‘Duck Dynasty’ star suspended from show for opinion on homosexuals; conservatives outraged

The patriarch of the A&E series “Duck Dynasty” is in the middle of an entertainment world firestorm after being indefinitely suspended from the hit show over a magazine interview where he condemned homosexual sex.

philrobertson1219According to the Hollywood Reporter, A&E issued a statement late Wednesday branding “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson’s statements to GQ unacceptable and indicated beliefs that “in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who [sic] have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.”

“The network has placed Phil under indefinite hiatus,” the statement said.

In the GQ interview, Robertson called homosexual activity not only sinful, but illogical.

“It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” Robertson said. “That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

He paraphrased the Bible’s condemnation of the practice.

“Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God,” he told the magazine. “Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

The comment drew its own condemnation from the gay activist group GLAAD, which issued a statement Wednesday accusing Robertson of engaging in “vile and extreme stereotypes” of gay people.

On Wednesday, Robertson issued his own statement that didn’t deny the comments to GQ, but said he was only performing a duty to spread the word of the Bible.

“I myself am a product of the ’60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the Bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together,” the statement said.

“However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”

In a statement released after Robertson’s suspension, GLAAD praised A&E for squelching “unacceptable” views.

“What’s clear is that such hateful anti-gay comments are unacceptable to fans, viewers, and networks alike,” the statement said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “By taking quick action and removing Robertson from future filming, A&E has sent a strong message that discrimination is neither a Christian nor an American value.”

But conservatives reacted quickly, taking to Twitter to support Robertson and criticize the suspension.

Catch the new ACA ad for Gays. The Dems seem to think gays are horny and hot and should buy insurance.

Here we go again. The Chick-a-fila uprising all over again. That didn’t turnout how the gay community would have liked now did it? Neither will this one.
The hypocrisy has become quite clear to many of us, that the homosexual community wants everyone to be tolerant of them but they refuse to be tolerant of others, and very hateful and even violent towards those think think their perverse activates are morally wrong and repulsive.
Has it really reached that point in America when your own opinions about what is right and wrong would cause others to blow a fuse and demand your head on a stick?
It seems to me that if you (the gay community) are demanding that your lifestyle be accepted by everyone,by forcing it on those who are repulsed by it, and making our educators teach it to our children saying it is normal, then you should accept that other people think homosexuality is wrong. If you don’t that makes you a hypocrite.

$H!T just got real for A&E. LMAO, they are going DOWN!

Unacceptable views huh? Just goes to show that organizations like GLAAD have a corner on the acceptability of ideas..A&E as a media outlet should be ashamed of themselves. They have become nothing more than propaganda tools for liberals who try to ram their so-called “acceptable” ideas down our throats. The “thought police” now determine not only what ideas are “acceptable” but also WHO is acceptable. I hope Phil and his whole family walk away from these First Amendment cowards. A&E has shown it only has tolerance for one view point. Screw them!

Glenn Beck offered them the Blaze Network and I believe that they might go there, which would sink A&E quick and in a hurry.
