Obama tells BET he’s concerned his own daughters, and future grandsons could be victims of American racism

It was a new level of presidential hubris – and liberal fantasy.

In an interview broadcast Monday, President Obama deliberately channeled Martin Luther King Jr., suggesting his own daughters could someday face dangers from racism like those the civil rights legend battled a half-century ago.

“I want my children to be seen as the individuals that they are, and I want them to be judged based on the content of their character and their behavior and their talents and their gifts,” Obama told Black Entertainment Television interviewer Jeff Johnson, according to the Daily Mail.

The fatuous arrogance of evoking King’s powerful “I Have a Dream” speech is pitiful – as though the children of a man elected to lead the most powerful nation in the world, and a man who’s a millionaire many times over, are somehow going to be victimized by that same country.

Obama wasn’t done, though. He went on to slander law enforcement officers around the country, telling Johnson he even fears for his future grandsons, who as black men could be targeted by racist police.

“…. I don’t want them to be subjected to the kind of constant bias that makes them feel as if this is not their home,” he said. “That they’re not safe in their own neighborhoods, or that they cannot trust the institutions that are put in place supposedly to serve and protect them.”

It was despicable, truly, but it played into the liberal fantasy that the looters of Ferguson today are the equivalent of the liberal Freedom Riders of two generations ago; that the Jim Crow era of segregation was never vanquished.

It’s the same liberal fantasy that whatever progress has been made, white Americans will never truly shake off off the racism of the past – a racism incorporated into law, it’s worth repeating again and again, by the Democrat Party.

It’s simply not true. And thinking Americans know it.

Just like thinking Americans know that Barack Obama is no MLK, and that for children of millionaire former presidents, racism is a liberal fantasy.
