Fed up MSNBC gets a babysitter to review hosts’ scripts

The string of liberal embarrassments at MSNBC lately has gotten too embarrassing even for MSNBC.

Granted, embarrassment can’t come easy for a gang that openly bills itself as “the place for progressives,” but the series of vile remarks by former host Martin Bashir and the still-for-now employed hostess Melissa Harris-Perry have gone too far even for lib suits who worry about ratings.

babiesbathingAccording to National Review’s Eliana Johnson, MSNBC has placed former Keith Olbermann producer Rich Stockwell in charge of reviewing scripts for the hosts before shows go on the air.

MSNBC apparently hopes that an adult on the set– even an adult who used to produce an overgrown punk like Olbermann – might realize it’s not a good idea for a cable television host to suggest having someone defecate into a woman’s mouth as a form of discipline.

That was what Bashir, in scripted remarks, said should be done to Sarah Palin. That Bashir made the remarks is bad enough. The fact that they were premeditated, that someone’s fingers – presumably Bashir’s – actually set the words down should be unbelievable, except he’s a lib so it’s almost to be expected. (And that he made it in the context of a punishment for slaves tells a lot about what libs really think about human dignity, or at least the dignity of women who “go rogue.”)

So a script reviewer is now in place to try to make sure vile suggestions of torture involving human excrement being forced into a human mouth don’t make it onto the air. That’s liberal progress.

Stockwell should also be on the lookout for laugh fests like Harris-Perry and her panel making fun of the fact that a black child has been adopted by Mitt Romney’s son Ben and his wife, Andelynne. MSNBC hosts apparently need an adult on hand to tell them mocking children because they’re black, and fortunate enough to be adopted into a large, loving and wealthy family.

(God only knows what the progressives would prefer for the kid, but we can hope it doesn’t involve Martin Bashir.)

According to Johnson’s article, Stockwell’s job is going to be complicated by the presence of Rachel “The Queen” Maddow, the real power at the network. But the biggest complication is the fact that the job – keeping juvenile minds behaving like civilized adults — is actually impossible.

MSNBC by its own admission exists as a network for progressives to give voice to their beliefs. Where those beliefs lead — Bashir’s vile statement about Sarah Palin based solely on her sex, Harris-Perry’s vile mockery of Kieran Romney based solely on the color of his skin versus that of his adoptive parents — is as ineluctable to modern liberalism as its spokesmen railing about  “income equality” while cashing millionaire paychecks.

Stockwell’s nurturing will make Al Sharpton sound like an adult?

Parents need babysitters while their children are growing up.  MSNBC is paying its hosts not to.
