Doesn’t Michele Bachmann know by now that wars are men’s stuff?

President Obama sure does, Bachmann told Fox News on Friday.

In an interview with Martha MacCallum, the outgoing congresswoman from Minnesota described her last meeting with the president as a U.S. representative, noting that she decided to make the most of the opportunity.

At the White House Christmas party on Monday, Bachmann said she warned Obama to bomb Iran, if that’s what it would take to keep the ayatollahs from getting their maniac hands on a nuclear weapon.

“I asked the president to be very serious and to think about this, because if Iran obtains a nuclear weapon on his watch, the course of history will change,” she told MacCallum.

And the president’s response? Pure male condescension, Bachmann said.

“He smiled and laughed and was fairly patronizing, and said, ‘Well, you know, it just isn’t that easy, Michele, but that’s OK,’ like I’m some little woman who doesn’t know what I’m talking about.”

Actually, Bachmann, who served on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, knows enough about the mad mullahs to know they they’ve been pretty clear about what they’ll do if they ever join the nuclear club.

“They have stated unequivocally they will bomb the United States, they will bomb Israel,” Bachmann said. “They will use this weapon if they have it.”

That’s serious business to most people, but it seems to be about about as important to the president as whether you can keep your doctor.

But Bachmann might be giving the president a bad rap on the gender front if she thought he was being condescending and patronizing because she’s a woman.

He’s like that with everybody.
