Flashback: ‘Communists!’ Howard Stern vows never to vote Dem again, even ‘if God becomes a Democrat’

The Obama administration’s new plan to monitor newsrooms had the media in a frenzy this week, and it has a well-circulated anti-Democrat rant from famous shock -jock Howard Stern getting a new round of attention.

Stern made big news by slamming Democrats and the FCC in 2008, saying “I have vowed I will never vote for a Democrat again.” The 6-year-old diatribe is being re-circulated all over social media and conservative websites over the past few days.

Sirius Radio host Howard Stern is incensed that Democratic members of the Federal Communications Commission oppose his network’s upcoming merger with Satellite XM Radio. As a result, he vowed never to vote for another Democrat again.

Although the merger passed FCC scrutiny, it was done against the wishes of Democrats, who the “shock jock” called “communists” and “gangsters.”

He described a phone conversation he’d had with his agent earlier on his Friday show to sidekick Robin Quivers.

“I go, ‘That’s it!’” Stern said. “[I] go, ‘You know what Don, I’ve voted Republican and I’ve voted Democrat. I have vowed I will never vote for a Democrat again. I don’t give a [expletive] – no matter who they are. I don’t care if God becomes a Democrat.’ I said, ‘I backed Hillary Clinton, I backed Al Gore, I backed John Kerry. I am done with them.’”

Note: It may not have been clear in a previous version of this post that Stern’s rant happened 6 years ago. The post was updated for clarity on 2/23.

          Keep believing in fiction.

          • Lance Brown

Prove it’s fiction. Wait; you can’t prove it any more than I can prove it’s not.

          • JKellogg

Perhaps, but it’s completely unscientific to believe there is no God.

          • Sam

I believe in god. I don’t need to want any proof. I have faith.

          • JKellogg

Belief in God requires faith. (Heb 11:1)

I don’t need any proof either and unless God changes the laws of physics (which He could “in the blink of an eye” for example), God’s existence will never be proven. That’s the way things are.

However, I stand by my earlier statement, Atheism is unscientific. In order to be scientific, one would have to be, at minimum, an agnostic.

          • Trutherator

My faith in the God of the Bible and the Bible itself is FACT-based. There is a very long list of evidence from science, history, experience of such. Bill Nye claimed that “science” by which he unwittingly means political monopoly Establishment science would happily throw out Darwinism if they found a fossil that extended through various geological strata. He even invoked the Grand Canyon to make the point.

He didn’t know and I don’t think Ken Ham even challenged him on it. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of such “polystrate fossils” visible in the walls of the Grand Canyon.

Ken Ham was disappointing, there was so much science he could have used. He’s a self-promoter. Should have used a more able Creationist scientist.

          • JKellogg

I agree. There have been other debates I’ve followed in which the Faith based participant did much better. But generally, Ham has been considered to have held his own in this case according to the coverage I’ve seen in the media.

          • blight14

Let me guess, the ‘earth is only 6,000 years old’, right? Join us in the 21st century, who knows, you may enjoy things like ‘indoor plumbing’ and ‘electricity’…..

          • JKellogg

You have no idea what I believe. However, there is nothing in science that disproves the existence of God, blight14. Nothing!

Not an earth that’s 4.5 billion years old.
            Not a universe that’s 13.8 billion y/o
Nor even a universe that’s 44 billion light years wide.

Nor that there are ~1 trillion galaxies out there.

Have a look at a deep field hi-res pic and consider how insignificant your egoistic approach really is.

Then with a new found humility, read this:
            http://biblehub.com/niv/psalms/19.htm

          • jennylynn69

Your god is the god of science!
Professing to be wise they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of CORRUPTIBLE MAN and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Romans 1:22-23

          • fez

How do you know if the earth was composed of matter that was more than 4 billion years old or if the earth itself is that old.

          • kenhowes

The sophistication of biochemistry and biophysics needed to create life, especially intelligent life, the intricacy of the DNA molecule, is scientific evidence against accidental life. This would be impossible without a creator.

          • Doug

It would be impossible to you. To another, entirely possible. Avoid sweeping statements that are only conjecture.

          • kenhowes

Very good. So tell me how it could happen by accident. You can’t. Nobody can. Nobody ever will be able to. Case closed.

          • Doug

I’m just amazed that you’re so certain of something that happened over millions of years or was it six thouisand?

          • kenhowes

You seem to be awfully certain of what happened millions of years ago, for someone so quick to scoff about knowledge of something that may have happened over millions of years. I also marvel at how very smart you are, that what persuaded Francis Crick of the existence of a Creator wasn’t enough evidence for you; you are evidently more scientific than Crick? Have you ever seriously contemplated what went into the formation of a DNA molecule, or what had to happen biophysically for intelligence to develop? Your unbelief is a much greater leap of faith than is belief. Certainly the physical evidence suggests to a near certainty that the earth is much older than 6,000 years. On the other hand, the paleontologists have their own problems with their dating of things.

          • jennylynn69

That which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, his eternal power and divine nature, have been CLEARLY SEEN, being understood through what has been made, SO THAT THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE. ROMANS 1:19-20

          • JKellogg

A note to all my fellow Christians on this thread:

Bear in mind that you can win an argument, and still not win a heart.

          • jennylynn69

            God’s word changes hearts. :))

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart Hebrews 4:12

Whether you believe that God is a being sitting on a throne
in a physical heaven or a divine force contained within every atom in our
universe; the mind of man through all of recorded history has had a universal
concept that there is a higher power. This concept of a higher power has imbued
mankind throughout all of history with the very basic ideology that man is not
the maker of true law, and man is not the final arbiter; God is!
If you do not have that belief then the ever changing laws of man can and have led to tyranny.

God bless and keep you all!

          • Rexd63

The Big Bang expands into a ever expanding universe. My question is just what exactly is it called or what is it t hat allows an expanding universe the realestate to expand into?

          • JKellogg

Well, I’m not an astrophysicist, but the way I understand it is that the fabric of reality is expanding. So there isn’t anything it’s expanding into, it’s being created.

          • Rexd63

The Big Bang had to happen in some kind of environment. It just can’t create it’s own existence and the space in which it exist. Only answer i can see is god and heaven but then..

          • JKellogg

Well, that’s my take on it. God exists outside the boundaries of time and space. Prior to the big bang, space, matter, time, physics, etc,etc did not exist. IMHO, there was nothing except for God.

Scientists tell us that the big bang started out at a point of 10^-20 times smaller than a single proton! That’s really, really, really, small.

A mote of a mote in God’s eye. Prior to that there was no physical reality. No space, no time, no physical laws because the laws of physics didn’t even exist.

            Nothing.

And in my view, God spoke existence itself into existence.

          • Rexd63

I don’t believe we are able to comprehend this until we pass on then enlightenment will happen in the afterlife.

        • JThaddeustoad

Does Howard and Michael defer to the Christ … I don’t think so…. If any thing they are mockers of God and as you well know he will not be mocked…

        • willietrohut

Christ did not hate as you folks do.

    • Zach Watkins

I’m glad he sees the light. How the Democrats claim they’re the party of the little man, poor, minorities, and everything else is beyond my comprehension. Have you seen the articles on the effect a minimum wage hike would have on the unemployed/underemployed? It’s a disaster just like everything progressives have proposed over the last 100 years.

What do you think the real unemployment rate is at present? I’ve read business people and economist who estimate the “real” unemployment rate in America is between 13-20%. What do you think about that?

      • willietrohut

        Poppycock.

        • Rexd63

Sweet Willie, they stop counting the people that run out unemployment benefits after 99 weeks so each month that number increases but doesn’t go into the calculations to come up with the real unemployment number. So with conservative thinking the real unemployment number is most likel around 20 to 35%. And with the communist hell bent on destroying your and my way of life that number will quickly approach 40 to 60%. So with your liberal thinking there is a money tree farm that the United States owns and the money will now we run out.

          • willietrohut

I know this….there are a few people who I know personally who are long term unemployed. Meanwhile I moved to Ohio and got a job immediately, with a second one in the pipeline to begin soon. Those people I know who are long term unemployed….they are too narrow on their choices of jobs to which they will apply. I have told them as such, and they get angry about it. They have all these reasons why they cannot take this job or did not get that job.
And yet they complain about how they won’t be able to go on much longer, near the end of their rope. To that I say “poppycock”. If we let the GOP labor hating party continue, we will see unemployment rise and wages and benefits decline. But WTF are you talking about??? Liberal thinking? Money tree? I have never been on any kind of assistance from the govt and don’t need it even though I was forced to retire early from a bankrupt major airline recently. But I got a job after that. Suck it.

          • Gunney57

WOW, I guess you told them Willie. Anger management is a liberal invention. Wonder why…..

          • willietrohut

Anger management is a liberal invention? Seek psychiatric help for that delusional problem.

          • Gunney57

Liberalism IS a psychiatric disorder. So you might consider joining me in the session. Thanks for the rant! It was revealing!

          • willietrohut

That is a right wing brainwashing belief. Be sure to tell your psychiatrist about those strange beliefs. God bless and good luck.

Oh my gawd I am surprised you weren’t struck down like King Herod after that statement above

You know Howard is not a fan of Michael Savage. In fact Howard reveal his real name which is Michael Alan Weiner.

      • blight14

Stern and Weiner are both termites™.

        • willietrohut

Stern is a Weiner (what they were saying above)….so it would be appropriate to say Stern and Savage are both termites?

    • JThaddeustoad

Don’t think so …. Michael Savage ,communist turned conservative talk show host ,Howard Stern is a self hating jew that pioneered trash on the airways and his popularity speaks to how sick a society we have become…Who cares what this guy thinks..

  • nickmcc247

Holy cow you people are out of touch, this merger took place years ago and since Howard has supported many ‘dems’.

    • pdunc1013

Then we are glad he now hates all democrats as does God.

      • ResidentOfMI

If you are so ‘religious’, why so much hate? What happened to ‘love thy neighbor’?

        • Brandon Johns

Why don’t you practice it too.

          • ResidentOfMI

            Explain?

          • willietrohut

He can’t. Right wingers toss out insults all the time and have no reason or justification for it, especially when it does not fit the situation.

      • nickmcc247

I’m pretty sure he never did and still supports many. This column is so full of misinformation just like your understanding of religion. Why are you Christians so hateful?

        • Brandon Johns

Why are you commies so hateful?

          • nickmcc247

Who did I say I hate and when did I become a communist?

          • ResidentOfMI

To Brandon, anyone who does not think exactly as he or she does is a commie.

          • willietrohut

Are you an alter ego of pdunk1013? You keep responding to others who point out his hatefulness spewing in spite of his proclamation of being Christian. BTW, he is not Christ like in the way he says things with hate, and neither are you. I won’t claim to be anything so your insults bounce right off and mean nothing to me. But if you proclaim to be Christian, then act like it and stop tossing out insults and slurs that are nothing but meanness.

      • JThaddeustoad

How do you know ? because he said so ? this guy is hiding a lot…. what speaks to who he is is what he does …. he is obsessed with a lifestyle that is contrary to the laws of nature and his humor is toilet and quite sick ….

          Only Democrats are deceived?

Since the merger took place several years ago this is obviously an old broadcast. I wonder who he voted for in 2008, 10 and 2012 and how will he vote in 2014.

Welcome to reality Howard. Have a nice sleep?

  • Brandon Johns

Totally correct. The Democrats have become communists. They want to take away your freedom of choice(outside of abortion)and make you slaves to the state. The good news is that we can still stop them before it is too late. We must do it.

Wrong in both counts. I’m not a liberal and i’m not a conservative. I actually read and get my news and facts from b and learn things..I learn the facts. I don’t let others tell me what to think. I

          • Brandon Johns

It is based on their views. A majority of Democrats support socialism according to a recent poll. They are also always pushing communist-type policies on the country. The Communist Party USA now endorses Democrats instead of running their own candidates. Occupy Wall Street was full of communists.

          • ResidentOfMI

Please provide the source of the poll that says “Democrats are becoming Communists”? Please.

You do not need a poll. Look at their philosophies and what their politics are. You can also watch what they vote for. Obama himself believes in “sharing the wealth” Every else’s wealth that is. He also keeps spending the taxpayer’s money on his extravagant vacations and parties. We are like ancient Rome imploding all over again.

Wrong in both facts. I’m not a liberal and I don’t watch MSNBC. In addition to not being a liberal, i’m not a conservative. I have thoughts on both ends of the political spectrum. I actually educate myself on facts. On your “Open Mind” comment? You are the one who said Democrats are Communists…how is that an open mind? That is a far right way of thinking. You may not ‘watch tv’ or ‘listen to AM radio’, but you don’t have an open mind.

Why don’t you look for yourself and check out the facts. The disinformation from most of the mainstream media is appalling.

  • Theu2edge

Sorry….but Stern doesn’t broadcast live on Fridays. In fact he only did Tuesday and Wednesday this week. On Fridays he replays the weeks shows on CH. 100 and on CH. 101 old shows. So clearly this was an old show, being that the merger went through July of 2008. I listen to him live everyday and not one time this week or in recent weeks has he talked about the merger. Why would he? And since the merger he has had many politicians on from various parties and has stated several times he votes both republican and democrat, even on recent shows. Guess what….a 55 second clip on a 4 hour show has no context. And a guy will say a lot of things in 4 hours and easily go back on them later. But nice try.

  • Rohan M.

What exactly is this? An article about a joke concerning a merger that happened in 2008? What the frig, BizPac?
