‘News’ media coverage of Scott Walker a mess of corrections, retractions and apologies

The lies liberals are telling about Scott Walker in the media keep unraveling.

The latest embarrassment is The Daily Beast, a website with pretensions to actual journalism. It published a piece Friday by a student columnist who accused the Republican Wisconsin governor of proposing a budget that would end requirements on reporting rapes on campus.

The Daily Beast had to retract entire article as more fiction than fact and issued a statement of apology.

We deeply regret the error and apologize to Gov. Walker and our readers. Our original story should be considered retracted.apologize

The crucial error came because the Daily Beast relied on the notoriously shallow feminist website Jezebel, which also had to apologize.

With its report, the Daily Beast became the second major outlet within the same number of weeks to apologize for saying it got a story wrong about Walker, who is now cruising in the fast lane on the highway to a GOP presidential nomination.

The New York Times claimed in a Feb. 13 column that Wisconsin teachers were laid off in 2010 because of Walker’s budget cuts to education. But a 10-second Google search would have revealed that Walker didn’t become governor until the following year.

Oopsie.

That article was headlined “Scott Walker Needs An Eraser,” a choice that Politico later observed “wasn’t the best idea.”

Unlike The Times, which kept the column online but removed the inaccuracies, The Beast retracted the entire article. Apparently, the only thing the student columnist got right about the issue was the spelling of Walker’s name.

Politico reported that the budget cut request cited in the Beast article wasn’t even proposed by the governor:

In fact, the University of Wisconsin system requested the deletion of the requirements to get rid of redundancy, as it already provides similar information to the federal government, UW System spokesman Alex Hummel told The Associated Press on Friday.

And those journalistic problems — possibly based originally on honest errors but fueled throughout with partisan loathing for the conservative Walker — are just what the media will admit it’s gotten flat-out wrong.

The cascade of anti-conservative half-truths about Walker is only going to grow if his candidacy keeps the momentum it has now.

The Democratic National Committee also engaged in some incorrect reporting on Walker in an email blast it sent out Saturday. Its message claimed that the governor “compared Wisconsin workers to terrorists” during his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday.

This is what Walker actually said, according to The Weekly Standard:

“I want a commander in chief who will do everything in their power to ensure that the threat from radical Islamic terrorists does not wash up on American soil,” Walker said during his address. “If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world.”

Not quite the same, but political parties don’t work under the same ethics standards as do journalists, so I don’t expect a retraction coming anytime soon from the Democratic National Committee.

If success can be measured by how many lies your opponents will tell about you, Walker must be shooting for the stars.

I do believe the student ahhhh… journalist, has passed the MSM test of being just who they want . This student just needs a little more expertise on conveying a lie so the brain dead that listen to these outlets can process it without doubt.

Maybe they should go into writing fiction, seeing as that’s what their expertise seems to be in. I’d like to know where they’re finding all these hacks, libtard colleges pumping out so called “journalists”. Must be scrapping the bottom of the barrel, as any reputable journalist wouldn’t be caught dead writing for them.

      1. SusieQ says:

The MSM is just another arm of the democrat leftist party. It’s the elephant in the room for liberal jerks on those networks and publications. They know it is true but think for some reason they still come across as legitimate and believable. What a dumb public we have in some parts of the public.
Gruber knew exactly to whom he was addressing and they still don’t realize it.

These liberal rags should just pack it in. Between their retractions, apologies, and shoddy hack pieces, about the only thing they’re good for would be lining a bird cage, house breaking your puppy, or rolling it into fire starters. Must be driving them crazy that the worst dirt they can dig up on Walker is his leaving college early, bwahaha.

Once upon a time, there were journalists who WERE REAL

journalists & obsessed with finding the truth regardless who was president

They were non-partisan in their obsession. But since the invasion of
socialists permeating & inundating in our countries academia …

our media, our congress, our citizens & our presidents have had this
    communist ideology.

The media fawns over liberal socialist candidates while excoriating,
denigrating, berating & crucifying all Republican & conservative
candidates, always holding them to higher ethical & moral standards.

They forgive their partisan colleagues as easily as they burn their
    opposition.

The medias blatant disregard for their traditional role as the

4th estate & government watchdog has endangered America & eroded
the notion of a free & fair press.

    Their one-sided
coverage of President Obama has shredded Americas trust in journalism by
    surrendering its integrity &

objectivity, thus endangering our democracy & free society.

Remember when Obama passed a law w/Sen.Coburn

requiring more transparency via public database of all federal spending?

Obama complained of the Bush White House as being “most secretive
administrations in our history” Even chided Hillary for NOT releasing
    her White House schedules.

    Obama has stonewalled
info about his own; legislative, personal health, education, financing,
    & background records.

The press, usually banging at the door for candidates to make “full
disclosure” is strangely quiet about Obama’s stonewalling.

    Anyone know why?

Our PRESS, aren’t they remarkable? They can find every woman Tiger Woods
has had an affair with, their text messages, photos, recordings, cause of
family fights even golf wedge she used on him & the car!

But same press corp can’t seem to find
Obama’s BC, college papers, or anyone who knew him in college, how he
paid for it, what passports he used or how he applied for financial aid
    available only to foreign students!

In re: to Obama 62 million voted w/o prior knowledge thanks to our press
    corp & media.

In 2012, people had a choice for more jobs with Romney or more poor people
& more food stamps with Obama.

Voters did NOT pick the businessman.

    Voters did NOT pick
the candidate with the “content of

    character” …

    voters picked a
candidate b/c of his skin color. more food stamps, more letting the government
give them everything, they didn ‘t want jobs … they didn’t want to work! They
    wanted wealth redistribution.

Three significant historical events have been eclipsed by Obama:

    1) Jimmy Carter will no longer be looked upon as the worst president in American
    history;

    2) Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton will no longer be recognized as the
    greatest liars in presidential history;

    3) Clinton’s stain on Monica’s dress, and what that did to White House in
general and the office of the president specifically, will forever pale in
comparison to the stain and stench of B.O.

Thank you, I think you about covered it all and very well.
There is no hope for those that falsely give themselves the title journalist. The sad reality is the fact they know they are not providing the correct information. It is not even a question of their actual belief in writing a story. It is contrived and deliberate.
This is a cancer that has invaded the airways and no matter how valiantly it is fought by those trying to right the wrongs of these so called publications and news outlets it just seems to keep prospering and growing. We in this country are in a world of hurt.

  4. Kenyan Mocker says:

We need to start singling out the corrupt media and following them, protesting them everyplace they go. Don’t let them have a moment in their life where they don’t have to answer for their actions. It doesn’t matter if they are at the store, the movies, their church, walking in the park. Make them see the shame of what they do in front of family, friends, co-workers.

  5. wiseone says:

Notice how the left media’s attempts to destroy Scott Walker aren’t working the way they did with Sarah Palin. What’s the difference? Could it be that Walker is not being undermined by the Presidential nominee himself the way McCain and his aides stabbed Palin in the back?
