Determined young elephant defends self against 14 lions

Not sure what harrowing dangers you faced today, but this young elephant probably has both of us beat — he managed to keep himself out of the stomachs of 14 hungry lionesses that were trying to eat him!

This determined elephant, separated from the rest of his herd, was attacked by lions. The cats climbed his back, bit into his flesh and tried their best to fell him, but this tough-skinned youth didn’t give in. He fought back and even led the group into water in attempt to get the lions to give up.

It’s a heroic struggle captured on film by a group on safari in the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. They told the Daily Mail the young elephant was reunited with his herd the following day.
