“Saturday Night Live’s “ cold open Saturday might have seemed like it was making fun of top Republicans, but it was President Obama who was portrayed as a monster.
And Michelle doesn’t come off so pretty either.
As an Oval Office interview between Jay Pharoah’s Obama and Rep. John Boehner (Taran Killam), Sen. Tom Cotton (Kyle Mooney) and Sen. Ted Cruz (Bobby Moynihan) goes south, Obama gets ugly. And morphs into “The Rock” Obama (professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson.)
First he throws Boehner out the window, then rips off Cotton’s hand and wants to behead Cruz. Those are two Sharia punishments, of course, but “SNL’s” overwhelmingly liberal audience probably didn’t notice.
Michelle Obama’s gotten her share of bad publicity with how she treats the help lately, but the ogre she turns into with the skit’s Secret Service isn’t going to make “SNL” any friends in the White House.
