Dinesh D’Souza’s one-on-one debate with Bill Ayers, exclusive Hannity interview

Conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza said Friday he is “undeterred” by the indictment on campaign finance charges and is “marching full speed ahead” on his upcoming film, “America.”

During an exclusive interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, D’Souza acknowledged that his previous hard-hitting film, “2016: Obama’s America,” – the second most popular political documentary in history – got “under President Obama’s skin,” and could perhaps be the reason for the seemingly retributive, politically motivated charges he faces, as his attorneys have maintained.

“We advanced a thesis [in the film “Obama’s America”] that here is a traumatized, somewhat of a messed-up guy, who is, in a way, haunted by the dreams of his father,” D’Souza said, adding that there was a “rant against” the movie on Obama’s website.

“We know the film rattled him, we know the film upset him, and whether this is a kind of payback remains to be seen.”

Hannity then aired a segment from D’Souza’s one-on-one debate with President Obama’s friend, the unrepentant former terrorist Bill Ayers, on the campus of Dartmouth College Thursday evening.

D’Souza said:

I think it’s very interesting that Bill Ayers, and also his wife, Bernardine Dohrn who was a kind-of co conspirator with him then, they’ve both become very well established university professors. And I think this is part of a way in which some of the most unrepentant radicals of the sixties have figured out that there is a way to transform the system to achieve the same revolutionary goals, but to do it through the classroom, to do it by shaping young minds.

This is kind of why I wanted to debate Ayers on the campus – to sort of test his ideas on a liberal campus…and sort of show him up in front of the students.

The must-watch debate is long, and covers a range of issues. If time is a factor, each gives an 18-minute opening statement, and then the questions to each other begin around the 42-minute mark.
