George H. W. Bush becomes an honorary Blue Angel

Former President George H.W. Bush on Friday was made an honorary member of the Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy’s flight demonstration squadron.

The announcement was made via Twitter with this group photo:

Bush was a Navy pilot during World War II, so he took some time to share some pointers with the guys wearing his signature wild socks:

The former president made parachute jumps in his 75th, 80th and 85th birthdays, but no word if he’ll give it a go on his 90th later this year, according to USA Today.
