Malkin’s news for Dems: It’s ‘not an international human rights crime to eat cheap Ramen’

In a stunt designed to draw attention to raising the minimum wage, U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., and a handful of fellow Democrats are participating in a week long challenge to live on the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.

Titled “Live the Wage Challenge,” the goal is to live for a week on a $77 budget.

On Thursday, Schakowsky tweeted her menu for the week to show the great sacrifice she’s making, having to scrape by on things such as tuna salad, hard boiled eggs and Ramen noodles  — the poor dear.

But leave it to the likes of conservative firebrand Michele Malkin and a few other Twitter users to remind Schakowsky it’s not a “human rights crime” to eat Ramen noodles, and that they’re a staple in a lot of pantries. They even served up a few suggestions on how to spruce up the dish on the cheap!
