Tasteless showboats with more money than brains are showing up at the site of the Thursday’s building explosion in New York City to snap photos of themselves in front of the wreckage — and locals are getting steamed.
In New York City’s East Village Thursday a building exploded due to an apparent gas leak leaving 25 people injured, two missing and devastation in it’s wake.
And while authorities search for the two missing victims who may have perished in the blast heartless people came by the site to revel in the disaster and snap photos of themselves at the scene causing anger amongst local residents, the New York Post reported.
One of the people snapping selfies has been idea ID’d as a communications director for the Iowa Democratic Party, Christina Freundlich, who photographed herself giving a peace sign in front of the disaster.

“THIS IS A TRAGEDY NOT A TOURIST ATTRACTION SHOW SOME RESPECT,” one neighbor wrote on a sign taped to their door.
“Please keep off our stoop. Gawk from the street,” wrote another.
Sadly it’s not just “dumb kids” but also people who should know better.
A local man, Pablo Fernandez, not only took selfies in front of the site but had his friends shoot a video of him dancing in front of it before his bachelor party.
“This is so we could send the pictures to our friends in Spain and say, ‘Look what we did,’ ” a friend told the Post.
Another reveler, Jeanine Slade, told the Post her selfie was taken out of context.
“My heart goes out to the people of New York, and this satire post was in poor taste,” Slade said. “My intention was to point out how many people post selfies in inappropriate times and it backfired.”
Sadly taking selfies at the scenes of disasters has become a common trend as the moral compass of the world continues to erode.
