A&E says Phil Robertson can return to Duck Dynasty; GLADD responds

After only nine days, A&E backed off its suspension of “Duck Dynasty’s” Phil Robertson.

The suspension, sparked by controversial remarks Robertson said about homosexuals, outraged the show’s fans, who were instrumental in making it the top-rated reality program on cable TV, and second only to “The Walking Dead” among all programming shows, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The entire Robertson family was on hiatus for duck-hunting season, The Hollywood Reporter said, so no filming had taken place during the patriarch’s suspension.

A&E issued a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, saying:

As a global media content company, A+E Networks’ core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people’s homes, and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principles.

That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phil’s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the “coarse language” he used and the misinterpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would “never incite or encourage hate.” We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article and reiterate that they are not views we hold.

But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family … a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.

So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.

We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.

GLADD’s national spokesman responded Friday night with the following brief statement of disapproval:

Phil Robertson should look African American and gay people in the eyes and hear about the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists. If dialogue with Phil is not part of next steps then A&E has chosen profits over African American and gay people – especially its employees and viewers.

Chris Stone, founder of Faith Driven Consumer, questioned A&E’s sudden turnaround.

“Despite our celebration, we remain uncertain of A&E’s true intent,” Stone said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Today, in the network’s statement of their core values – centered on ‘creativity, inclusion, and mutual respect’ – Faith Driven Consumers are left wondering whether A&E considers us to be a part of America’s rich rainbow of diversity. Do they also now embrace the biblically based values and worldview held by the Robertson family and millions of Faith Driven Consumers?”

A&E said the entire family would resume filming in the spring.

… should look African American …

    Given:
☛ Current scientific dogma states that the species Homo sapiens arose from Africa.

    Therefore:
☛ Every human can trace their roots to Africa.
    ☛ Every American is African-American.

    • Robert Laurel

My family is from England and Germany. Although I do have a cousin that got knocked up by a black guy.

      • cHUCK

Are you a U.S. citizen? If so, you have neither the duty or privilege of claiming hyphenated ethnicity.

      • nicholasi

        Rape? Or m-sharkism?

        • Billy Bumtrip

          LOL!

    • eaglestalon

For believers, we were created by God and not evolved from Apes. And since the Left is so big on “democracy” and the value of the “majority” I am correct in the eyes of about 75% of Americans who believe in God and the teachings of the Bible.

That said, GLAAD has had their asses handed to them by the masses of people who saw their actions to remove Robertson for what it was, a cowardly cave in to a tiny % of PC losers who have nothing better to do than tell others what they should say, do and even for heavens sake believe .

      • Kimber_TLE

I said, and I quote: “Current scientific dogma states”

        The operative word is? Anybody?

        • Bill_Fan

          Dogma.
I picked up on it too. Lol

        • Ironwulf

My Karma ran over your dogma!

          • DixieAngel_76

            Ba da bing!

          • BlueMax372

            Excellent!

        • Bob A

Dogma is a religious belief. They are practicing the religion of humanism, not science.

        • kimberkid

I know imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, kimber_tle, but get your own freakin name!! *lol*

        • auntielib

          Dogma.
          Good pickup, Kimber.

          “Current.”

      • Mr Keith Charles Johnson

Amen Brother!! I had previously posted that A&E should tell GLAAD to “suck it up buttercup, and get on with their lives”. It appears that is what happened. Kudos to A&E.Thank God. I realize that A&E was just looking at dollar signs, but the right outcome was still accomplished.

        • kimberkid

          Here, here!!

        • Lexie’s Dad

GLAAD does represent 3.5% of the population…(searches for sarcasm font)…

          • curmudgeon

Probably more like 1% of the population at best (Worst?). I have known very few sexual deviates in my 70 years and believe me, I was never sheltered.

          • DixieAngel_76

I have met and worked with several homosexuals (men and women) over the years, most of whom I was friends with. Those tended to be the ones who lived and let live, if you know what I mean.

          • RealityAlwaysBites

Living under a rock with a bible is considered sheltered by anyone with a brain.

          • Mr Keith Charles Johnson

I looked, and couldn’t find a solid percentage number for GLAAD members or how much of the population is represented, but I do believe that 3.5% is “pie in the sky” by anybody’s estimation.

          • curmudgeon

You sound like another liberal retard so can undoubtedly answer your own question. Would you not feel more at home over at Moveon, Daily Kos or the Huffpo with your fellow travelers? Back under your bridge troll!

          • l penn

Look in the mirror for your answer, you will see a LOSER for sure, spewing such Crap as you do! DUH!!

        • Jackie Morrison

I kind of agree with you, I figure A&E finally realized that more rednecks watch the show than gays or blacks and went with the money
I would bet that brother Jesse left the meeting with A&E talking to himself, that is if he was even invited to the meeting

          • Kriegar

Regardless of whom exactly watches the show itself, I also watch A&E, and would quickly dump them, with prejudice, if they had chosen to continue in the course of pandering that they were following.

          • RealityAlwaysBites

Rednecks aren’t rich… they are just tasteless, that’s why the watch the duck screwers on A&E.

The duckfkr moron is against homosexuals but supports bestiality and incest, typical religious fruitcake.

          • Susan Miller-Pitzer

If you knew what you were talking about, perhaps people would read your drivel. Read the Bible then speak or shush !!

          • VT Patriot

You are one really, really sick SOB. You need serious help.

        • CATHIE SUMMERS

AMEN the people spoke and they listened

          • Kriegar

Money spoke-what we our opinion in and of themselves meant to them was very likely little to none.

          • Katherine Noel Mumford

funny only businesses “listen” to us…congress sure DOES NOT..BUT congress is supposed to without regard to $$$$….what a joke!

          • DixieAngel_76

If only we could get the government to do the same. *

          • curmudgeon

Does this site seem overly ‘blessed’ with extreme leftist trolls? Seems they have nothing better to do than show their ignorance while living off their welfare checks or parents.

        • Kriegar

Sadly, the only reason that the right outcome was accomplished, was also all about dollar signs.

Bunch of PC bs, and a hypocritical response that was obviously going to be damaging to profits, and liable to reconsideration from the get-go.

        • RealityAlwaysBites

A&E = Assholes and Eunuchs… just a bunch of moronic ball less wonders.

Only true cowards won’t stand up to the religious zealot retards.

          • Susan Miller-Pitzer

Your obvious bias against another’s opinion makes you look less than intelligent. Hate much? I will pray for you, too.

          • CATHIE SUMMERS

I will pray for you, God knows how much you need it, I also call on all my brothers and sisters of faith to pray that God our father helps you and shows you his love and opens your eyes but mostly opens your heart to love.

      • kimberkid

        Absolutely, ‘eaglestation’…

      • Robbysh

GLADD has gotten cocky with all their victories.

        • CATHIE SUMMERS

          thank GOD

          • DixieAngel_76

I agree, but that would only be the beginning. So much damage has been done to this once proud and might nation by whole ‘armies’ of unelected bereaucrats that it would occupy Congress’ time for decades to undo. That is, provided we could find enough honest people to elect to Congress who had a will to do so.

          • CATHIE SUMMERS

Well we need to start some where and if we don’t tar we will never get this country back on track

        • RealityAlwaysBites

and the religious aren’t cocky after 2000 years of exploitation of the retarded?

          • VT Patriot

I’m sorry we’ve exploited you. We should be more tolerant of ‘mentally imbalanced’ like you. My apologies.

        • curmudgeon

The deviates just got their nasty noses rubbed in their mess.

      • old sarge

I agree because I believe every word of the Bible as the word of God. In it he creates man and woman. The only part of the scriptures that is in question is when Cain went to the land of Nod and took unto himself a wife. I think the answer can be found in the Jewish scriptures.

        • Boagrius

And he orders Joshua to murder every single living creature in the cities he captures. Men, women, children, babies, old people, the crippled, animals, every living being. And if you dare say to me “let His will be done”, I say how about we tie your brain washed sheeple ass over a fence and let some horny horse have a go at you. Sounds rather Biblical to me.

          • old sarge

Sounds like you are a member of GLAAD. God punishes all sinners so the old testament has God taking out his judgment on people. The great flood is a good example. The people turned their back on God.

          • Boagrius

No sarge, I am not a member of GLADD and you or anyone else couldn’t pay me enough money to ever be a member of such a filthy communist heathen organization.

Truthfully sarge, no one, not even ordained pastors & ministers have been able to explain the justification for what Joshua did. To slaughter helpless women, children, babies, the old and infirm, and animals makes no sense to me and it never will. I don’t understand how a loving God could order a Godly man as Joshua to do that and Joshua actually doing it without question. That’s human savagery at it’s best.

What? Are you saying that if God came to you and told you to slaughter your family that you would do it? No questions asked? If he came to me and gave such an order, I’d simply tell Him that He is God and he can do His own dirty work. I will not slaughter innocence in His name.
He is not going to give me the commandments, one of which tells me thou shalt not kill, and on the other tell me to go a slaughter the innocent and helpless in His name.

Sorry Sarge, that old time religion is not good enough for me.

          • Kriegar

First of all, it is not for you to understand. And second of all, have you ever heard of the Apocrypha?

Who is to say if all of the information was available, or is even there? Move on to what you are able to understand, and stop worrying so much about that which you cannot. It isn’t an entire book of tomorrows, but it does have a lot of yesterdays. Stop being infantile and silly.

          • Boagrius

And o blessed one, what gives you the authority to tell me anything? I read the passages. They were covered in Bible study. What I understand and don’t is none of your business. You are not my father. Besides, I wasn’t talking to you. When I want your hallow opinion, I’ll ask for it.

What I do understand is that Joshua murdered thousands of innocent people on orders from God. I will question that and that is between me and God. If you don’t like that, you can go thump yourself with a Bible.

Silly & infantile? Really? REALLY? really. Tell ya what Her Kriegar, you keep poking your nose into my business, you are going to find out just how silly and infantile I can really be.

            Good day!

          • RealityAlwaysBites

            Not for him to understand????

Only slaves and morons are happy not to understand. Faith is for the weak of mind.

          • curmudgeon

From one who has the state for a religion and Barack Hussein Obama as their Messiah. Have you indeed accepted The Won as your Lord and savior like the rest of the liberal sheep? Every try thinking for yourself? It’s not nearly as hard as it first seems.

          • DixieAngel_76

Go your way then, you have that right, but on judgement day you are in for a real surprise.

          • Boagrius

I do and I will and I don’t need your permission to do so. We’re all in for a big surprise come judgment day.

          • RealityAlwaysBites

Infinite punishment for finite sin…. yeah real loving god. Someone sins for 20yrs then dies, your evil imaginary being then roasts him over a fire for a trillion years, yeah really a just god…. HA HA you are such a loser.

          • curmudgeon

You sure are one amusing childish little self promoting person. Be nice to buy you for what you’re worth and sell you for what you appear to believe you’re worth. Capitalism would love dealing with products like you and your fellow travelers.

What is the air like on your planet?

          • old sarge

To you I may be a looser but in Gods I am not. Too bad you won’t get to find out.

The horse that you previously mentioned above, simpleton. My, but you’re kinda losing it, aren’t you? You should, perhaps, seek some emergency mental help. You sound like a dangerously ill person…or a conservative. Hell, what am I talking about, they’re usually one and the same.

          • DixieAngel_76

Actually, it’s not usually conservatives who go on insane rants like this, it’s usually your foaming-at-the-mouth liberal types who do. Most conservatives know better.

          • Kriegar

Indeed? Not from what I have seen. But, if you don’t broaden your information circles, I suppose it is possible to get a narrow view, just such as that.

          • Boagrius

Insane rants? Oh! Now you’re a Psychiatrist? And you dear lady are a self righteous judgmental know it all. Honey, if your brains were dynamite, you couldn’t blow your nose.

          • DixieAngel_76

Interesting how you respond to Old Sarge. You may want to go back and read the Bible again, that is if you are truly an honest seeker of the truth. There were actually whole societies on the earth (and America is very close to becoming one of them) who are so wicked that they are beyond repentance and they have no other function other than the moral and intellectual corruption of mankind. God knows that the good doesn’t often influence the evil, but it’s usually the other way around. Witness the sheer overload of information on vile sexual practices being crammed down the throats of kids as young as kindergarten in our public schools. Pay attention to the news and watch how evil, activist judges are now legislating from the bench, and how they are conspiring to deprive people of their religious liberty. See how many innocent, unborn children are being slaughtered on the altar of sexual ‘freedom’. What these young women are not being told is how dangerous and damaging abortions can be, and how often they will leave a young woman unable to ever again have a normal and healthy pregnancy. Indeed, planned parenthood thinks pregnancy is a disease, but I digress. Finally, the absolute vile, and hateful tone of your reply to old sarge tells me that you are an absolute hypocrite for condeming anybody.

          • Kriegar

An interesting segue into various and sundry topics-however, just because the law says what it says, that doesn’t even mean that a judge supports the things that the law requires. And certainly, militant right-wing judges have done more than their fair share of damage to this country, and the Constitution.

As far as abortions go, if you don’t want one, don’t have one. Just the same, the medical treatment someone else chooses to take is really not any of your business. Do you truly believe that the process of abortion is so carefree and simple as you advertise? Have you any real and actual experience with the subject matter? People, just like yourself, so adamantly opposed to abortion and birth control, have been among those very fine citizens who have, with all due hush-hush necessary to such an occasion, had these procedures done regardless of the law, historically, and would continue to do so. Why then, are others to be forced to listen to the rhetoric of the conservative, who only wants a child when it is in the womb, but not when it is time to feed the child that could not be afforded, and wishes to withhold medical services from women who cannot afford them, while crying deep rivers over the non-supporting or philandering men who were right there to help them get into these situations?

Your faction would do quite well to stop trying to obstruct the rights of women, and focus more on the cramming of sexual material and information down the throats of children. But still, even that much denies all of the old skeletons in the family closets of so very many people. Sex education doesn’t create sexual children, curiosity does, or power and control issues. Or daddy, who loves his little girl just a “touch” too much. Sexual freedom, in the most real sense of the word, is the freedom to choose your partner, and have defense against those random animals who think that they have a right to do the choosing for you. And, in any event, were you deflowered before YOU were married? Or are you the virginal, white glove kinda gal?

          • Boagrius

These cities that I refer to were in the Jew’s promised land. The Jews found it much easier to commit genocide than to try and assimilate these people into their culture. But Heaven forbid, we couldn’t have God’s chosen people mixing blood with a race not theirs. That would be sacrilege.

I am quite aware of what that communist bastard in the White House has done to this country in the last 5 years. I was 19 years old when Roe vs Wade was passed. I don’t watch the news anymore because of it’s biased reporting and the subjects it tries to cram down our throats. Take being gay for instance. If someone comes out, the media is all over them singing the praises of their sexuality making them an instant celebrity. Filthy disgusting perverted tripe.

Save your preaching for some other brain washed born again sheeple. I’ve heard it all. I was married to one for 10 years. Back stabbing good for nothing hypocrite. I wouldn’t throw a life preserver to a drowning born again Christian. God can have them back.

          • RealityAlwaysBites

“beyond repentance” sounds like the church and parasites that run them.

          • Boagrius

Interesting how you stick your holier than thou self righteous judgmental nose into other people’s business. Oh wait! You’re a born again Christian. You have the God given right to judge others………NOT!!! “Judge not less ye be judged” “Let he/she who is without guilt cast the first stone”

Sweep your own door step Dixie darlin’ before you find yourself in a world of crap you can’t deal with.

          • Boagrius

“if the shoe fits” WTF does that have to do with what I told old sarge? You comparing me to Joshua? Great! I’d attack the Capital building, the Supreme court and the White House and kill every living creature in there. But not Obama, his sasquatch, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein or all of the other communists, including the RINO’s, who are destroying our government and way of life. They all get dragged out and lynched on the steps of the Capital. THat especially goes for that

          • old sarge

I am sorry you feel that way. If you read the old testament only then you get half of the story/history. In the new testament Jesus tells us he has come to tell God’s way from that part of the history to the end in
Rev. Oh maybe you don’t believe in God and find the points in the old testament to suit your ideas. God will still Bless you.

yes GLADD sure did and it is about time

      • Kriegar

Well, in all actuality, many that you might personally consider to be “on the left”, do believe in democracy, and unlike so many on the right, we believe that the right of free speech applies whether it is Duck Dynasty people, or the Dixie Chicks. So, for our support of your position, please remember that when you are ready to attack the expression of opinion that you choose to disagree with.

        • QueenGossip

You believe in democracy? It is democracy when the majority of the public decides for themselves to boycott Dixie chicks because they, themselves, found them offensive. ( liberals were free to support them.. no one is made to join a boycott) It is NOT democracy when a minority group shuts down a program and/or a business because they think the public should be offended. It is fine for those who were offended by Phil’s comments to stop supporting him as well. Just like many chose to do with Dixie chicks. That’s not a dictatorship like you’re suggesting happened with the dixie chicks. Glaad believes they are running a dictatorship and instead of allowing people to make a choice, they jump in and decide for us.

          • Kriegar

            1. It is democracy when a company has a right to hire and fire at will, as conservatives prefer it.

            2. GLAAD doesn’t believe or disbelieve anything, by what’s shown in this incident. Rather, they and their membership, did no more than Robertson, the Dixie Chicks, or you and I are doing here-except that he was Robertson was directly asked for his opinion, and GLAAD was not. You and I, of course, were the moment they added a comment section, as a venue to voice our opinions. And you conservatives certainly did no less than GLAAD has done here, with the whole demanding this and that, and calling radio stations and other corporate entities to try to have them shut out. In my OP, I suggested no such thing as a dictatorship, so I’m not exactly sure where that comes from-but I would point out that A&E is only responsible to the dictatorship or democracy of their board, and their stockholders, not to the Democracy of our country.

            3. In any event, in my opinion, the Dixie Chicks, nor Phil Robertson, should be penalized for voicing their personal beliefs, nor expressing their religious views when directly asked by someone. In that event, I do not believe with at-will employment standards,, and I do believe in Free Speech, and I believe that it applies to your job as well. But, in any event, those are my personal beliefs and opinion on the matter, and of course, you are free to opine and believe whatever you wish.

          • eaglestalon

I don’t blame GLAAD one bit because they simply demanded Robertson be fired. Free speech and all that. It is the weaklings at A&E who look the fools because they caved first to a small hysterical group of people and then caved AGAIN when reality smacked them upside the head. All their high sounding rhetoric about ideals etc went right out the window as soon as they saw their viewership #’s DRP 71% the first night after the story broke.

          • LMW51

A&E’s right to hire and fire is not a Democracy – it is the Capitalistic Free Market – one is government one is business. When the two are mixed (as in the debacle of Obamacare and the over regulated market we currently have) is when problems arise.

        • eaglestalon

Your position is weak. In the case of Robertson, his opinion led to the removal of him from the show and by the actions of his employer DIRECTLY effected his ability to earn a living. In other words he LOST HIS JOB for his exercising the right of free speech.

In the case of the Dixie Chicks, their employer did not terminate them but the PUBLIC by virtue of their choosing to NOT buy the products of the Dixie Chicks caused them to lose money.

A&E caved in for one reason and one reason alone. There overnight viewers DROPPED 71% on the evening of the day this story broke and the suits at A&E panicked as they saw the massive cash cow this show was disappear before their very eyes. So much for their stated claims of “concern” for all types, etc, etc.

A&E simply looked at the miniscule # of gays in America who may decide to tune out the show and weighed it against the MILLIONS they would lose in both viewers and profits if they continued with the suspension.

Both GLAAD and the A&E executives are looking like major league fools at this point and in my view this whole episode will have a major impact on what media companies do in the future when harrassed by minority groups over some imagined slight.

          • LMW51

Duck Dynasty rose up so quickly and so determinedly….We are over the political correct police silencing everyone but a Liberal in the public square.

We had seen an elementary school take any mention of Christ the Savior (is born) from a religious song in order to not offend anyone a few days before; we had been watching as Christians in our military were being discriminated against in order to offend no one.

It had gone to the point of offending Christians and Conservatives and needed to be stopped.

This is not the end of the battle to protect freedom of speech for all against the political correctness police; we will need to stand up again and again.

      • Brian Davids

What does being black have to do with being homosexual? Is A&E claiming that all blacks are homosexuals?

        • Kriegar

No-I think that this was in reference to some other remark that Robertson made-or Paula Deen.

          • Brian Davids

And yet, no such race remark has been quoted.

        • DixieAngel_76

Robertson commented that as a young man he worked in the field alongside blacks (in the pre-welfare days, according to him) and he said he didn’t recall any of them being unhappy or ‘singing the blues’ but said they were Godly and happy people. Someone tried to spin that into saying that he was somehow defending Jim Crow laws with that.

          • Brian Davids

So in other words, just PC mudracking.

      • RealityAlwaysBites

SO WHAT! Some ignorant millionaire liar likes to screw ducks on tv dressed as a drooling redneck moron from the swamp. The only people dumb enough to care what the moron said are the other drooling cretins from the swamp.

A&E is a has been, useless network obviously run by cowards and morons.

      • Dan Jarrett

So you admit the Right doesn’t believe in democracy or evolution and therefore science but does believe in fairy tales.

      • l penn

We need to continue to have these Obamabot Convenient Idiots have their asses handed to them and Recalled and Impeached!! Keep this Going!!!

    • Dick Finder

Irish is Irish, you “Wanker”. Every American, is a Visitor, unless your a Native American, you Moron.

      • rhcrest

Wrong. The Indians are not “native Americans”. They came over an ice mass that connected Russia and Alaska at the time and displaced the population that was here at the time. That was how things were done back then. This information is readily available in any 6th grade history book.

        • Dick Finder

Prove it. The only Ice Mass, is up your Gay Butt, Boyo.

          • J. C. Smith

Well, that was a little rude.

          • ginger

hey, dick finder seems to be one of those who get paid for making rude, crude posts. so let’s all ignore it (him or whatever)

          • Dick Finder

No pay involved. My Reward is making a Liberal “Stroke-Out”, and get to Hell a wee bit earlier than expected. Teddy Kennedy needs Company. George Carlin is Boring…………..

          • Kriegar

Oh please-any real conservative is entirely more interested in their participation in closet homosexuality and self loathing. Hence their concern over everyone elses’ “gay butt”.

          • debpsu2

admit it you are in the closet

          • disqus_2Vt2rvVJSF

Yes, almost as rude as the ‘pole smokers’ get when you disagree with them or question the sustainability of their lifestyle…

          • Kriegar

Just the same way bigots do, I see.

          • DixieAngel_76

More than a little rude, and quite immature.

          • Well Done

Been proven long ago, queerbait. Besides, it’s not who got here first, it’s who got here best. Natives were in the Stone Age when the Euroloons arrived. Claiming it’s yours, centuries later, won’t fly, regardless how stupidly the laws are written and how activist the judges are.

          • Kriegar

Give it a rest, as with any conquered land, it was there for whomever would take it. The native Americans were certainly not above taking themselves, so get over it and move on.

          • rhcrest

LOL! I am a woman and speak for yourself PERVERT

          • Dick Finder

You think your a Woman, But that “Attitude and Penis” say your just confused. And it is Mz. Pervert to you Byatch Boy.

          • Kriegar

And your own focus on that which YOU consider gay says you’re quite confused yourself.

It’s very sad that you can’t be a little more secure in your own masculinity, but that doesn’t mean you get to stick your tongue out at the rest of the class, young man. Hopefully, you’ll improve before you leave grade school.

          • Jackie Morrison

hey butt boy, the bearing strait freezes almost every year and it is not that far between Russia and Alaska

          • Kriegar

            Not a Darwinist either, then?

        • rphunter

So how far back do you have to go? I was born here, so that’s all it takes. Not sure if Obama was, but I am sure I was. So that makes me a native American, as were ALL my recent ancestors, and many of my not so recent ones. And, yes, there were so Irish, and Germans in the mix too.

          • RPW

That is exactly right, If you were born here you are legally American. If you legally immigrated here you are legally American. If you are legally an American, embrace the couture and have the goal to assimilate or have assimilated in the American couture then you are American at heart. If you were born here or immigrated here legally or illegally or your ancestors were brought here against their will and your focus is primarily on where you came from then your heart is other then American and you will never truly be American.

          • Kriegar

            “American couture”

You do realize the couture is not a term usually referred to in your ancestral lineage, right? I mean, American couture really has very little to do with any of this-that stuff is for the fashion police.

          • reggiec

What is really interesting is to trace your genealogy as far back as possible. I can trace mine back to 670 AD. What I found was that I am a Heinz 57 variety human being. With all the ancient invasions, trade routes, and assimilation throughout history; no one is racially pure. We are all a hodgepodge of just about every racial end ethnic group that ever existed.

          • pen44

Yup, reggiec, most of us are Heinz 57′s, even Europeans are mixes of Celts, Vikings, Saxons, Anglos, Franks, Teutonics, Visigoths, the list goes on&on&on&on.

          • Boagrius

Would not surprise me in the least. However, I do wonder about the Northern European countries that were never conquered by Rome.

          • Kriegar

Certainly, the way being “native american” is passed down, there is not a whole lot to that claim. Hell, I’m native American, but it depends upon whether it is through the maternal line, or the paternal whether you have a right to lay claim to your heritage, apparently.

        • madeuce42

There was another migration one from what is now Europe it came down the Eastern US. The Difference in artifacts such as arrow heads and spearheads enable them to be tracked

          • Well Done

Don’t forget the migration that saw Europeans spread first to Eastern N. America, then Central America, proceeding Westward and Northward. It’s documented in any number of movies, often called “Westerns”.

          • Boagrius

The Spaniards invaded South America and worked their way north through Central America finally stopping in and around South West North America. They murdered, enslaved and literally exterminated millions of the native inhabitants with diseases brought over during their conquests.

Now, the evil Northern Europeans, namely the British, after conquering the eastern part of the US, ventured west making the Louisiana purchase and when they came upon the Southwest, they kicked the Spaniards ass and then kicked them back across the Rio Grande River and took the rest of America for herself.

        • Edward Slusser

Most of our history books are now incorrect since the Democrats have brought in common core. Now you must learn to be a Muslim.

          • Kriegar

            Oh boy. Here we go.

You do realize that our history books have a habit of being incorrect under conservative direction, right?

And that history is written by the victor?

        • Ron Adkins

The people that were encountered here by those that discovered this land came here from somewhere, but they became native Americans when this land was named America. Anyone that came after that may be American, but only those here at the time of discovery can be Native Americans.

          • rhcrest

Really. And who made those rules up? Progressives? LOL!

          • pen44

Ron, even the natives have only been here for 500,000 years, give or take a few thousand years…….

          • Kriegar

Wow-you really need some help with common-knowledge facts, don’t you?

          • Kriegar

And exactly how many of those are not of native american descent today. I mean, let’s try to be realistic, shall we?

          • Kriegar

Really, not even necessarily native, but indigenous.

        • disqus_2Vt2rvVJSF

You believe the garbage they teach in Public School 8th Grade History? Really?Remember this is the same bunch that made kids read malarkey about Billy’s two daddies and Susie’s ‘other mommy’. Besides, the crossing of peoples across a northern ‘bridge between Alaska and Russia is better fiction than Star Trek! No one was there who recorded history, so it remains a THEORY…and not a really good one either. Trust me. American Indians are Native Americans. Then in moved the “Euro-trash”!

          • rhcrest

So the American Indians were here since the beginning of time? Prove it.

          • Kriegar

            Exactly.

          • Boagrius

Really? REALLY? really. Hey! You’re entitled to your opinion. Lets not be so judgmental toward someone else whose opinion differs from yours. There is more anthropological and archaeological evidence that says the America Indians migrated over a land mass between Russia and Alaska(the bridge was due to the massive ice sheets from the Ice age lowering sea levels at the time) down to the Americas then says they evolved here.

          • Kriegar

Get over yourself-there was never a such thing as an “Indian” in North America up to that time. It was merely a mistake of ignorance and eyesight.

Whatever those people were, they were still connected to south America, and were likely of origin from that direction. But they were most assuredly NOT “Indians”

        • pen44

rhcrest, there actually were NO people here before the so called natives arrived. They seem to have come to Northern America & South America around the same time. And, don’t forget that there was more land stretching out because of all of the water caught up as ice in the Ice Age. Archeologists have concluded that the space between Europe and North America wasn’t that great. And, when you consider that Ireland & the British Isles were not islands then, just part of the greater European land mass at that time, going from there to a larger Iceland, to an even bigger Greenland, to present day Nova Scotia, would be quite achievable.

          • Kriegar

Northern Ice Bridge, southern land bridge, either or. And there is evidence of meteor impact in the creation of the Gulf of Mexico, so let’s include that in here also. No way those people popped up here in an ecological vacuum. I agree with you, and those other folks are merely inadequately informed. You know the quote, “It’s easier to fool people, than to convince them they were fooled”? That apples well to your opponents in this conversation.

        • Kriegar

Let’s not forget land bridges to the south, either.

      • Linda Galli

I was born in the US, just as my parents were. I may be of European descent but I am American. Your native Americans were also descended from from people of other continents. DNA tests have proven this to be fact. It has only been in the last hundred years that the victors of war have given countries back to the concurred. To the victor go the spoils.

        • Dick Finder

Read what Linda wrote. End of argument………………..

          • Well Done

            Huh?

          • disqus_2Vt2rvVJSF

            Should be “Ignorant Dick”….just sayin’.

          • Dick Finder

“Just saying”? Oh, a Joe Biden Retard………………

          • Kriegar

What was that vice Presidents’ name that came along with Shrub one? That guy was as dim as Shrub two, and Nixon was as obscenely spoken as Joe Biden. Do you have a point you were trying to express?

        • ginger

So it follows that those who were found in Africa are not necessarily “native” either and came from somewhere else…no one can prove that Africa is the origination point. All conjecture.

          • Robbysh

Indeed. Yes, the evidence we have suggests an origin in Africa, but that does not rule out the discovery of new evidence. Finds are just that. What I find annoying is the certainty in the voices of the discoverers. All a matter of chance.

          • disqus_2Vt2rvVJSF

Humans all came from extra-terrestrials mating with apes….thus the missing link in evolution….you bunch of pillow-biting butt pirates….

          • Boagrius

Africans are the prime example of extraterrestrials splicing human DNA with ape DNA. I don’t care how racist it sounds. You take a picture of an ape and put it side by side with a picture of an African and there is a striking resemblance.

          • Kriegar

            WOW…………..

        • Robbysh

Stands to reason. There is a new theory that the Indians reached North American traveling by boat from Siberia along the southern edge of the icesheet to the Colimbian area. Europeans could have come the same way to, say, New England. The evidence is that humans were constantly migrating and boats and rafts were invented early on.

        • curmudgeon

You mean you don’t even have to use a hyphen so we’ll all know your preferred ethnic group (s)? Amazing. The moment I see a hyphenated name or ethnicity I realize they are not American’s.

        • disqus_2Vt2rvVJSF

“DNA Tests have proven…” LOL Linda, did you forget we ALL can from one male (Adam) and one female (Eve)….so your DNA is meaningless….funny how you want to ‘prove’ things with science. Were the Mayans also French? They were short, ugly and practiced despicable acts of sacrifice….humm, maybe they were also French after-all….

          • Jim

Well Adam & Eve were pretty cool but then don’t drop out Noah. Remember the earth was covered by water and if you missed the boat, well – that was that. AND, have been keeping up a little with recent finds etc. and now they are saying that artifacs (whatever) have now been found, located, discovered (?) that date back to time before Africa, those found – where – South America. Sorta, kinda, maybe casts doubts on who went where how and why. It all amazes me that these experts (and I’m sure they are), if they can’t find a real reason it boils to them saying, we believe based on what we surmise that this is what may have happened. The findings are there but leave the guess work out, even stuff that is found that is ages old, how much more stuff has not been found so don’t think you have the answer. Don’t be guessing, you’ll still get your paycheck.

          • ajivani

We all came from Adam and Eve, huh? So when Cain and his sister took off after murdering Abel and his sister, Cain went and founded the great city of Enoch. Apparently they did so … without a single other person around?

          • Kriegar

Of course, you do realize who were Cains’ parents, correct?

          • ajivani

Lilith and Satan, of course. Do you know the whole story?

      • oldagg

Dick – the “Native” Americans came over from Asia on the Bering Straight land bridge – to be consistent in the application – there are NO native americaqns – only 1st immigrants!!

      • Jerry

Actually Native Americans are also visitors from Mongolia.

      • Douglas Morris

and “native americans” originally came over a land bridge from China…Wanker, Moron? really?, read a book and believe your own theory of evolution…man started in Africa and progressed from there…we all came from Africa in Darwinism!

        • Rabelrouser

I know it is a small inconvenient truth, but Darwin himself said his own theory was wrong based on the complex make up of one single body part in all mamals; the eye. The “evolution” discussion has gotten old, especially sence theroy never presents factual evidence.

        • Dick Finder

Yes, Really. When you are the FIRST, your not a VISITOR, Your the OWNER. Moron, wanker,

          • Well Done

Tell that to the Israelis, I’m sure they would agree. Here in N. America, not so much. Natives own kinda f__k all, really. We allow them to have land because we’re better than most of humanity through history, who were not nearly so kind to less advanced civilizations.

          • ajivani

They’re a conquered people. The conquered own nothing.

          • disqus_2Vt2rvVJSF

            True, first is FIRST!

          • Kriegar

The owner? Really? Not likely. To the victor go the spoils.

        • Guest

why can’t you have a civil discussion without name-calling? People don’t know how to respectively debate anymore. Sheesh!

          • disqus_2Vt2rvVJSF

So many morons….just not enough bullets

          • Dick Finder

            Simmer down Adolph

          • Boagrius

Debate is a learned skill. Otherwise, you argue a point how you were taught or what you observed growing up.

        • disqus_2Vt2rvVJSF

          Darwin LIED!!

          • Kriegar

            meh-he merely theorized.

      • emiliani

Who also started their “visit” from India/Asia. It’s not really logical to describe the civilization that replaced the disparate Native populations as visitors anymore, though some ethnic studies professors are reluctant to admit the obvious…mostly because they hate white, Christian European influences in the world. They hate Cortez but love the Aztec. One’s life and work ultimately liberated Natives from human sacrifice and slavery, while the other … well, did the enslaving and sacrificing. It’s been 500+ years. At what point does a visitor become a resident to you?

        • Today22011

The Aztec civilization was unbelievably cruel to those they conquered in Mexico,. Cut out sacrificial hearts of their conquered to their gods.

      • ginger

My people were here when the invaders landed. so unless you were, you are free to return to wherever you came from.

        • Well Done

LOL you and people who think like you are free to try and make us, weirdo. Your racist Imperialist ambitions remind me of a child who is planning to remodel “his” house when his parents move out. Too fun!

          • Kriegar

Well, do try to remember that, the next time a black person is told the same thing-especially since they built a goodly number of our parents’ houses.

        • DMJo

I came from America. I was born here, so I am a native American.

        • disqus_2Vt2rvVJSF

          Agreed, Ginger.

        • Kriegar

Really? Which invaders, if I might ask? The Vikings?

Where did “your people” come from? And how non-”native” is your lineage now? When your people invaded, who was here before them? And when the invaders were invaded, what of that?

The whole “my people” versus “Invaders” thing is old. Time to move on. I see so many “native Americans” suggesting that “African Americans” do so, why is what is good for the goose not good for the gander, if I might inquire?

I have native american in my lineage also, does that entitle me? Hell, we’re lucky to have the ability to be sure our treaties are enforced and honored-let’s focus on that, instead.

      • Bob A

I suspect you are incorrectly referring to American injuns as Native Americans. They are not. The Pilgrims were native Americans. The injuns were and still are Native anti-Americans!

        • Kriegar

Semantics. They were indigenous people, at that time.

          • Bob A

Accuracy is important. The label native American is undeserved. Americans were not stone age savages unwilling the change. The injuns were and are today. Un American welfare slugs.

      • linreis

dear dick…you want to get technical…everyone on this planet is a visitor…home is Heaven…or hell.

      • DMJo

An international study was done on American Indian DNA, and the study concluded that American Indians came over to the Americas in three waves. Read the article for yourself: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/247747.php

      • pen44

Dick Finder, even the “native” Americans were immigrants as well. There are quite a few theories. One is the land bridge from present day Russia; another is the sea journey from Polynesia & Asia; and another is that the Clovis point arrow head has a match only in Europe, and was found in what is Virginia. The “natives” have been here approximately 500,000 years. Humankind are travelers, Dick, and “native” to Africa hundreds of thousands of years ago.

“With God, a day is but a thousand years, a thousand years but a day, just a watch in the night” (a paraphrase of Psalm 90:4 & 2 Peter 3:8)…He has no time limit for his creation, and recreation

        • Dick Finder

Who was here before the Native American? NO ONE, you freaking Psalm quoting Peckerwood. . Here is a Psalm for you. “Stifle Edith” Archie Bunker.

          • pen44

Ok, MIZ dick finder, I believe that I have been saying that NO ONE was here before +- 500,000 years ago. There are no “native” Americans, never were. BTW, it’s Mrs. pen44.

And, ginger, archeological & anthropological studies, findings, & evidence, have pretty much proven that humankind appeared first in Africa millions of years ago. We spread from there by land & sea….different landscapes, weather conditions & climate changes, have made us so different.

My Bible quote was merely to say that Genesis can be seen in a broader scope.

On what factual basis do you rest that assertion?

      • Boagrius

Uh. I was born here. I am an American. An American of Irish, Welsh, Scottish and British decent. My ancestors who first put their foot upon this land were visitors. After that, future generations of my family were all born here and thus were Americans.

      • Kriegar

Oh stop it. As if Americans have a corner on the market of invasion and intrusion, empire building, OR variations of bloodline, ethnicity and descent of national origin. Look up your own bloody history, you wanker-you’ve been invaded once or twice yourself, and members of the UK have certainly not been in any manner averse to empire build. SMH. Stop trying to be so holier than thou, you goof-a good many Americans came form Ireland.

        • Dick Finder

“Holier”, WTF is Holier? Did you even read what has been posted, you frigging retard? Now, get back to the basement.

          • Dick Finder

Learn to spell. At 14, I can, spell, what can you do, Kriegar? Can’t even spell your German name correct. It is Ie , and not ei. You Joe Biden Retard. Your own name. LMFAO.

Then, why are there still apes?

      • FirstAmendment

Exactly, if ‘evolution’ was accurate, then the apes would have been wiped out. Clearly evolution is a farce…

        • Kriegar

Not a farce, perhaps, but not considered rationally, either. I mean, it’s not like we have any apes dragging themselves out of the woods these days to attend college or anything.

      • oldagg

Bad argument “If we evolved from apes, why are there still apes today?”
In response to this statement, some evolutionists point out that they don’t
believe that we descended from apes, but that apes and humans share a common ancestor.
However, the evolutionary paleontologist G.G. Simpson had no time for this “pussyfooting”,
as he called it. He said, “In fact, that earlier ancestor would certainly
be called an ape or monkey in popular speech by anyone who saw it. Since the terms
ape and monkey are defined by popular usage, man’s ancestors were apes or
monkeys (or successively both). It is pusillanimous if not dishonest for an informed
        investigator to say otherwise.”

However, the main point against this statement is that many evolutionists believe
that a small group of creatures split off from the main group and became reproductively
isolated from the main large population, and that most change happened in the small
group which can lead to allopatric speciation (a geographically isolated
population forming a new species). So there’s nothing in evolutionary theory
that requires the main group to become extinct.

It’s important to note that allopatric speciation is not the sole property
of evolutionists—creationists believe that most human variation occurred after
small groups became isolated (but not speciated) at Babel, while Adam and Eve probably
had mid-brown skin color. The quoted erroneous statement is analogous to saying
‘If all people groups came from Adam and Eve, then why are mid-brown people
        still alive today?’

So what’s the difference between the creationist explanation of people groups
        (‘races’) and the evolutionist
explanation of people origins? Answer: the former involves separation of
already-existing information and loss of information through mutations; the latter
requires the generation of tens of millions of ‘letters’ of new
        information.

        • emiliani

Biological Science and Physics are becoming increasingly clear — or at least increasingly less antagonistic — of the conclusion that there was, or could have been, a begetter and an initial cause (creator). And Evolutionary Theory has been shrinking as well (not in numbers who support it, but in observable data and fossil records supporting it) This, of course, has been consistent with Jewish and Christian beliefs from long before the scientific method, telescopes, or super computers. It’s just good to see science backing up our 3,000 + year conclusions.

        • Kriegar

Perhaps evolutionists simply got it backward, and the apes descended from the humans.

I will inquire of Magilla the Gorilla, next time we have coffee together at our local Starbucks….

The Bible speaks in allegory . Very early history presumes the Garden of Eden to have been in North Aftrica or Middle East, Still allegorical, Cain after killing his brother went or was sent North . Does anyone believe that was the end of Cain and where does his story continue?

        • ajivani

Well, he and his wife went and founded the city of Enoch, according to the Bible. Unless it was just the two of them deciding they made a city, there were other people around (unless you believe the canard that Lilith had 100 kids a day, which would make most people likely descended from her and Cain, not Adam and Eve.)

    • Garys_opinion

Although this appears to be true, evolution has played part in giving humans different traits. For example people living on the equator developed darker skin to help them deal with an abundance of ultraviolet light, the farther north you go the lighter the skin so that more sunlight can be absorbed. Of course the ability to travel long distances has stirred this evolutionary factor all up.

Every American did not come from Africa. My family has always been Vikings. All blacks are not African-American either. Very few are. To be African-American one has to be born in Africa. Few blacks can make that claim. Most were born right here in America, and therefore are Americans just like whites that are born in America. Why do black people insist that they are not Americans and try to become African. Perhaps there-in lies the problem.

      • Well Done

You’re right, Edward, referring to a geographical area for racial reference is actually rather stupid. I don’t often see people claiming “Irish American” race, or “Greco American”. “African American” is racist stupidity.

Your children born on this soil are American whose parents are Italian american. Your children will be American and if they wish to out a hypen in the term that defines them they can. IF YOU SET FOOT ON FOREIGN SOIL YOU WILL BE CALLED AMERICAN.

      • Kriegar

Do you realize how silly you’re being? One has to do with ancestry and bloodline, the other with Nationality. There is no such nationality bloodline as “American”. If there were, it would be Italian, a la Amerigo Vespucci

        • Kriegar

White American, black American, Asian American, European American, are all valid terms.

    • Robbysh

They need to be careful. That Africans are not as highly evolved! However, the Africans who the most ancient inhabitants are the Bushmen, who –I think–are more closely related to the aborigines of Australia. All African-Americans are Bantu, and the Bantu originated in a certain place and then have spread all over the continent., None were in what is now South Africa until relatively recently.

    • pen44

And your point is Kimber_TLE? Yes, all humans evolved from an African Eve….hundreds of thousands of years ago. And, if a person is of European, Eastern European, Russian, or northern Turkish lineage, you very, very likely have some Celtic & Viking ancestors. The Celts immigrated from the area of present day Turkey across the European continent to the farthest western tip of present day Ireland. And the Vikings sailed to, and traded with, every nation that bordered the Atlantic, Baltic & Mediterranean seas…sometimes, the two cultures settled along the way and blended with the locals. The name Russia comes from the name that the peoples along the rivers called the Vikings…the Rus, who used the rivers to get from the Baltic Sea to Constantinople on the Mediterranean Sea. We are all a hodge-podge of peoples & cultures, Kimber_TLE!!

    • Boagrius

The vast number of racial crimes are Black on white, if the EEOC considered whites a protected class, they would be the primary victims of racial hatred in the US. But the EEOC and Justice Department refuse to consider whites worthy of racial protection. That is why Holder refused to prosecute the Black Panthers for Voter Intimidation and only prosecuted a white for the knockout game, It’s all about false statistics to keep the masses uninformed.

    • quillerm

I disagree. My oldest relative was a Chimpanzee named Oscar. Chimpanzee’s were the first to be launched into space and have sacrificed thousands in medical experiments to help keep man healthy via drug trials and surgical experiments. I know this to be true as humans like bananas.

    • old_salty_dawg99

Man did not come from Africa nor did it evolve from Apes. GOD made Man and we came from the area now called Iraq and Iran. But seeing that GOD made man in his image he could be any color or appear as any race since no one living knows what GOD looks like. Now since the Flood we all look different based on which of Noah’s sons we came from and what is in our back ground race wise. I look white but have a little black and a large amount of So called Native American in me. I say so called Native American since no matter what your belief is America was NOT populated before the Flood or before man supposedly evolved. So that means there are no such thing as Native Americans.

    • cHUCK

I’m a native born American of German extraction. I don’t consider myself a “German-American.” Most U.S. blacks were NOT born in Africa so can’t label themselves “African-Americans” any more than members of the various Indian tribes in what is now the U.S. can call themselves “Native Americans” We or our ancestors all came here from somewhere else at some point in history.

To quote Lloyd Marcus, I’m a proud UNHYPHENATED American. It’s time for us to stop – and reverse – the politically inspired divisiveness if hyphenated ethnicity in this country. We’re a nation of many backgrounds, but with one common bond – citizenship in the United States of America. Citizenship is not properly listed based on ethnicity, religion, or, as is currently popular, on gender or “gender preference.”

As U.S. citizens we’re properly labeled “Americans.” We can be proud of our personal cultural heritage, even celebrate it when appropriate, but if we are to rebuild what our founders created and intended as a nation of free people bound by Constitutional principles of liberty and justice for ALL, we absolutely MUST stop splintering our nation with hyphens. Regardless of from whence we or our ancestors came originally., we all are first and foremost Americans.

By hyphenating ourselves we ethnically fragment our society and lose the commonality of purpose that drove those who came to America in the early days. We can take pride in our ancestry, but we MUST take pride in and responsibility for the nation in which we were born and raised, and which has been – up until recently – the strongest, richest, most influential and most feared nation in the world.

        • Richard Erwin

          was it hatefull?

          • Ole Man

It was a whitewash of history–best way I know to say it. I’m not black, so I don’t know if it was hateful.
I just know, having lived in the South during Jim Crow, and having “helped” the movements to remove the same, that I don’t want to have to go through it again.
It apparently has really not gone away in many hearts and minds–simply read some of the commentaries posted here.
And its reemergence is a darn shame.

          • Kriegar

Well of course it is hateful. Not only is it something that he cannot personally speak to, but many people would find the very idea offensive, regardless of race.

          • Ole Man

Thank you for a civilized discussion on this topic. Very rare.

          • Richard Erwin

im gonna have to get this mag and read it

      • Well Done

Good point, Richard, I think the mixup may stem from how queers compare themselves to “blacks”, hoping to join in on the reparations bandwagon. That’s rather heinous, considering queers tend to have higher income than average. In fact, claims of any sort of entitlement due to “discrimination” of queers are iffy at best. People get mugged because they’re the wrong skin color, or simply because they appear to have money, or are female, or simply look vulnerable. To single out queers for entitlement because of “gay bashing” is odious.

        • Kriegar

Then don’t bash gays. Then you won’t have to be odious.

      • TexasJester

He basically talked about hoeing in cotton fields beside blacks, and everyone was poor. He said his family was “white trash”. He also said that the blacks were happy, industrious, Godly folk (at least as far as he could see “with my own eyes”). Once, after some event near Christmas that left them without money for Christmas, the local blacks passed the hat and raised almost $200 for them. He NEVER said he supported (democrat-favored) Jim Crowe laws, or any other kind of racism or discrimination.

      • Kriegar

I think it was said in an aside , elsewhere.

First off, there are no “gay” people, they are HOMOSEXUALS! Second, the HOMO Movement is all about TERRORISM and forcing their backwards views on every single one of us. GLAAD is an exact representative and example of that very thing, when THEY have the power to influence and persuade every single movie and TV show that comes out of Hollywood. GLAAD needs to be taken out, once and for all. (Through full public rejection, and peaceful means).

Duck Dynasty should have never expressed apologetic or regret for the “coarse statements” communicated in that GQ interview. It is 100% on point. A&E is a terrorist broadcasting station and should be put out of business.

    • curmudgeon

Have one more AMEN! I know you can’t legislate morality and I don’t really care what the queers stuff in their mouths, just don’t try and convince me that there is anything normal about their perversions!

      • badbadlibs

        Ah….but we do “legislate morality”.

The legislatures across this nation have said we can’t commit murder, we can’t do things that have potential to harm others (speeding for one), we can’t take what doesn’t belong to us. They have legislated “hateful” behaviors. On and on goes the list of moral behaviors that have been made law.

        MLK once said,

“Morality cannot be legislated, but behavior can be regulated. Judicial decrees may not change the heart, but they can restrain the heartless.”
He was saying laws can’t change the heart and you are both correct in that fashion, but it doesn’t negate the fact “morality is legislated”.

    • badbadlibs

To take it one step further, in the description of homosexual behavior, God calls them sodomites.
Of course, all Phil did was say the same in his own way and it is the description of their sexual behavior they somehow want to disguise.
Their only recourse is to change the terminology.
Someone asked me once why I “hated” gays. I returned with the fact that I went to school with a girl name Gay and I liked her just fine.
We have let the left win the first battle field of the culture war, the war of words.
Women “terminate” their pregnancies, they don’t actually kill their children. After all, that’s just a “fetus”.
Ask a woman if she’s ever attended a “fetus” shower.
