Likening the Obama administration to a father who decides not to abandon his children, or the scheming woman who frames her husband in a popular movie, NRA commentator Colion Noir issued a warning Wednesday that gun owners shouldn’t be fooled the ATF’s decision to shelve a proposed ban on ammunition for use by the AR-15 rifle.
“I’m starting to believe the Obama Administration got their anti-gun playbook, from that crazy character Amy from ‘Gone Girl,’” Noir said. “They consistently manipulate the public and the conversation on guns in this country, all the while painting Second Amendment advocates as paranoid fear-mongers.”
The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms announced March 10 that it was withdrawing a proposal to ban the 5.56 M855 ammunition — known as “green tips” — on the grounds that the bullets penetrate protective armor worn by law enforcement officers.
That decision came after immense public pressure, but Noir warned the victory could be only temporary. And Democrat lawmakers are already announcing bills to enshrine the proposed administrative ban into law.
“Anti-gunners aren’t interested in negotiation,” Noir said. “They’ve stated multiple times that if they could, they¹d ban it all. If you think this temporary victory is the last we’re going to hear of an ammo ban, I have a gun-free zone utopia I want to sell you.”
The proposed laws don’t have a chance with Republicans in control of the House and Senate, but they’re not giving up. And gun rights supporters can’t let up either, Noir said.
“So don’t be lulled into complacency because they’ve gone back to the drawing board on this ridiculous ammo ban proposal,” said said. “Cause that’s all they’re doing, going back to the drawing board.”
