Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro called out former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her lack of accountability and leadership in the Benghazi attack.
Pirro took a break from critiquing the president to dedicate her opening statement Saturday to Clinton.
She found Clinton’s vacant response to the Benghazi crisis ironic given the 2008 TV ad the then-presidential candidate ran that asked voters, “Who do you want answering the phone when it rings at 3 a.m.?”
Clinton made herself scarce for two months after the attack because she was aware of her own culpability in the tragedy, Pirro said.
“You knew it! That’s why you didn’t go on the Sunday shows,” the “Justice with Judge Jeanine” host said, addressing Clinton directly and adding:
“You knew it! Which is why you had waited until everyone else had spoken so you could get your ducks in a row.
“You knew it! Because of the cables from your friend [Ambassador Chris Stevens] and because of the deteriorating security situation in Benghazi.
“You knew it! Which is why you appointed your friends to an accountability review board — which friends never even called you to testify.”
At the end, Pirro asked, “So which is it? If you didn’t know, you’re incompetent. If you did know, you’re guilty of criminal negligence.”
