The Massachusetts mosque attended by the Boston Marathon bombers has long been known for terror connections.
In Sunday’s New York Post, an expert on terror subversion in the U.S. reports one of its former worshippers is now a top propagandist for the ISIS savages who make videos of Americans being beheaded and posting them on the Internet.
According to Paul Sperry, a fellow at the conservative Hoover Institution and author of “Infiltration: How Muslim Spies and Subversives Have Penetrated Washington,” Ahmad Abousamra, 32, is a former worshipper at the Cambridge, Mass., Islamic Society.
The Islamic Society was the home mosque of the Marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamarlan Tsarnaev. Tamarlan, the elder brother, died in a shootout with police after the bombing. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is awaiting trial.
And Abousamra is running public relations for the murderers of American jouralists James Foley and Steven Sotloff — the Josef Goebbels of Islamofascism.
According to Sperry, Abousamra – whose father was president of the Islamic Center of New England mosques, which oversees the Cambridge mosque – is only the latest member of the Cambridge mosque to turn out with solid links to terrorism.
Besides its founder, at least four other Muslims who worshipped there have been tied to terrorist groups. But Abousamra might be the most effective. As the man behind the videos and other social media methods that popularize the Islamic State’s murderous activities, Perry wrote, he has helped attract at least 300 Americans, and thousands of other westerners, to the Islamic State cause.
Raised in the West, with a bitter hatred of their adopted home, these men – and handful of women – are like the janissaries of old, except in reverse.
The janissaries were an elite corps of soldiers of the Ottoman sultans made up of Christian boys kidnapped into slavery, converted and turned into warriors against their original countries.
As Perry writes, the Islamic Center claims it teaches a moderate form of Islam compatible with the West. Still, he asks:
“But how many terrorists does it take before people are convinced it isn’t a coincidence?
