Fox News’ Stacey Dash takes on ‘black media’ critics: ‘Bring it!’

Conservative black actress Stacey Dash on Thursday used her small-screen role as a Fox commentator to lash out at the “black media” that tries to pigeon hole people who think like she does as “clueless” simply because of her skin color.

When Dash became vocal about her political beliefs during the 2012 presidential election campaign, she was targeted by the progressive left and whatever stature she had was mocked by liberal media pundits and their followers in the social media.

These so-called tolerant utopians who throw the “racist” bomb at anyone who speaks against Barack Obama’s agenda or the Democrat Party went ballistic on Stacey and haven’t slowed down. The “war on women” only counts when it comes from the right.

Ebony Magazine published an online article this month titled “Google’s Top Trending Black Actresses of 2014.” The iconic outlet noted that Dash made this list at No. 9, but rather than celebrating her with the rest of the liberal elite, it ridiculed Dash for the political stances she’s taken. The blurb that accompanied her placement on the list read:

“Her conservative, clueless political slant sparked controversy time after time this year, making Dash notoriously trendy for all the wrong reasons.”

As you probably know, “Clueless” was the 1995 movie where Dash appeared as Dionne, so the pun is supposed to be pardoned.

On Thursday, Dash wasn’t in a pardoning mood.

“It’s not tough, it’s not tough for me. I’m from the South Bronx. Bring it! I have to stand for what I believe in, I have no choice, that’s just who I am,” Dash said on Fox’s “Outnumbered.”

I can relate with Stacey because I say the same exact thing. There isn’t a person on this earth who can knock you off your mountain after you have made your mind up to stand up and fight for your beliefs.

This Ebony magazine “crab in the barrel” mentality has continued to keep the black community down day after day, month after month and year after year. To see someone make it should be a joyous occasion. To see someone reach her dreams and learn who she really is should be applauded. Stacey met that moment many of us have reached, waking to the conservative mindset that was dormant and reaching out to share that experience to help others see they don’t have to settle for the government plantation.

As black conservatives who vote Republican, we go through this all the time. We are proud to be separated from the liberal collective. We don’t ask for this treatment nor do we go seeking to be demonized and vilified through social and print media. Our views should count just like anyone else’s views.

I have had my run-ins with Stacey on a more personal level. There are a few issues I do not agree with her on and I have let it be known.

At the end of the day, though, we are individuals with a different brain, different thought pattern and I know Stacey and I believe in the goal … less dependence on government and more personal responsibility for your actions.

To not admire a black conservative like Stacey Dash, you’d have to be … clueless
