In a second floor speech during debate on the “Enforce the Law Act” Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., contrasted the acts of President Obama with the words of Senator Obama.
“How does going from a senator to a president re-write the constitution?” he asked. “Mr. Speaker, I don’t think there’s an amendment to the Constitution I missed. I try to keep up with those with regularity.”
He closed with the purpose of the act being debated.
“We don’t pass suggestions in this body, Mr. Speaker, and we don’t pass ideas,” he said. “We pass laws, and we expect them to be faithfully executed.”
