Childish retaliation: Obama administration freezes out Fox News

Does the news freeze mean the Obama administration is afraid of Fox News?

chriswallace0304Over the weekend, with the country facing one of the most serious foreign policy challenges of President Obama’s five long, inept years in office, administration spokesmen were dispatched to three major networks’ Sunday talk shows to explain to the American public how the White House is responding to Russia’s hostile occupation of a neighboring country.

Fox News was not part of the lineup.

In an obvious and childish retaliation against the one major news outlet in the country that doesn’t slavishly adopt the administration line, Secretary of State John Kerry chose not to appear on “Fox News Sunday,” but did find time for interviews on Fox’s competitors ABC, CBS and NBC.

The nation’s top-rated news network apparently doesn’t rate an appearance by the nation’s top diplomat, even if that means Kerry isn’t taking advantage of an opportunity to tell millions of Americans where their country stands and where it could be headed in the future.

“For the record, we invited Secretary of State Kerry to join us today,” “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace said on the air Sunday. “But although the White House put him out on all the other broadcast Sunday shows, they declined to make him available to us — or you.”

As the Daily Caller noted, it was the second time in as many weeks the administration has blanked Fox and its millions of Sunday watchers. On Feb. 23, National Security Adviser Susan Rice – the woman last seen on Sunday morning talk shows administration lies about the terrorist attack in Benghazi in 2012 – also declined to appear on Fox.

“Of course, Fox has led the way in questioning how the administration handled Benghazi,” Wallace said at the time. “Perhaps Susan Rice didn’t want to answer the tough questions we would’ve asked.”

No doubt, the whiz kids on the Obama communications team know they’re going to get a tougher reception from a Fox News program than the lapdog outlets.

When the Nixon administration froze out media outlets it considered political enemies, the libs were appalled.

When the Obama administration  freezes out one of the country’s most popular media outlets, the  libs yawn, then scramble for the scraps.

Five long years into Age of Obama, it’s tough to remember that tough questions for administration officials used to be called “journalism.”
