Trey Gowdy mocks Harry Reid’s denial: ‘I didn’t think Mormons used drugs’

U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., slammed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid during a radio interview Friday in which he said of the Nevada Democrat, “I didn’t think Mormons used drugs.”

The host of the Mike Gallagher Radio Show brought up Reid’s recent statements claiming that the Affordable Care Act would be pretty much a non-issue during the 2014 midterm elections.

That’s when Gowdy made the quip about Mormons not doing drugs adding, “We have a majority leader who is manifesting several the things Sigmund Freud warned us about, that is projection and denial on an epic scale.”

He attributed it to Reid’s lengthy tenure in the Senate.

“I think the longer you stay in Congress, the more detached you come from reality,” he said.
