No decency: Anti-cop protesters defy mayor’s request to stand down until after cops’ funerals

Ignoring a plea from embattled New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to suspend demonstrations until after the funerals of two slain police officers, more than a thousand protesters took to city streets Tuesday night.

Taking their cue from race provocateur Al Sharpton, who rejected de Blasio’s appeal, calling it “an ill-defined request,” the mob displayed an angry, hateful demeanor, according to the New York Post.

“The mayor says stop that, we say f–k that!” protesters defiantly chanted, according to the newspaper.

Travis Morales, an activist with the Stop Mass Incarceration Network, said the mayor has “no right” to tell them not to protest.

“Anyone who presides over a system where their police day in and day out brutalize and murder people with impunity, and they’re never punished, has no right to tell other people not to protest,” Morales told the Post.

Carrying a banner that read “Stop Racist Police Terror” — the controversial, pro-Palestinian group ANSWER Coalition’s name was emblazoned along the bottom of the banner — protesters started out on sidewalks, but would later block traffic on Fifth and Madison Avenues, the Post reported.

With Christmas two days away, and the city still mourning the assassination of two police officers, there was no let up in the militant rhetoric.

“NYPD, KKK, how many kids did you kill today?” the mob shouted, missing the irony of comparing the minority-majority New York Police Department to the Ku Klux Klan.

As word of the protest hit social media, the reaction by many users was predictable. Here is a sampling, as seen on Twitter:
