The celebration of Michael Sam’s admission of his preference to be gay just prior to the NFL draft has led many to wonder why Tim Tebow was chastised so often for his preference to be religious.
Florida State University linebacker DeMarcus Walker took to Twitter to expose the hypocrisy, tweeting Saturday:
Y’all praise Michael Sam for being gay but y’all mocked Tim Tebow for being a Christian. Smh #Society

Others on Twitter also noticed, including these compiled by Twitchy:
Why are people praising Michael Sam for being gay but hated Tim Tebow for being a Christian? Our society is twisted

I’m not against anyone who’s gay but I don’t see why its celebrated when Michael Sam says he’s gay yet Tim Tebow is ridiculed for His faith.

It truly is ironic how Michael Sam is praised & supported for being gay and Tim Tebow hated and mocked for being Christian. What a shame.

Perhaps the best slam to the mainstream media circus was this tweet:
The media says to treat Michael Sam like any other football yet they give him way more publicity than any other 7th round pick #hypocrites
