Regular viewers of “The Kelly File” who were curious about host Megyn Kelly‘s absence on Wednesday’s show may have been surprised to see her on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” later in the evening.

While hanging out with Kimmel, Kelly talked about attending the White House Christmas party the night before.

“Boy, oh boy, did I see a lot of MSNBC anchors,” she quipped. “You couldn’t take two steps without hitting one.”

Accompanied by husband Doug Brunt, the Fox News host told Kimmel she was nervous about the protocol of such an event, and embarrassed herself during her brief encounter with President Obama and the first lady when a joke didn’t go as planned.

“Wait a minute, what did I say?”
