Giant 100-yard penis burned into HS football field; you won’t believe who did it

There’s no place like homecoming.

A 50-year-old mother, her 16-year-old daughter and another teenager are facing a felony charge after using weed killer to burn the shape of a giant penis into the turf at a local high school football field, causing up to $20,000 in damage, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The Free Press reported the phallus stretched the length of the field and forced Bedford Senior High School in Temperance, Mich., to scramble after it popped up overnight Aug. 31.

Six football games – two jayvee and four varsity – were moved to avoid playing on the you-know-what – and volunteers and a local landscaping company joined forces to repair the turf in time for the Sept. 19 homecoming game. (The Bedford Kicking Mules beat Ann Arbor Huron 42-7.)

“It was a lot more than a prank given the significant damage and the disruption of school activities,”   Monroe County Assistant Prosecutor Leah Hubbard told the paper.

The law is certainly treating it like more than a prank. The mother, identified by the local ABC affiliate as Julie Baumgartner, her unidentified daughter and the other teen are charged with malicious destruction of turf, shrubs or trees, according to the station.

That’s a felony.

But making at least half the town’s population feel utterly inadequate?

That’s unforgivable.
