As the people of Eloy, Ariz., celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner with a parade, their Democratic congresswoman flew a Mexican flag on her float.
U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick posted images of her float on social media Saturday, and while not having an American flag may have been an oversight, someone made sure there was a Mexican flag prominently displayed.
Kirkpatrick tweeted this:
Our team is walking in Eloy today & talking about Ann’s record of fighting for AZ families! #AZ01 pic.twitter.com/PvXdI2xKrl

Robert Graham, chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, was quick to respond.
The GOP suggested Kirkpatrick purposely cropped the flag out of the twitter pictures, and posted the full version on its website: “Arizona voters already know Kirkpatrick has been doing a poor job representing her constituents while she continues to support Obama’s failed policies, but flying the Flag of Mexico alone with no sign of the Flag of the United States is offensive and hurtful not just to our veterans but to every American,” Graham said.
The congresswoman was blasted by outraged Twitter followers with tweets like these:
@Ann_Kirkpatrick Your volunteers flew the #Mexican flag and NOT the #US flag in the parade. #Disgraceful #TrueCharacter #AZ01 #SillyDemocrat — Alistair Quinn (@AlistairQ) September 13, 2014
@Ann_Kirkpatrick Is there a reason you’re flying a foreign flag? Are you fighting for American families or Mexican? — ThePolitical Port (@PoliticalPort) September 14, 2014
@Ann_Kirkpatrick Here’s a link on your website for people to request an American flag. Might want to use it … http://t.co/ZVCIQ95iYy #tcot

@Ann_Kirkpatrick Since when do you run for office in Mexico? Where’s the US flag who you’re supposed to represent?

Perhaps it was the stress of the campaign that caused her confusion. Maybe this will clear it up:
.@Ann_Kirkpatrick Carrying Mexico’s flag? I thought you were running for U.S. House of Representatives not Mexico’s Chamber of Deputies #p2

Shocking photos of NYC’s Muslim Day Parade; hanging women extreme – even for New Yorkers
