Hannity explodes as atheists’ disgusting assault on Christmas intensifies

It took less than a minute for things to get heated on Sean Hannity’s “War on Christmas” segment Friday night after American Atheists President David Silverman said, “Christmas is better without the religion.”

“The point that we’re trying to make is that there’s a whole bunch of people out there for who religion is the worst part of Christmas, but they go to church anyways and we’re here to tell them, they don’t have to,” Silverman told Hannity and Fox News Radio host Todd Starnes.

It was a release the kraken moment for Hannity who went off on Silverman telling him he was “full of crap” for denying that the his group operated simply to “offend people.”

“Would you put up a billboard ‘take Mohammed out of Ramadan’ and cross out Mohammed’s name?” Hannity asked, referring to Silverman’s group’s Times Square billboard that crosses Christ out of Christmas and reads, “Who needs Christ at Christmas.”

When the discussion turned to the Pentagon’s order to remove the nativity scene at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina last week, Starnes explained, “David, let me tell you this…Not one complaint was registered on that military base, not one,” Starnes said.

“Christians need to start obeying the law and they have to stop complaining when they are forced to obey the law,” Silverman said.

The shouting match that ensued was Hannity at his livid best, ripping into Silverman with disgust:

“You poor victim, you poor, innocent victim, oh the poor atheists that are all getting beaten up on by society.”

I’m amazed how Hannity keeps asking if Atheists are offended with all the Christian stuff thrown in our faces all the time but gets bent out of shape when we input what we’d like to share in the public using our First Amendment rights.

          • David Ewers

We do not hate religion, we just do not want it shoved down our throat, have you had a atheist appear at your door step preaching to you. Do you see Atheists with a bell and kettle at any place of business? How many Atheist TV stations are there? Atheist mega buildings fleecing the poor out of their many while the leader live in luxury. How many terrorist atheist groups are there? The vast majority of the hate groups in America are white Christian separatists and the good old fashion KKK

The so called religious leaders, make snake oil salesman look honest

          • Cindy Vallone

David Ewwwwwers, look up how many have been KILLED in the name of philosophers such as Marx and Nitche. Get back to me on that. Then let’s talk about how to erase all philosophers. In addition, I’d say the most popular religion right now is self-love and ADD. Kids with no discipline and the only higher authority they know are their own desires and lusts. Tell me how that’s working out for society these days.

          • David Ewers

The typical tea bagger response. They killed because of communism not religion. And that self love you speak of that is coming from the right not left. The GOP is the follower of Rand who promotes sekf love.

          • Kangaroo52

“Tea bagger” – there you go again, your trashy little sexual obsessions…

          • Theresa Easley

He always uses that term. He just assumes everyone is a Tea Partier. He is not here to debate civilly (per the name-calling).

He uses that term to be a chump! PERIOD!

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

You prove your ignorance again you buffoon. In any society,
both politics & religion goes hand in hand. You can’t deny this statement.
Both can be use as tools of power. But yeah, communists don’t believe in
anything, just like you. You do believe in the big bang theory, which by the way
is just a theory, nothing that you can prove concretely with your limited
            means.

          • David Ewers

Actually it was only until the 80′s did the GOP introduce the righteous right in called the moral majority, who when you looked at them they were not the majority nor were they moral. Remember the PTL club and the stealing from the flocks. Again you really are ignorant and stupid.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Again, why is it that all ancient civilizations did believe in a deity or deities? Look yourself in the mirror & apply your own
words to yourself. You think that you are going to supersede millenniums of social
practice. You are a buffoon & ignorant. Just a joke. Those that built the pyramids in the Giza plateau were certainly not atheists. This concept of yours just has a couple of centuries of existence, & sometimes you people don’t even know what you are talking about.

          • David Ewers

Because they wanted a way to describe a world that they knew nothing about. The believed a huge dragon swallowed the sun every sunset. They believed in fire birds when they saw falling stars.

Now about the pyramids, they beloved they mummified bodies would come back to life in another world and use the food and goods left to them in this world. Thanks for pointing out how wrong they were.

            Merry Christmas to you!!

          • David Ewers

Nothing in science is a absolute fact, we accept that, what we cannot accept is your religion says it knows the truth and no longer looks for the right answer.

Again if we believed in your religion, we would not have modern science, the vast majority of the population would not know how to read or write.

Also therehas not ever been a communist country never has been nor ever will be, they have been military dictatorship hiding behind a peaceful philosophy.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Don’t get me wrong, I have no religion; I have never claimed to have one. Still, I am open to the possibility, the possibility that there might be something more than humanity. I refuse to believe that mankind is alone in this dark universe. Quadrillions & quadrillions of stars in
various galaxies, all with planets…Plus, time & again, I have heard
brilliant scientists like Dr. Michio Kaku, or Neil deGrasse Tyson, about the possibility of life beyond Earth, even the possibility of other dimensions. Carl Sagan, an atheist, did acknowledge the possibility of other alternate realities, & life beyond Earth. So I cannot discard possibility either, because it might turn out to be factual.

          • David Ewers

you are very religious your rants are proof of it. When you try to quote Sagan and his or he realities, they were not of a heaven or hell. But if alternate or mirror dimensions. He hated religion and its capacity to stupefy the human race. Just rad his book, Demon haunted world.

Eminent Cornell astronomer and bestselling author Sagan debunks the
paranormal and the unexplained in a study that will reassure hardcore
skeptics but may leave others unsatisfied. To him, purported UFO
encounters and alien abductions are products of gullibility,
hallucination, misidentification, hoax and therapists’ pressure; some
alleged encounters, he suggests, may screen memories of sexual abuse. He
labels as hoaxes the crop circles, complex pictograms that appear in
southern England’s wheat and barley fields, and he dismisses as a
natural formation the Sphinx-like humanoid face incised on a mesa on
Mars, first photographed by a Viking orbiter spacecraft in 1976 and
considered by some scientists to be the engineered artifact of an alien
civilization. In a passionate plea for scientific literacy, Sagan deftly
debunks the myth of Atlantis, Filipino psychic surgeons and mediums
such as J.Z. Knight, who claims to be in touch with a 35,000-year-old
entity called Ramtha. He also brands as superstition ghosts, angels,
fairies, demons, astrology, Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster and religious
            apparitions.

So go back to school, you education is lacking

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

& you are a disgusting arrogant atheist,
who thinks that knows it all, in reality you are an extreme leftist, red,
socialist, atheist, liberal, progressive that has an agenda & follows that
agenda. Your education is lacking, prove to me the Big Bang theory, prove it if
you are not limited. Come on, say it, I want you to say that you are not
limited. I want you to say that you will not end like everyone else. Come on,
say it. I dare you. Again, science can answer so much, but it doesn’t have all
the answers. If you didn’t live in this time, you would not know science at
all. Maybe you would be a superstitious prank. Men are not the center of the
universe as you believe. As a matter of fact men are destroying this Earth, out
of greed, out of arrogance, out of even corruption. Those things you cannot
deny, they are factual, & you sir are not part of the solution. Don’t send
me back to school, been there, done it, finished it. I have nothing to prove to
you, but it is always a pleasure to bug arrogant self righteous pranks like you
that corrupt the minds & hearts of our youth, & of our society. That’s
            what you are, pure trash.

Sorry to state this, but you will fade away, & the faith of men will remain. You cannot kill faith in the hearts of men, it is part of what men is.

          • David Ewers

more ranting from the chief nut case.

Without a proper education, me trying to show you the concept of the big bang theory is like explaining electricity to a monkey.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

You know, I wasn’t even paying attention to this article, but now that you are posting what you are posting, I am going to post more, I need to defend a posture. Just to vex you. You are no professor or teacher. A true professor or teacher does teach, does answer questions, is humble enouhg to take the time to answer questions, you just ridicule those that don’t agree with you, so I am oblidge to do the same. But I will try to answer questions that people have. Have a nice day.)

Recently someone asked me what I thought was the single most aggravating argument against atheism. This was my answer:
The one that aggravates me off the most, probably because it’s repeated so often, is that “Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot were atheists, therefore atheism is responsible for mass murder.” There are so many flaws (both of fact and logic) with this argument that it is almost as worthless as the one that says Hitler was a promoter of the theory of Social Darwinism. Christopher Hitchens (among others) demolishes these arguments quite handily in “God Is Not Great,” so I won’t repeat them here. Just in case you don’t want to take my word that Hitler wasn’t an atheist though, here’s a few of the things he said about it:
“Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith …we need believing people.”
-Adolf Hitler, from a speech on April 26, 1933
“We were convinced that the people need and require this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out.”
-Adolf Hitler, from a speech on October 24, 1933
“For this, to be sure, from the child’s primer down to the last newspaper, every theater and every movie house, every advertising pillar and every billboard, must be pressed into the service of this one great mission, until the timorous prayer of our present parlor patriots: ‘Lord, make us free!’ is transformed in the brain of the smallest boy into the burning plea: ‘Almighty God, bless our arms when the time comes; be just as thou hast always been; judge now whether we be deserving of freedom; Lord, bless our battle!’”
-Adolf Hitler’s prayer, from Mein Kampf, Vol. 2, Chapter 13
These examples come, not from an atheist website, but from About.com, an excellent place for finding answers to lots of questions besides religious ones.
As far as Stalin and Pol Pot are concerned, while they likely were atheists, they did their killing, not in the name of atheism, but for a cult of the state that bore a very distinct resemblance to religion in the way it was practiced. Suffice it to say that the evidence that anyone commits mass murder in the name of atheism or rational thinking is pretty slim.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Plus, did I stated something about big foot, or angels, or elves for that matter? Don’t put stuff that I didn’t state. I am stating that I am open to the possibilty. I am also stating that you as a man are just limited. You are not God. Simply put, & no, you don’t know better than the rest of us either. You have much to learn. For starters, you need to learn humility. A quality you truly lack.

          • David Ewers

I do not believe in any pseudoscience, there is no proof what so ver to any of those beings. You might as well believe in everything then. I know am not god since I lack the belief in one so that just is a stupid comment made by you.

I know that have a better education than you, I know I see the world in a scientific and factual way. I do not believe there is someone making me do evil or good. I accept that I can do evil and good things. That is called taking reponcibilty for ones actions. You are your fellow nut cases out there blame a so called devil when you do bad. You are the ones who have to accept some truth about themselves.

You are the typical Christian I run into. The basis of all religions are good unfortunately they get people like yourself involved and corrupt the message. Your hate speech shows your true qualities. I am done with you nitwit, you have degraded into a blathering fool.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

LoL!!! The Prove that I have a great education is that I make enough money to be replying to you all day long, & all night. Enough money to pay for internet service, enough money to navigate throughout the net & find info. Don’t give me that B.S. of a poor excuse. You have no idea who are you dealing with. What?!? You think that you are the only one that has a higher education??? I just like to play dumb, unlike you, you are what you are.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

I stated that people need to keep an open mind to the possibility of things, nothing more, & nothing less. You on the other hand already made up your mind. Science is not about that; science is about the possibilities, & how to corroborate those possibilities. They said that men could never fly, but alas, men flew, just as one example. They said that men could not go underwater, but alas, men were able to conquer the oceans by submarine. There is always a possibility out there. This is a vast universe, & you are just so tiny.

          • SomeGalNTx

Don’t want to accept “my religion”?

Fine. Don’t. No skin off my back. Don’t care.
But why is it a problem for YOU that others DO believe ? So much so that you feel right in bashing and quashing any reference to a system of belief that is over 2000 yrs old?
Can’t have anyone be different than you?

I don’t fear you, but you seem to fear Christianity. Interesting.

          • David Ewers

So age of a religion now makes it correct, then you should be jewish or any other older religion. Next time think of a more inteligent answer jello for brains.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Quite interesting…without a Christian nation, science in the United States would have never flourished. It is a true statement. You people keep trying to deny history. & again, I have not professed any religion. You are fabricating words out of my writing. You got it; nothing in science is set in stone. Men are limited in his capacity to understand things, & will not deny that. As for faith, you people cannot delete more than 7,000 years of human history, & that includes religion as well, which was part of their political system as well. That means that you are also against humanities legacy, all ancient civilizations did profess a form of faith. Only you, the so called enlighten ones, think that you got it, & that you know the all the mysteries of the universe. As for your claim that there has never been a communist country, nor will there never been one, you are a BIG LIAR!!! & yes, I do spit it on your face, you LIE! Communism is not a peaceful philosophy…now you are starting to sound like an enemy of the state, as well as the United States of America.

          • Blake Rivers

The nitwit who talks about ignorance yet has no idea what the definition of theory is. You’re confusing theory with hypothesis which is an educated opinion that has been tested. Scientific theories are well substantiated explanations of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment.

Gravity is a theory too and yet i don’t see everyone floating into space.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

& still, theories can change overtime, so nothing that mandkind finds out is set on stone.Mmm… Very interesting…”The nitwit who talks about ignorance yet has no idea the definition of theory is…” I only can say that my ignorance amuses me… or should I say as Socrates did, “I know that I know nothing.” Theory is a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, esp. one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained. Hypothesis is as you mentioned a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation. Finally, an intelligent conversation, this I can discuss with someone capable of reasoning. Look, it is quite simple…you can’t deny that mankind is limited. You can’t deny that we are just mere mortals. That sometimes our understanding of the things out there are also limited. Now, mankind has progressed in the sciences & technology, & still, we don’t really know what happened in the distant past, or the true origins of men. So much has been lost, so much knowledge. As for your statement, “Gravity is a theory too and yet i don’t see everyone floating into space.” Indeed, you are right, but again, even the theory is not set in stone. The era of modern physics was born when young Albert Einstein first proposed a radical change to Newton’s laws of gravity. In his theories of special and general relativity, Einstein revealed the laws of physics that govern the fastest and most massive objects in the universe, soon overturning traditional notions of space and time. Relativity has let way to some commonly known theories such as the big bang theory, which was built on the framework of the theory of general relativity. The theory of special relativity was published by Einstein between 1907 and 1915. In it, Einstein showed that Newton’s laws were only approximations, not suitable for physics at extreme speeds comparable to the speed of light. Special relativity considers observers moving at very fast but constant velocities relative to each other. The main concept of special relativity is the fact that the speed of light in a vacuum is always constant to any observer in any reference frame. This was verified by many experiments, but it raised some unsettling questions. For example, if a car is travelling close to the speed of light on the earth and it turns on its headlights, wouldn’t someone on the ground see the light from the car travel faster than the speed of light? Though Newton’s laws would have said “yes,” this would have gone against the fact that the speed of light is constant. With special relativity, Einstein patched these holes in Newton’s laws, turning the world of physics on its head in the process. Special relativity contains three major (unintuitive) predictions which have been confirmed by many experiments:

            • Length contraction: when an object is moving at high speeds relative to an observer, it will appear to the observer to be shorter along the direction of motion. At every-day speeds, length contraction is undetectable.
            • Time dilation: when an observer is watching two clocks, one which is not moving and one which is, then the clock which is moving ticks slower than the clock which is stationary. (This article will derive the formula for time dilation using nothing but the Pythagorean theorem.)
            • Relativity of similarity: when two observers who are in motion relative to each other may disagree on whether two events occurred simultaneously or not.)

          • southpaugh

The irony you display is breathtaking. . Even were you to hear explanations why, its obvious you’d be either unwilling or unable to fathom them. The real tragedy is your intransigent willful ignorance is endemic among believers of supernatural ideas as fact, and who believe scientific theory is just a bunch of words nobody really knows anything about.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Again, I am stating that science does explain most of the things we now know, that is true, but again, this is a universe of possibilities. Why not keep an open mind to those possibilities. The fact that you can’t see, nor touch, nor smell something, doesn’t mean it does not exist. Again, you & I breathe oxygen, & yet you cannot touch it, nor smell it, nor taste it, but it doesn’t mean it does not exist. Someone from here stated that we do have gravity, we don’t see it, but he is right, we don’t see objects going out of orbit. Again, this is a universe of possibilities, & you cannot deny that mankind is limited, & no, we don’t know it all. & no, I don’t promote ignorance because ignorance is not bliss, but I also don’t promote arrogance, men doesn’t hold all the answers either, & I truly don’t trust men in everything men states.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Sigh…Communism is a religion of sorts…a religion in which men is the ultimate being & there is no God at all. Like Nietzsche stated, “God is dead.” There is one huge problem, men is not infallible, not indestructible, nor insensible, & yes, men has become arrogant. Science does hold some answers to the puzzles of the universe, but it does not have all the answers. Why? Because like it or not, men is limited.

I will give you another absolute truth, men do have a beginning,
& men do have an end. With men nothing is forever. Men eventually do die.

          • SomeGalNTx

Christianity was responsible for how many deaths? The philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche AND Karl Marx have killed in 40 years? FIFTY-SEVEN MILLION……IN JUST 40 YEARS…..That’s man left to himself, with NO authority to answer to other than himself and his own desires. Atheist, where does the moral imperative come from opposing murder?

          • Blake Rivers

Here we go, religitards who believe religion is moral. It’s not moral to do so because of the threat of punishment or the promise of reward. Morality is doing what’s right when you don’t have to not because you hope to get into Heaven and avoid Hell. If you’re only doing what’s right for that reason then you people don’t lack morality you lack empathy.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

But still…humans do have the capacity or the capability of defining what good & evil is…you can’t deny that, can you. If someone goes & kills another, is that good or evil? If you are a medical doctor
& help the sick, is that good & evil? Those concepts you can’t see, but still, all action has a reaction, & all cause has an effect. So if someone kills a family member of yours, how do you define that? Simple question to your statement.

          • Jay Gee

Christians hate when you point out there has been more blood spilled from their religion than any other, even the Muslims they hate so much.

          • Theresa Easley

It’s really sad when all your type can do is reach into the past to prove Christians have killed, but I guess that’s all you guys have. You can never bring up anything current.

          • kk164

Name a single person “KILLED in the name of philosophers such as Marx and Nitche[sic].”
Get back to us on that.

          • Blake Rivers

Guess you forgot about the millions of people God personally kills in the bible not including the entire population of the planet that God drowns during the flood of Noah. The Dark Ages,The Crusades, The forced conversions of the Saxons by Constantine during the bloody verdict of Verdune,The Spanish inquisition, The Salem Witch Trials………..

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Indeed, history shows all of us that men or mankind are cruel as a race. Human nature I guess…& with great certainty, human stupidity as well.

          • LOLFALLACIES

Oh, I see what you did there! Clever girl! You get ‘em

          • Karen Mitchell

I’ll tell you how it’s working. We have yahoos like you, making fun of people’s names, for instance, and then telling the rest of us how immature we are. Way to show your double standards, there.

          • Cindy Vallone

….didn’t quite answer the question, did you? Typical quiver-lipped lib! Worried about namecalling but not the societal decay all around us and parents that do more indulging than raising. They accommodate every little desire and the first time the world says “NO!” to their little walking egos, they get a gun and shoot up a school. Remember Harris and Klebold? No religion but PLENTY OF RITALIN!!! Nice job libs!

          • Cindy Vallone

David you mean the way the homos have shoved their “beliefs” in the faces of the boy scouts, the priesthood, elderly bakery owners, the education system, AND our children? Who are the real f’ing bullies, hypocrite! Also, the way this scumbag president who has now FORCED the church to sponsor abortions and pay for them as well? You are twisted. YOUR leftist, godless gang is CONSTANTLY violating the rights of Christians. You scream live and let live while you tolerate men being women, but you just can’t tolerate Christians being Christians. I say, get out of my way, leave my kids alone, and I will believe whatever I want to believe. You go do likewise.

          • David Ewers

Ahhh, now the homos are shoving their belief in the boy scouts. Heard of equal rights?

The president is not forcing any church to sponsor abortions, that is covered under the church amendment. they have a exemption.

I am not stopping any one from believing in any god they wish. I just do not belive it should be done on PUBLIC property. If you want to pit up a display on your front yard, the place of business on your church grounds. And remember it is your side on Fox News hat is freaking out about the other religions that want to put up their display, worrying about sharia law. Go stick your head in the oven and breathe deep.

          • Barbara Repko

Shoving immorality into children’s Boy Scout groups is not “equality”. If you don’t want public displays from religion, which would be violating our 1st Amendment rights by persecuting someone for their beliefs, go protest the Muslims, coward. Hahahaha, see how long it takes for them to behead you.

          • David Ewers

I have never heard of any beheadings here so that is just plain ignorant. And morality, lets see wh is cutting help for the poor and disabled.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

But then again, you can’t deny that if you go into a Sharia
Law country, they would behead you, won’t they. What I am trying to say is that
you are lucky to live in this country, a tolerant country, but alas, this
country was founded by people of faith, you cannot deny that.
            Lucky you…

          • David Ewers

Actually I have been to Sharia based countries and as you see come back alive, so what is your point? People of faith, lets see murdered how many native American’s, kept how many people as slaves, created hate groups that have killed thousands and bombed churches.

Yeah, I would be proud of their legacy.

          • Marie Norman Stein

In Pa, Islamists beheaded 3 priests. That was never reported by the mainstream media. Anyway, many atrocities have been perpetrated in the name of religion but Jesus teaches us to love our neighbor and do good to those who persecute us.

          • David Ewers

Yeah right, the main stream media did not report it. And you got the story from WND, Beck, or Rush.

When did this brotherly love start, not with our president, not in modern history. Lets see we have the KKK, the white christain hate groups, not with christian politicians who are cutting help for the poor but are always willing to help the wealthy. Typical tea bagger hypocrite.

just read the homophobis hate rhetoric here and you see the prime example of christians today.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

& still, under the obamer regime, Pastors are being punished because they want to burn a Quran. You can burn the American flag, you can burn the Bible, but you can’t burn the Quran. Quite interesting. A
pro-socialist, pro-islamist, extreme leftist liberal progressive wing party in
control, indeed, very interesting. Only socialists want to destroy faith, like in
            Russia, Cuba, or even China.

          • David Ewers

Lets look at what Terry Jones was arrested for.

Cops said they cuffed Jones and his associate pastor, Marvin Sapp,
around 5 p.m., as the men were about to start the blaze. Each faces a
felony charge of unlawful conveyance of fuel. Jones was also charged
with unlawful open-carry of a firearm.

No charges beciuase of the Quran, so gain we know you are a liar.

Russia now is a democracy and practacing Russian Orthodox

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

You lie, you are proving to be a
red, a socialist, and an atheist as well. Now I am getting to know the real
you. Russia is not a true democracy, it is a hybrid government. China is now a
hybrid government as well. Cuba has allowed the Catholic Church to enter their
nation after being banned for so many decades. Russia was not a democracy after
Lenin arrived into that nation. They did ban religion for so many decades, up
until the Berlin wall came down. & yes, previous to that it was an Orthodox
Faith based nation. As for China… yes, they do allow Buddhists, but then again,
they don’t allow the Dalai Lama to return to Tibet, not their freedom as a
nation, so you are still a Liar…

          • David Ewers

Russia is a true democracy, the president has been elected by the populace every time. You show again nothing but ignorance and when trapped into a corner you make stupid allegations.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Indeed, nowadays it is a hybrid democracy, not a
true democracy, you still lie, but with Vladimir Putin still in power…your
claim is questionable…Who is really in charge? You are an idiot, & very
stupid. Again, for decades Russia was red, & there was a cold war. Deny
that if you can. Communism did forbid freedom of religion. I want you to deny
            that as well.

          • David Ewers

Again the USSR not Russia. Russia is a state of the USSR was not a true communist government, it was a military dictatorship hiding behind the guise of communism. My grandmother fled the USSR so I am well vered in that area of the globe and speak and write fluent Russian

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (Russian: Сою́з Сове́тских Социалисти́ческих Респу́блик, tr. Soyuz Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik) abbreviated to USSR (Russian: СССР, tr. SSSR) or the Soviet Union (Russian: Сове́тский Сою́з, tr. Sovetskij Soyuz), was a socialist state on the Eurasian continent that existed between 1922 and 1991, governed as a single-party state by the Communist Party with Moscow as its capital. A union of multiple subnational Soviet republics, its government and economy were highly centralized.
The Soviet Union had its roots in the Russian Revolution of 1917, which deposed the imperial autocracy. The Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, then overthrew the Provisional Government. The Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic was established and the Russian Civil War began. The Red Army entered several territories of the former Russian Empire and helped local communists seize power. In 1922, the Bolsheviks were victorious, forming the Soviet Union with the unification of the Russian, Transcaucasian, Ukrainian, and Byelorussian republics. Following Lenin’s death in 1924, a troika collective leadership and a brief power struggle, Joseph Stalin came to power in the mid-1920s. Stalin committed the state ideology to Marxism–Leninism and initiated a centrally planned economy. As a result, the country underwent a period of rapid industrialisation and collectivisation which laid the basis for its later war effort and dominance after World War II. In the wake of the spread of fascism through Europe, Stalin repressed both Communist Party members and elements of the population by creating an atmosphere of political paranoia and establishing a system of correctional labour camps.

Today’s Government of the Russian Federation (Russian: Прави́тельство Росси́йской Федера́ции) exercises executive power in the Russian Federation. The members of the government are the Prime Minister of Russia (Chairman of the Government), the deputy prime ministers, and the federal ministers. It has its legal basis in the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the federal constitutional law “On the Government of the Russian Federation”. But it was not always the case, they were communist, & yes, they attacked religion.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

The politics of Russia (the Russian Federation) takes place in the framework of a federal semi-presidential republic. According to the Constitution of Russia, the President of Russia is head of state, and of a multi-party system with executive power exercised by the government, headed by the Prime Minister, who is appointed by the President with the parliament’s approval. Legislative power is vested in the two houses of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, while the President and the government issue numerous legally binding by-laws.

Since gaining its independence with the collapse of the Soviet Union at the end of 1991, Russia has faced serious challenges in its efforts to forge a political system to follow nearly seventy-five years of Soviet rule. For instance, leading figures in the legislative and executive branches have put forth opposing views of Russia’s political direction and the governmental instruments that should be used to follow it. That conflict reached a climax in September and October 1993, when President Boris Yeltsin used military force to dissolve the parliament and called for new legislative elections (see Russian constitutional crisis of 1993). This event marked the end of Russia’s first constitutional period, which was defined by the much-amended constitution adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1978. A new constitution, creating a strong presidency, was approved by referendum in December 1993.

With a new constitution and a new parliament representing diverse parties and factions, Russia’s political structure subsequently showed signs of stabilization. As the transition period extended into the mid-1990s, the power of the national government continued to wane as Russia’s regions gained political and economic concessions from Moscow. Although the struggle between executive and legislative branches was partially resolved by the new constitution, the two branches continued to represent fundamentally opposing visions of Russia’s future. Most of the time, the executive was the center of reform, and the lower house of the parliament, State Duma, was a bastion of anti-reform communists and nationalists.

The founding fathers of the United States of America were
not queer lovers, & all of them, & I mean all of them, recognized that
a union was between a man & a woman. Oh! Did I forget to state that they
were also Christians??? You are trying so hard to omit history. Equal rights
for same gender couples didn’t apply back them. Even Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would strongly disagree with you on this one because he was a reverend & he was also a Christian. & no, he didn’t support same gender unions. The same
would apply with Abe Lincoln, which would see it as something unnatural. All of them were men of faith, a faith that you attack. You know, the term free will,
& freedom of choice is a Judeo/Christian concept, a concept you have
adopted, from a faith that you attack. Ironic, isn’t it. They don’t call me the
            devil’s advocate for nothing.

          • David Ewers

First they were not devout Christians, that is a myth made up by the righteous right. And neither was LIncoln so again you are ignorant of the facts.

WE know know you are also a homophobic religious nutcase, and the devil advocate claim is just a big lie.

Lets see in the bible we had incest, sisters marrying one man, men have many wives and concubines. so all of your claims of the Torah are false and again Ignorant. Your concept of a biblical marriage is false

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Prove that it is a myth, otherwise it is just your
opinion, no facts, & I want you to prove it, like you demand the prove of a
God. I will give you an absolute truth, all human beings are liars. I challenge
you to state otherwise. Prove that Lincoln was not a Christian, says who, you? Show
the documents. Otherwise you are fabricating things Again, I am not a religious
person, I don’t even go to church. Still, homosexuality is unnatural. Again, a
guy & a guy or a girl & a girl cannot conceive life. An all homosexual
United States of America would mean the end of this nation. Homosexuality does
defy the Natural Order of Biology, according to Charles Darwin’s Natural
Selection. In order to preserve any species by force procreation of the
opposite sexes is needed. Most of the ancient civilizations didn’t endorse homosexuality; on the contrary, most civilizations did endorse men taking several women to
procreate. I am not going to state that not all civilizations didn’t engage in
such behaviors, Sodom & Gomorra are examples of peoples that practice such
behaviors. Still, it is a fact, & an absolute truth that in order to preserve
any species, you need gender of the opposite to engage in procreation. Or
what?!? You going to deny it as well?!?

          • David Ewers

I do not have to prove it is a myth, you made the claim that is real. You claim you know the scientific method.

Now that you are put in a corner with no defense you come up with the typical tea bagger argument of show me the documents, I hear the same BS from every tea bagger.

You claim that you are not religous and now you use the Sodom & Gomorra defense, you are really making a fool of yourself. Then I guess all of those single people are breaking gods will in your little narrow minded world.

I have to admit, you have qualified to one of the most ignorant uneducated, unlightened idiots that I have ever come across.

You pull out your theories without any facts and knowledge. What do they call that little alternate world you live in.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Again, I am not claiming to be from any religion, I want to vex you; that is what I am doing, I read what you posted, & just got fed up of it. You seem to like to question other’s people’s faith; I want to question your faith in science. So far, you have not given me any specific evidence of your own claims, thus showing that you are as limited as any other human being on this Earth. So let us make this topic a little bit more serious, shall we?

Abraham Lincoln’s religious beliefs are a matter of debate. Lincoln grew up in a highly religious family, but never joined any church. As a young man he was a skeptic. He frequently referenced God and quoted the Bible; he attended Protestant church services with his wife and children, and after the deaths of two children became more intensely concerned with God’s plan for mankind. He was private about his beliefs and respected the beliefs of others. Lincoln never made a clear profession of standard Christian beliefs; he did believe in an all-powerful God that shaped events and, by 1865, was expressing those beliefs in major speeches.

According to Salmon Chase, as he was preparing to issue the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, Lincoln said, “I made a solemn vow before God, that if General Lee was driven back from Maryland I would crown the result by the declaration of freedom to the slaves.” The differences in interpretation of the President’s statement can be due to the belief that “swearing or vowing” to God was blasphemous to some religious organizations.
At the same time, Lincoln sat down in his office and penned the following words:
The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be, wrong. God cannot be for and against the same thing at the same time. In the present civil war it is quite possible that God’s purpose is something different from the purpose of either party — and yet the human instrumentalities, working just as they do, are of the best adaptation to effect His purpose. I am almost ready to say that this is probably true — that God wills this contest, and wills that it shall not end yet. By his mere great power, on the minds of the now contestants, He could have either saved or destroyed the Union without a human contest. Yet the contest began. And, having begun He could give the final victory to either side any day. Yet the contest proceeds.
This concept continued to dominate Lincoln’s public remarks for the rest of the war. The same theological allegory was to be prominent in Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address in March 1865:
Both [North and South] read the same Bible, and pray to the same God; and each invokes His aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God’s assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men’s faces; but let us judge not that we be not judged. The prayers of both could not be answered; that of neither has been answered fully. The Almighty has His own purposes.

          • Blake Rivers

They weren’t Christians, they were deists. and a great many of them weren’t religious at all.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

But they were not atheists either…meaning they did believe in something. Deism is the belief that reason and observation of the natural world are sufficient to determine the existence of a Creator, accompanied with the rejection of revelation and authority as a source of religious knowledge. Ah! You are getting somewhere here. You are a quick learner, you learn fast.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Those that promote homosexuality are promoting human population control. Even Darwin will back me up on this on his treaty of Natural Selection. Homos are the weakest link according to Darwin. Plus, guy + guy or girl + girl cannot conceive kids, & thus they defy the Natural Order of Biology. Only the stupidity of mankind defies the laws of nature itself. Nothing to do with religion.

          • David Ewers

First you claim that you are not religious and then you come up with this. I did not know you could read the mind of Darwin.

You have no proved to be a religious nut case but now a homophobic moron.

The idea of marriage is not not I will repeat is not to have children, and considering which population you study in the world there is about a 8 to 10% of the population that is gay.

it is just impossible, you are one of the ones that believe in the Georgia Guide
            stones aren’t you?

            The Georgia Guidestones is
            a granite
monument in Elbert County, Georgia, USA. A message clearly
conveying a set of ten guidelines is inscribed on the structure in eight modern
languages, and a shorter message is inscribed at the top of the structure in
            four ancient languages’ scripts: Babylonian,
Classical Greek, Sanskrit and Egyptian hieroglyphs.

            The structure is sometimes
referred to as an “American Stonehenge.
The monument is 19 feet 3 inches (5.87 m) tall, made from six granite slabs
weighing 237,746 pounds (107,840 kg) in all. One slab stands in the center,
with four arranged around it. A capstone lies on top of the five slabs, which
are astronomically aligned. An additional stone tablet, which is set in the
ground a short distance to the west of the structure, provides some notes on
the history and purpose of the Guidestones.

            A message
consisting of a set of ten guidelines or principles is engraved on the Georgia
Guidestones in eight different languages, one language on each face of the four
large upright stones (see photograph of the face with the English version
right). Moving clockwise around the structure from due north, these languages
            are: English, Spanish,
            Swahili,
            Hindi, Hebrew,
            Arabic,
            Chinese
            and Russian.

There is writing on the granite blocks so again lies And the constrction of the sitrte has been verified to have been built by the American natives, again you show how dumb you are

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

I don’t fear them, it is not phobia, I don’t agree with them, & I don’t have to. If I state that it is unnatural, you as a so called scientist cannot state otherwise. You cannot deny the Natural Order of Biology which does state that in order to preserve any species, two specimens of the opposite gender must mate in order to preserve the race. Otherwise that race of creatures will go into extinction. That is an absolute truth that not even you can deny. I am not stating another thing but that. I challenge you to state otherwise. & if you do, then you are the idiotic, stupid ignorant that you with pride claim others to be.=)

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

That B.S. that you were born that way is only that, B.S. A man that wants to change into a woman cannot do it. A woman that wants to change into a man cannot also do it. No matter how many operations they undergo, no matter how many hormones they take, they will not change their internal organs; they cannot change their biological structure. & suppose they lookalike like woman or a man, a man-woman lookalike will not conceive kids with another man. & a woman-man lookalike will never have kids with another woman; they need by force a real man. Biology 101, & you must be really pissed off, but you cannot change the laws of nature. Only men is stupid enough to try & change the Natural Order of Biology, & not only stupid, but arrogant as well.

          • Blake Rivers

God himself commands the murder of children and the raping of women in the bible, a bunch of times, and this is a God that you not only believe exists but you think he is a loving God.

Do you know the exact textual situation, or did you hear this from one of your atheists’ friends? I know the test, I know where they
are, but if you are an expert on the topic then please, share.

          • Pamela K. Cahoon Laub

Atheists are violating the rights of the majority. That idiot said he doesn’t care if he violates the beliefs and rights of 99% of the country. What an arrogant, selfish SOB. I loved the other speaker’s comment about Arbor Day. If they detest CHRISTMAS why don’t they work or volunteer on Christian holidays? They are happy to have the paid days off. They are disgusting.

          • David Ewers

i noticed you did not address any of the points I said means you have no argument against them. Instead you go on a blathering rant. No one is having a war on your hoilday. No one is stoppi g your right to worship. Just another bigot.

          • Kangaroo52

Are you HIV-poz? Lots of advanced cases get a form of dementia, that would explain the nature of your comments.

          • Barbara Repko

No, he’s just a hateful, ignorant liberal. It’s a disease and he’s full of it.

          • Emma

how old are you? you sound like you’re a child in the playground…this is a good example of religion holding people back!

          • Andrew

ever notice that Christians always come into a conversation filled with hate and malice? I don’t think they actually read their Bibles.

          • Barbara Repko

Funny, the most hateful, malicious comments on here are all from atheist hypocrites.

          • Karen Mitchell

Well, Babs, I’ve read a lot of your posts and more than anybody else on here, yours are vitriolic and ironically, most of them seem to be (hatefully) accusing others of being haters. You are like the typical believer that gives decent Christians a bad name.

          • Barbara Repko

Yes, you screaming, hateful atheists are declaring war on Christmas and have been trying to take away our 1st Amendment rights in recent years. Crawl out of your cave, liberal. Of course you used the “bigot” word, whine racism – that’s the typical liberal moron response. If you don’t believe in Christmas, don’t take the day off with pay, hypocrite. Yeah, you won’t go that far, will you?

          • David Ewers

Name one time that anyone ha0s taken your right to worship. And bigot dies not mean racist, it means hatred towards someone different than yourself.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Don’t be a coward, tell all of these fine ladies & gentlemen why you hate religion so much? Tell them. You must have a reason. Someone, somewhere must have done something to you, for you to hate religious people so much. Tell us your side of your story.)

          • David Ewers

I do not hate religion at all, in fact of you want to get down on your hands and knees and pry in your church, in any park, in your place of business or in your car. I am a strong believer in the 1st amendment and all of its rights. But please do ask me to allow your religious viewpoint to be that of our nation, or world. You do not have that right.

You want the right to worship but whwn another house of worship wants to come in such as a mosque, Buddhist temple, I all hear is cries of rejection. Or if a person has no faith they are suddenly evil baby killing zombies who ant to eat your brain, but in your case we would pass since it does not exist. You are a hypocrite of the worst kind.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Yes you do, your words denounce you, and you are just so blind to see it.

          • David Ewers

I noticed that you have not proved how anyone has infringed on your freedom of religion. Again another empty argument from a bigot and a dumb person. Also a liar who claims he is not a religious person, but does not believe in modern science, evolution. global warming, the big bang theory.

I think we had a period of that kind of thinking before because of Christianity, it was called the dark ages

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Communism is a religion of sorts…a religion in which men is the ultimate being & there is no God at all. Sad to say, but men is not the ultimate god.

          • David Ewers

Nice try but again wrong and Nietzsche was not a communist.

Religion has no answers what so ever, it makes claims with no proof not are you ever to question those facts.

In Science you are free to put forth new theories you just have to have some facts to back up your theory. I would rather be looking for truth instead of some book that is from 2000 years ago to tell me the truth.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

I never stated that Nietzsche was a communist, when on blazers did I state that. I know that you want to discredit me, nice try, but ain’t going to happen. Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche; 15 October 1844 – 25 August 1900) was a German philologist, philosopher, cultural critic, poet and composer. He wrote several critical texts on religion, morality, contemporary culture, philosophy and science, displaying a fondness for metaphor, irony and aphorism.
Nietzsche’s key ideas include the Apollonian/Dionysian dichotomy, perspectivism, the Will to Power, the “death of God”, the Übermensch and eternal recurrence. Central to his philosophy is the idea of “life-affirmation”, which involves questioning of any doctrine that drains one’s expansive energies, however socially prevalent those ideas might be.[44] His radical questioning of the value and objectivity of truth has been the focus of extensive commentary and his influence remains substantial, particularly in the continental philosophical tradition comprising existentialism, postmodernism, and post-structuralism.
Nietzsche began his career as a classical philologist — a scholar of Greek and Roman textual criticism — before turning to philosophy. In 1869, at age twenty-four, he was appointed to the Chair of Classical Philology at the University of Basel, the youngest individual to have held this position. He resigned in the summer of 1879 due to health problems that plagued him most of his life.[45] In 1889, at age forty-four, he suffered a collapse and a complete loss of his mental faculties. The breakdown was later ascribed to atypical general paresis due to tertiary syphilis, but this diagnosis has come into question. Re-examination of Nietzsche’s medical evaluation papers show that he almost certainly died of brain cancer, and researchers attribute his posthumous smear to an anti-Nazism campaign. Nietzsche lived his remaining years in the care of his mother until her death in 1897, after which he fell under the care of his sister Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche until his death in 1900.
As his caretaker, his sister assumed the roles of curator and editor of Nietzsche’s manuscripts. Förster-Nietzsche was married to a prominent German nationalist and antisemite, Bernhard Förster, and reworked Nietzsche’s unpublished writings to fit her husband’s ideology, often in ways contrary to Nietzsche’s stated opinions, which were strongly and explicitly opposed to antisemitism and nationalism (see Nietzsche’s criticism of antisemitism and nationalism). Through Förster-Nietzsche’s editions, Nietzsche’s name became associated with German militarism and Nazism, although later twentieth-century scholars have counteracted this misconception of his ideas.

You also need to back up your theories about the Big Band, you also need to answer for your claims, & the problem is, you can’t.

          • Karen Mitchell

This has got to be my favorite argument you Xians use to prove your god exists. It goes something like this: if a person/Atheist/scientist can’t explain the origins of the universe, it means god created it. You do understand that we know waaaaay more than those , right? And everyday we learn something new. We don’t know everything but we know a lot more than your

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Can you prove that the universe is an accident?

          • Karen Mitchell

Hahaha….see what I mean? No, I cannot prove the universe is an accident; actually, I’ve never even heard it stated that way. But clearly, you have run circles around me with your logic; I guess your god is real.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

If you say so, then prove or disprove it, with facts, not theories, don’t stand middle ground. One thing is certain, you & I are limited, & yes, we do have limitations as human being; that is also an absolute truth. The oxygen that you breathe is real, & yet, you cannot see it. If you didn’t live in this era your mindset would be quite different about the air that goes through your lungs. Maybe you wouldn’t know at all about it.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Did I mention that someone is infringing my freedom of religion??? When did I make such a claim? Are you blind? Or you don’t know how to read at all? You atheists are also bigot; you are bigot against those that profess a faith, any faith. That is a fact; the proof of it is that all of you are here attacking those that believe in a faith. You people can’t stand the idea of others having some sort of faith. You faith is in science, & science does have its limits because science are the finding s of men, & men is limited. I want you to state otherwise.

          • Blake Rivers

First of all nutcase, Christianity STOLE the holiday from the pagans and changed the birth of Jesus to coincide with the winter solstice celebration in the same way Christianity has stolen almost everything about it from other older religions and mythologies. Nothing like an uneducated religious whacko to tell someone else to get out of the cave.

          • Karen Mitchell

The founding fathers wanted separation of church and state; do you get that? They were smart enough to realize what happens when you let religion be the government – look at the Mideast if you need an example. That is what the 1st Amendment is about. It’s not about the right of Christians to write policy. It doesn’t mean you can insinuate yourselves into every aspect of everybody’s lives and tell them to live a life based on your beliefs. And that’s what your phony “war on Christianity” is really about – we want YOU to leave US alone. Stay out of our lives and go pray in your own homes and churches. not in school. Not in court. Etc. Seriously, stop watching Fox News; their fear mongering is working on you all too well.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

So tell me, who is the worst bigot, the religious man, or the atheist? Just answer this simple question…the founding fathers of the United
States of America…where they, or where they not men of faith? Abraham Lincoln, was he, or was he not a man of faith? Dr. King Jr., was he, or was he not a man of faith? You see, without them, you would not be in the place you are right now. This country would be something entirely different. Maybe a copy of Russia, or China. But then again, that what you want this country to become, a place like the places that I just mentioned, or maybe a place like Cuba. It is proven that in an atheist country progress doesn’t occur, ask the Russians.

          • David Ewers

your question is unanswerable, the values of each man cannot be determined and just asking such a question shows bigotry. You assume that a man who does belive in any god does not have morals.

No the founding fathers often condemned faith.

You agin are showing your ignorance with trying to combine Communism and people who do not believe. What do have a vasic high school education?

Russia did not fail because of any religious views, it failed because on a large scale that strict Communism economic model does not work. Again you show nothing but stupidity.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

LOL! You think that you are like Prometheus, showing men how to set a fire…LOL!!! Moron… I am just questioning you as you question others with that great passion of yours. Since you do question, I also question you. If you know something that we don’t then you are obligated to give an answer, otherwise you have no justification whatsoever to state what you state.

          • Blake Rivers

Last time I checked Martin Luther King wasn’t a founding father of the United States. lol.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

No…He wasn’t…still…he was Christian & he was a reverend, a preacher, & he lived his life guided by the Good Book. ;)

          • Blake Rivers

So if 99 percent of the population wanted to bring back slavery they should, based on your logic? The logic of the religitard.

          • Kangaroo52

Yeah! Right! Atheist socialist such as Joseph Stanley did kill millions of people as well, & he didn’t believe in a God whatsoever. So what was his excuse?

          • David Ewers

Stalin was raised very religious in the Greek Orthodox Church. He was
named after Saint Joseph and was raised to be a priest. His father was a
priest and young Joseph spent five years in a Greek Orthodox seminary.

Before opening your mouth have a little knowledge of the man you were talking about.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Raised in the Georgian Orthodox faith, Stalin became an atheist. He followed the position that religion was an opiate that needed to be removed in order to construct the ideal communist society. His government promoted atheism through special atheistic education in schools, anti-religious propaganda, the antireligious work of public institutions (Society of the Godless), discriminatory laws, and a terror campaign against religious believers. By the late 1930s it had become dangerous to be publicly associated with religion.[

          • David Ewers

Nice try but his values were from the christian religion, you can deny it all you want, he is no different rom every king through out Europe who had pogroms and genocides.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

On the other hand, the evidence that religion is connected with loads of killing is both abundant and convincing (provided one is open to things like facts and evidence). Just sticking to the Christians (not that other religions don’t do their share of killing; we in the West are just more familiar with Christianity), here’s a partial list of victims where the motivation, or at least the excuse given, was religious:
Cathars; Huegenots; pagan Prussians (this one could be considered genocide); Donatists; Arians; Pelagians; Gnostics; Monophysites; Protestants (by Catholics); Catholics (by Protestants); Protestants (by other Protestants); witches (the 20 or so killed in the Salem Witch trials are a drop in the bucket compared to the death toll in Europe), abortion doctors and, of course, Jews.
What really pisses me off the most though, is that, no matter how many times I point out the flaws in the Hitler/Stalin/Pol Pot argument to whoever has flung it at me, they ignore what I’ve said or make some lame excuse and shrug it all off. While no one, not even atheists, are immune to bias, it really does seem to take faith to so totally depreciate any evidence that doesn’t support one’s prejudice.

By the late 1930s it had become dangerous to be publicly associated with religion.
Stalin’s role in the fortunes of the Russian Orthodox Church is complex. Continuous persecution in the 1930s resulted in its near-extinction as a public institution: by 1939, active parishes numbered in the low hundreds (down from 54,000 in 1917), many churches had been leveled, and tens of thousands of priests, monks and nuns were persecuted and killed. Over 100,000 were shot during the purges of 1937–1938. During World War II, the Church was allowed a revival as a patriotic organization, and thousands of parishes were reactivated until a further round of suppression during Khrushchev’s rule. The Russian Orthodox Church Synod’s recognition of the Soviet government and of Stalin personally led to a schism with the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.
Just days before Stalin’s death, certain religious sects were outlawed and persecuted. Many religions popular in ethnic regions of the Soviet Union, including the Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Catholic Churches, Baptists, Islam, Buddhism, and Judaism underwent ordeals similar to that which the Orthodox churches in other parts of the country suffered: thousands of monks were persecuted, and hundreds of churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, sacred monuments, monasteries and other religious buildings were razed. Stalin had a different policy outside the Soviet Union; he supported the Communist Uyghur Muslim separatists under Ehmetjan Qasim in the Ili Rebellion against the Anti Communist Republic of China regime. He supplied weapons to the Uyghur Ili army and Red Army support against Chinese forces, and helped them establish the Second East Turkestan Republic of which Islam was the official state religion.

          • Blake Rivers

Joseph Stanley?LOL!! it’s Stalin genius. That’s really all you got isn’t it? Hahaha! People don’t kill in the name of Atheism you monumental retard. They did it for SOCIALISM, get your tiny head out of your giant diabetic ass.

How about the real issue which is that you believe in talking snakes and donkeys, virgin births, unicorns, dragons, giants that people can live inside of a whale, the ridiculous bs just doesn’t end in the bible, and you puny brained sheep fuckers believe it’s true.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

You are thr retard, look yourself in the mirror.
With all due respect slow one, but socialism & atheism do go hand in hand.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Nice try know it all, but no, that’s not what Christianity promotes. Oh! By the way! Do you really know theology? & I mean theology. Do you know the Torah, the NT, & the Quran? If not, what are you criticizing? Under what basis? Science?

          • David Ewers

Actually I know the torah far better than you ever will, and I speak fluent Hebrew. My grandfather was a Rabbi in Chicago,

The holy scriptures has too many contradictions, who did Cain marry, how can you explain the different races. the great flood does not work. The idea of virgin birth, it just does not add up. For a not really religious man you are taking a ton of time trying to prove a mythical series of thought. No you are very religous see th world in a narrow point of view. In other words you have not progressed much further than a man who worships a rock

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

I know Hebrew, Greek, English, Spanish, French, Latin & Arabic. Y te la puedo rayar en cualquier idioma bruto ignorante. I did study not only philosophy & the humanities, but I also did study theology. I am also a Jew. Sad to see a fellow Jew become an atheist. The Great Flood does work, otherwise how do you explain places such as Yonaguni or Dwarka? Now you are being the ignorant here. All ancient texts to tell of a flood, they are not Bible texts. Gilgamesh for instance is one of them. There are Mayan texts that also talk about the flood. Parallels are often drawn between the flood waters of these myths and the primeval waters found in certain creation myths, as the flood waters are described as a measure for the cleansing of humanity, in preparation for rebirth. Most flood myths also contain a culture hero, who strives to ensure this rebirth. The flood myth motif is widespread among many cultures as seen in the Mesopotamian flood stories, the Puranas, Deucalion in Greek mythology, the Genesis flood narrative, and in the lore of the K’iche’ and Maya peoples of Central America, the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa tribe of Native Americans in North America, and the Muisca people in South America. The Mesopotamian flood stories concern the epics of Ziusudra, Gilgamesh, and Atrahasis. In the Sumerian King List, it relies on the flood motif to divide its history into preflood and postflood periods. The preflood kings had enormous lifespans, whereas postflood lifespans were much reduced. The Sumerian flood myth found in the Deluge tablet was the epic of Ziusudra, who heard the Divine Counsel to destroy humanity, in which he constructed a vessel that delivered him from great waters. In the Atrahasis version, the flood is a river flood. Assyriologist George Smith translated the Babylonian account of the Great Flood in the 19th Century. Further discoveries produced several versions of the Mesopotamian flood myth, with the account that is closest to that in Genesis 6–9 found in a 700 BC Babylonian copy of the Epic of Gilgamesh. In this work, the hero, Gilgamesh, meets the immortal man, Utnapishtim, and the latter describes how the god, Ea, instructed him to build a huge vessel in anticipation of a deity-created flood that would destroy the world; the vessel was not only intended for Utnapishtim, but was built to also protect his family, his friends and animals. In Hindu mythology, texts such as the Satapatha Brahmana mention the puranic story of a great flood, wherein the Matsya Avatar of Vishnu warns the first man, Manu, of the impending flood, and also advises him to build a giant boat. In the Genesis flood narrative, Yahweh decides to flood the earth because of the depth of the sinful state of mankind. Righteous Noah is given instructions to build an ark. When the ark is completed, Noah, his family, and representatives of all the animals of the earth are called upon to enter the ark. When the destructive flood begins, all life outside of the ark perishes. After the waters recede, all those aboard the ark disembark and have God’s promise that He will never judge the earth with a flood again. He gives the rainbow as the sign of this promise. In Plato’s Timaeus, Timaeus says that because the Bronze race of Humans had been making wars constantly Zeus got angered and decided to punish humanity by a flood. Prometheus the Titan knew of this and told the secret to Deucalion, advising him to build an ark in order to be saved. After 9 nights and days the water started receding and the arc was landed at mount Parnassus.[ As for the other question, Sagan cleverly listed a number of common questions (including Cain’s wife) that are often directed at Christians in an attempt to supposedly prove the Bible is full of contradictions and can’t be defended. The truth is—most Christians probably couldn’t answer these questions. And yet there are answers. But since churches lack in the teaching of apologetics, particularly in regard to the book of Genesis. We don’t even know her name, yet she was discussed at the Scopes Trial, mentioned in the movies Inherit the Wind1 and Contact,2 and talked about in countries all over the world for hundreds of years.
Skeptics of the Bible have used Cain’s wife time and again to try to discredit the book of Genesis as a true historical record. Sadly, most Christians have not given an adequate answer to this question. As a result, the world sees them as not being able to defend the authority of Scripture and thus the Christian faith. I also often think about the reason why different races of men do exist. But you guys also don’t have a concrete answer to it, don’t you? Prove what you are stating, as simple as that. Teach the rest of mankind, if you can. You also don’t have all the answers, but it doesn’t mean that those answers are not out there. Just need to look for them, and sometimes even harder. You shut down your mind to other possibilities because of your blind faith to science.

How many atheists hospitals are there in the world, how many atheists charities are there in the world who clothe, feed and tend to the needs of the poor and homeless. How many atheists organizations are there that provide relief to those affected by natural disasters. How many atheists orphanages are around the world. Christians continually donate about 3 billion dollars a year to charities for the care and well being of all the people around the world regardless of race or creed. How much do the atheists groups donate?

Btw I am Roman catholic and I live my life centered around Love,Kindness and Compassion which brings joy and peace to my life as well as to others. My point is this lets say you the atheists are correct and at the end of my life when I die I am buried and that’s all there is. I still lived a life of love, joy and peace. But what if you are WRONG and you die…, well lets just say eternity is very long time. God Bless.

          • David Ewers

we do not have groups, but we donate to the same organizations that you do. You are showing your ignorance. But lets turn this around. how many atheist groups have molested thousands of children around the world.

Now let me ask you this, what if you are praying to the wrong god, that Christianity is a false religion and you should be believing the Jewish religion. You are now going to burn in your hell because you broke the covenant. Or Islam is the correct religion and again you burn.

Before you make such stupid remarks make sure the person you are speaking to knows more about the holy scriptures in the original language. Not a New testament written two to three hundred years after the so called life of Christ and then they do not use all of the writings of the prophets.

No writing of Mary Magdalene, no writings of Judas, and limited writing of others. You believe in a piece of propaganda and a church that at one time would have put a commoner to death for the crime of learning how to read. The religion that committed acts of war, killed thousands of jews, stole jewish land to buuild the vatican.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Oh yes you do hate religion, you people are enlightened
humanists. You think that science is the only answer. You are the ones that
state that if you can see, hear, test, analyze empirically, then you might
believe it. There is a problem thou, all ancient civilizations, all of them,
from the cradle of the first one, which was Mesopotamia, to Egypt, to even the
Greeks, & the Romans, all of them believed in a higher power. Where did
they have that notion of creators? One has to wonder. But you people are quick
to discard those facts. Why is it that people created the Nazca lines for
instance, or why is it that people created those huge stone heads in Rapa-Nui?
You don’t even have the answer, but there is a spiritual connection there. Even if you go to the famous Stonehenge, yes, its purpose is to serve astronomical observation of the seasons, & still, the place does have a spiritual
connection. But you humanists do tend to neglect that part, don’t you?

          • David Ewers

you whole analogy is absolutely inane and lacks any logic what so ever.

But parts of only enforces my argument thank you lets see if you are smart enough to figure that out

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

So far you have also have failed to explain to the general public why you state the things you state. The only thing that I see is you insulting the rest of the bloggers. & that’s the reason why I am here, to put a stop to you. Prove the Big Bang theory, prove the string theory. I challenge you, prove them. Don’t B.S. us with big talk, prove what you claim. So far all I see is that you want to ruin the Christmas holidays for the rest of the people, that’s all I see. What?!? You think you are the only one that went to college? Or got a PhD? Appearances can be deceiving. Why don’t you explain the God Particle, maybe you can share some light to the rest of the public. Please, I insist, enlighten all of us…

          • SomeGalNTx

A Christmas display is not shoving anything down your throat. Don’t like it, don’t look.
Kind of like…if you don’t eat meat, don’t go about trying to shut down ALL restaurants that serve meat, because it offends your delicate sensibilities
YOU do not have THAT right. YOU do not get to force YOUR beliefs on everyone else! but yet YOU feel like the victim?
Give ME a break. You are just on a mission to make everyone believe like YOU, but you don’t see it.

          • David Ewers

            Just anothdr blathering idioit.

As a Christian I know that you face a lost eternity in the lake of fire -reserved for those whose names are not found in the Book of Life because you have rejected Jesus Christ -the Messiah- The Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. How awful a person I would be if I did not try to share the good news of salvation with you! It’s like having the cure for cancer but keeping it as my own little secret…Joh 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Joh 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Joh 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Joh 3:19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.

          • HonestToAtee

If you love Communism so damned much then why don’t you move to China, there are no kettles and bells there, just repression which Atheists seem to love!

Mao was an atheist and he killed over 100 million…Stalin was an atheist and he killed over 25 million but I guess you will ignore those as they don’t fit your profile…but what they had I common was the abolishment of religion …just like you

Frankly Mike Religion is not the problem. More have been slaughtered in the name of philosophers than any religion. Look it up. Nitche, Marx…mhm

          • Blake Rivers

That is the biggest bunch of bullshit I have ever read. Since I already replied to the staggering amount of deaths in the name of religion and have already pointed out that simply not believing in a deity doesn’t make people kill, that is the dumbest fucking thing imaginable. I will instead refer you to
            “Now
therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman
that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that
have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.”

            –The Bible

            Numbers 31:17-18
The words of God himself. Such a loving moral God isn’t he?

          • Cindy Vallone

so why aren’t your little cowards going to the mosques and declaring Allah isn’t necessary. Cowards Cowards Cowards

          • Barbara Repko

That’s just it, they’re pathetic cowards. They’d rather attack Christians because we won’t fight back with violence. I’d like to see them try it with the Muslims.

          • mike

muslims are not the ones making ramadan the national holiday in the US. did anyone even watch the interview?

          • Blake Rivers

Of course not mike, we’re dealing with grown adults who believe in magic and fairy tales. I’m guessing being a bunch of uneducated backwoods cousin fuckers has something to do with it.

Where is your attack on islam then you COWARD?

          • HonestToAtee

Atheists are the problem, they are the ones who embraced Communism over the centuries which has killed 100′s of millions of people! THANKS ALOT TOOL!!!

          • David Ewers

Actually there is Christians in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and every other middle eastern country. Do you actually have a working brain cell

          • Pamela K. Cahoon Laub

And those Christians are under attack and even being killed. American Christians are under attack – they aren’t being killed – yet.

          • David Ewers

First there are no christian there and nowthey are being killed. Make up your mind. And I bdt you called out a protested when the serbs were eethnically cleansing in the 90′s.

Typical christian hypocrite. Funny thing about christian they zre pro life as long it is other christians, anyone else they do not care.

Lets look at the millions killed in genocides by chritian followers, the germans of the 30′s and 40′s. The spanish inquisition, the pogroms in every eurpoean country, the crudaes, the murder of the native people in north america, south america, india, china, and Australia. Yes tge christian religion has been spreading its strange love all over the globe.

          • Barbara Repko

You atheists are the hypocrites. We don’t notice you haters protesting Islam – Christianity is your only target. There are more Christians murdered by Muslims. Of course your mind is closed so you refuse to believe the truth. Typical liberal, doesn’t want to be confused with facts.

          • David Ewers

I do know that both sides0 are horrible but I do not see any lslamic displays going up during their holidays. Do you

          • Theresa Easley

You don’t see them yet but the Muslims are slowly trying to take over. When that happens will you dare talk to them like you do Christians? I bet not because they don’t believe in turning the other cheek.

          • David Ewers

Is that from the same place that the UFO’s are coming from, again no proof what so ever, just hate speech coming from a good christian

          • Steve Greene

“We don’t notice you haters protesting Islam”

Wow. Talk about sheer ignorance. In fact, three of the most widely published atheists of the last several years (Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and Sam Harris) have directly criticized the religion of Islam, right along with criticism of religious belief in general. You obviously have little to no clue what you’re talking about.

          • Kangaroo52

You’re a liar and a fool. Saudi Arabia allows NO practice of Christianity at all, Christians cannot even bring a Bible into the country. Try being a gay guy in Saudi Arabia, you’ll learn what real intolerance is.

          • David Ewers

There are more than a million Roman Catholics in Saudi Arabia. Most of them are expatriate Filipinos and Indians who work there, but who do not have the citizenship of Saudi Arabia. The percentage of Christians of all denominations among the about 1.2 million Filipinos in Saudi Arabia likely exceeds 90%.There are also Christians from Canada, the United States of America, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, South Korea, Ireland, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and as well a number of Christians from sub-Saharan countries who are working in the Saudi Kingdom

            too bad facts say different

          • Barbara Repko

Right, and they’re constantly being tortured and murdered by Muslims when they refuse to convert. If you liberals had a working brain cell, you’d really be dangerous. Go protest over there and see how well you do.

tortured and murdered? where are you getting your info??

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

There is a problem, they are not majority in those nations, & radical muslims do kill Christians & other groups that are not like them. & if you are wondering, yes, I have been there. If you go into those places, they might kill you for just being American. Do you have working brain cells at all Mr. Ewers?

          • David Ewers

First there were no christians in any arba country and we know that was a lie, now there no Christians in SA, we know that was a lie. Now you claim they are being murdered. which again is a lie. The oldest population of Christians is living in Syria.

So we know that have far more knowledge than you and your cohorts have combined.

          • Andrew

So as a “good Christian” you are showing hate towards a non Believer? Have you read your Bible? I think you need to go blow the dust off of it.

          • Barbara Repko

The only hate and intolerance shown here, as usual, is by you atheist liberal hypocrites.

          • Karen Mitchell

Hahaha!!! If only that were true!

            (Arabia?)

          • Cindy Vallone

frankly it’s none of YOUR business what anyone believes. Right? You don’t want us to infringe on your right to take it up the a$$ from your boyfriend, but you want to control what Christians believe and think? hypocrites!

          • Doug

Cindy, be nice. Someday you might crave a little back door loving.

          • milliedu

            YOU CAN MOVE.

          • Aaron Waters

You’re a real moron, Christianity creeping into the education system, politics and public land? Seriously, you need to go back to school my friend, the education system and politics in the US were founded on the principles of Christian faith, the schools including nearly all original universities were taught biblical scriptures and prayed to God but nearly all of those institutions have been infiltrated by morons like yourself that are not just offended but deathly afraid of the idea of God’s very existence, the sad truth is, even Satan himself knows and believes in God but he is the author of fear and deception and has poisoned your mind with disbelief.

          • Blake Rivers

Bullshit. This country was founded on the need to escape the religious tyranny of the Roman Catholic church by some who were desists and others who were not at all, and yet those same people cultivated religious superstition and guess what happened they started burning people a witches. Try actually reading a history book that doesn’t include the bible, might work out for you.

          • Barbara Repko

The problem is, thanks to you screaming atheist morons, it isn’t “creeping” enough into our public lives where it was since this country was founded. Go to Iraq where you belong and see how free you are to protest against the Muslims, coward.

          • Blake Rivers

Just like an illiterate religious imbecile who believes in pure fantasy to call someone else a moron.

          • William

it’s not creeping into anywhere,it’s always been there,im 65 yrs old,it was in the schools from my earliest memory, and no you don’t have to live here,do you, and im not saying you have to leave,it’s your choice, just like it’s other peoples choice to believe in their choice of who they worship.

          • mike

It’s thier choice, just not edorced by the govt. If you would not like to live in a country with a muslim govt, i don;t like a christian govt. keep seperation of church and state.

          • William

I understand what your saying mike, but, as I said it’s been in our schools, and society ever sice I can remember, you don’t have to accept it,but, what about the ppl who do,should we capitulate to any one single persons like or dislike, seperation of church and state,ok, then the state should stay out of the church, and the church out of the state, I agree, then shouldn’t the state stayed out of Jim Bakkers problem? im not saying what he did was right, what he did was wrong, but, wasn’t that the church’s problem, the government is always breaking the Ten Commandments, and no one says anything, you have your rights and opinion, thats your right,i have mine,i’ll respect yours, you respect mine,we’ll get along just fine.

          • Theresa Easley

Why does it bother you what others believe? No one can make you believe what you don’t want unless you already have doubts about your own belief.

          • Hello Dolly

you don’t ” have ” to live here, you choose to live in a country which was based and founded on Christianity. There is a difference.

          • Karen Mitchell

But rest assured that the Xians will prevent any other religion from rearing its head in public; only their version of magic thinking is acceptable. 1st amendment be damned (and terribly misunderstood).

          • 4mercy

Many prophecies have been fulfilled about the birth and death of Christ. But there is one prophecy which involves you that will soon be fulfilled.
Php 2:9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,

Php 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

Php 2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Mike, one day you will bow and confess that Jesus Christ is not just “magic stuff”. He is the Lord of lords and King of kings. He is the Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end.

          • HonestToAtee

WRONG! You live in a Country that is shutting out our Judeo/Christian culture for Islamic culture thanks in large part to Atheists!

          • 4mercy

2Sa_22:31 This God–his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
“It is appointed unto man once to die then comes the judgment.”

          • mike

Why are you quoting the bible to me? and what are you trying to say with that quote?

lol @ this afterlife concept (which predated christianity). When part of your brain dies in an accdent you lose that part of yourself, but when your WHOLE brain dies, then you teleport to another dimension and talk to your grandma!

          • 4mercy

You will stand before God one day…and if you yell”You do NOT exist” He will still be there. However, you won’t be yelling anything then…but your knees will bow and your tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.Phil.2:10-11
Have you read the book “Heaven is for Real?”(by Todd Burpo) With your whole eternity at stake , I would encourage you to seek truth with an open mind.

          • mike

A muslim would tell you will stand in front of Allah with AS MUCH certainty. how scared are you of muslim hell? what about mormon hell? hades?

          • 4mercy

332 distinct prophecies were fulfilled in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. No other religion can make such a claim. I serve a living Savior who knows the future and foretells it to minute details. He has also foretold that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Including yours.May you do it sooner rather than later.

So…to answer your question I have no fear of the future -”for I know in whom I have believed”.

Jer 17:5 Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD.

Jer 17:6 He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

Jer 17:7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD.

Jer 17:8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?

Jer 17:10 “I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

Here is the thing Mike, you don’t HAVE to live in The United States do you? You can LEAVE. You are benefitting from the CHRISTIAN forefathers and founders of this country, the Christian soldiers who fought and died for this country. You would not be here enjoying this quality of life without Christianity. HAHA like it or not because of Christians your life is better than most of the world’s citizens.

          • mike

What does the religion of the soldiers have to do with anything, and you don’t see to understand the founding of america on the separation of chruch and state either. what does christianity contribute to america other than fox news, homophobia and creationism?

          • David Ewers

a atheist would not be with a priest and telling a atheist that is going to hell is like telling a child there in no white Santa Claus.

Yes exactly, thank you for proving my point, and lets not forget the largest terrorist attack done by a US citizen a right winged christian Remember OKC.

Yes good and evil does exist it come from man, not from some other being. take some responsibility for your actions and do not blame someone else when you do something wrong.

That is the problem with your religion, you can do evil but since you believe in that mythical man, you are forgiven. Now that is what I call a cop out and a hypocrite

Prove to me that science has all the answers, come on, I challenge you. You are just another ignorant atheist, that all, nothing more, nothing less, I am not amused at all with you. Know it all trash.

          • David Ewers

you are a idiot, we can see the proof of evolution all around us. I can’t educate stupid.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

B.S.!!! Why did everything stop evolving? Why aren’t organisms becoming more complex? Is it because they have reached their evolutionary peak? A snail is not a very fast, powerful, intelligent, or complex animal. It is hard to believe that this organism has reached its evolutionary peak, yet it has not continued to evolve. What about the ostrich? It is a bird with large wings and many feathers, yet it cannot fly. If it had reached its evolutionary peak, wouldn’t it have the ability to fly?
Evolution teaches that man is the pinnacle of evolutionary perfection. Physically, man is less equipped for survival than several animals. Man is weaker than animals such as the lion, tiger, bear, elephant, and rhinoceros. Man’s skin is more fragile than a crocodile’s scales, a turtle’s shell, and a rhinoceros’ hide. Man doesn’t have horns, claws, or sharp teeth to defend itself from predators. Intellectually, however, man is the most equipped for survival. Man is the only living thing able to use large numbers of plants and animals for his own benefit. Man has been able to adapt himself to virtually any climate, he is the only living creature that can make and use tools, and he has the ability to reason. At the same time, man is the only living thing that slaughters millions of his own kind in war. Man is the only creature that continually creates weapons for destruction. Man has also destroyed many natural habitats and damaged many ecological systems. Man has killed so many animals that certain species have become extinct. If man has reached his evolutionary peak, then why does he generally harm his environment? Man is certainly a wonderful creature, but he has not reached perfection. If he has not reached perfection, then how can he be at his evolutionary peak? If he has not reached his evolutionary peak, then why hasn’t he continued to evolve?
Evolutionists state that Neanderthal man had a somewhat larger brain than modern man. When a being evolves it is supposed to improve, but going from a larger brain to a smaller one is not improvement. Did man reach his evolutionary peak and then go in reverse?
Man has been able to create new species of animals by mating two different species of animals. For example, a mule is produced by crossing a horse with a donkey. But the only way to obtain a mule is to force a horse and donkey to mate, because they will not mate with each other in the wild. They will only mate with their own species, donkeys with donkeys and horses with horses. Another important aspect about the mule is that it is sterile, it cannot reproduce. No new species can be formed because a mule cannot pass on its genes. The creation of the mule is not an improvement, but rather a failure. It is not stronger or smarter than its ancestors, and it is unable to reproduce. This shows that even when humans try to “help” the process of evolution, or “help” the transformation of one species into another, it still doesn’t work.
If evolution had occurred, thousands of intermediary stages would have been found in our fossil record. Various “links” between fish and amphibians, amphibians and reptiles, and reptiles and higher animals would have been discovered. But no such “links” have ever been discovered. No intermediary fossils have ever been found. This would be expected if evolution had occurred over a short period of time. But, if evolutionists are correct, it took millions of years for the lowest life forms to evolve into the life forms that exist today. Since the time was very great, the fossils should be many. Instead, there are none. This fact provides a significant blow against the theory of evolution.
Evolutionists search for fossils to fill in the “missing links” of human evolution. But the majority of the “missing link” fossils that have been discovered have since been discarded and regarded as false.
At one time, evolutionists included in the human family tree a stage of development known as Nebraska man. This stage, based upon the discovery of a single tooth, has since been discarded because the tooth in now known to have come from an extinct pig.
Another human ancestor that has been discarded, Piltdown man, was reconstructed from a skull and some teeth found in an English gravel pit. It was later discovered to be a fraud, perhaps the work of an amateur fossil hunter named Charles Dawson. Dawson apparently placed the skull of a modern man and the teeth of an ape together where they would be discovered. To make his work appear authentic, Dawson filed down the teeth to make them appear more human, and he stained both skull and teeth with a chemical to give them the appearance of great age.
Eugene Dubois discovered bones of what he assumed to be a prehistoric human being on the island of Java. He claimed the bones of Java man were 500,000 years old. Dubois also discovered, in the same layer, a completely human skull – a fact he kept secret for 30 years. Obviously, if Java man had been buried in the same rock layer with modern man, he could not be man’s ancestor. Dubois eventually dismissed his discovery as being nothing more than a mixture of human and gibbon bones.
Peking man was another mix-up of human and ape bones. They were found together because the humans were eating the brains of the ape.
Louis Leakey discovered Ramapithecus, a handful of teeth and jaw fragments, and put them together incorrectly to resemble a human jaw. In 1978, more bones were discovered, and Ramapithecus was just an orangutan. Leakey also discovered “Skull 1470″ which is definitely more human-like and yet older than Homoerectus and Australopithecines. Perhaps this proves that man is older than his ancestors. Leakey also discovered the very old Australopithecines. Leakey thought it walked upright, but investigation by many others concluded that it did not, it swung from trees and is a type of extinct ape.
The first skeleton of Neanderthal man that was discovered was stooped in posture and bowed-legged, with a somewhat apelike skull. Other Neanderthal remains have been discovered in a number of other countries, but they do not show the same stooped posture as the first skeleton. It is now believed that most Neanderthals stood just as erect as we stand. It seems that the first one discovered happened to be that of an old man suffering from a form of arthritis. Neanderthal people were found to be 100% human.
Another “missing link” in the supposed evolution of man, Cro-Magnon man, was discovered in southwest France. At the time, Cro-Magnons were supposed to be our most-recent human ancestors on the evolutionary family tree. Evolutionists now admit that the Cro-Magnons were 100% human; they were merely a tribe of people that often dwelled in caves and hunted bison.
Evolutionists believe that the fact that the vertebrates all have many structures on the same plan proves that vertebrates all evolved from a common lower ancestor. Creationists believe that this fact merely indicates that God used the same pattern in making species of the same class. As it is written in the Bible, “God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.”(Genesis 1:25) The bodies of man and animals have a basic similarity in their overall design. Knowing that His creatures would all live under similar conditions, perform similar life functions, and feed upon similar foods, God made them with similar body systems.
Genetic and molecular biologists can now measure the degree of similarity between most forms of life by examining the sequence of the components of a specific protein. Relationship is established by the number of changes required to convert a protein of one organism into the corresponding protein of another – the fewer changes, the closer the relationship. This comparison can also be made using genetic material. There is no evidence on the molecular level for evolution. Each of the many categories of organisms appear to be equally isolated. For example, by isolating one protein (Cytochrome C) from a snake and comparing it with 47 different life forms, it was shown that the rattlesnake was most similar to man, not to any other reptile (based on that one protein).

um I don’t think you understand how evolution works, especially when you think is has stopped?? can you please explain the thoery of evolution to me? what do u think we think it is?

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Adaptation is not evolution, quite two different things. I clearly understand, I finished college, & beyond. Let’s review what each one of them are, shall we?

An adaptation, also called an adaptive trait, in biology is a trait with a current functional role in the life history of an organism that is maintained and evolved by means of natural selection. Adaptation refers to both the current state of being adapted and to the dynamic evolutionary process that leads to the adaptation. Adaptations contribute to the fitness and survival of individuals. Organisms face a succession of environmental challenges as they grow and develop and are equipped with an adaptive plasticity as the phenotype of traits develop in response to the imposed conditions. The developmental norm of reaction for any given trait is essential to the correction of adaptation as it affords a kind of biological insurance or resilience to varying environments.

Evolution is the change in the inherited characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. Evolutionary processes give rise to diversity at every level of biological organisation, including species, individual organisms and molecules
            such as DNA and proteins.

The Theory of Evolution states that all plant and animal life evolved over long periods of time from simple to more complicated forms through mutation and adaptation. Biologists can show experimentally that some organisms
escape predators by trying to be inconspicuous and blend into their
environment, and that other organisms change their behaviors in order to adjust to their environment. These tested cases are only a handful, however, and many supposed cases of adaptation are simply assumed.

One assumed form of adaptation is “mimicry”. Mimicry supposedly occurs when one species adjusts its physical or behavioral characteristics to imitate another species. Any form of mimicry must be intentional. A species must purposely change its physical features to resemble another species. But there is no power in the world by which animals can alter their own physical characteristics in such a way. No matter what they do, animals can
never change their color pattern or reshape their physical framework. Thus, an organism could never physically adapt itself to mimic another organism.

Another form of adaptation is camouflage. Certain animals will use their coloration to conceal themselves by blending in with their surroundings. For example, the emerald tree boa is a vibrant shade of green. It takes advantage of its coloration when it hides among leafy foliage. This form of camouflage conceals it from its prey. Another example is the zebra. Its stripes resemble jungle grasses. The zebra takes advantage of its coloration when it hides in the tall grasses of the plains. This form of camouflage conceals the zebra from
its predators. These are only two of the hundreds of animals that use
camouflage as a means of protection from predators or concealment from prey.

Evolutionists claim that animals change their coloration in order to
camouflage themselves. But the use of camouflage is a behavioral adaptation,
and it does not indicate that these animals changed their coloration in order to blend in with their surroundings. These animals could have always possessed these color patterns, and they simply chose the best surroundings to match them.

Some so-called adaptations of certain species are not logical. For example, why would a Blue Jay adapt its feat
hers to be blue? Its blue feathers
do not blend in with its surroundings and do not conceal it from predators. Why wouldn’t it adapt its feathers to be green in order to blend in with the leaves and conceal itself from predators? Another example is the Scarlet King Snake. Evolutionists claim that this snake altered its physical features in order to mimic the coloration of the Coral Snake, thus causing predators to believe that
it was venomous. But if the Scarlet King Snake can truly alter its physical
features, then why didn’t it adapt its coloration to be exactly the same as
that of a Coral Snake? Why didn’t the Scarlet King Snake simply develop
venomous fangs? Both the adoption of an exact replica of the Coral Snake’s
color pattern or the development of venomous fangs would have been more beneficial to the Scarlet King Snake than its current physical structure, and neither would have been more difficult to develop than its current coloration.

Evolutionists claim that certain animals adapted their physical characteristics in a specific manner in order to conceal themselves from predators or prey. They claim that some animals purposely changed their physical features in order to avoid being eaten by predators or seen by prey.
One example is the Leafy Sea Dragon. This creature has leaf-like appendages
which enable it to hide among floating seaweed or kelp beds. Thanks to these appendages, the Sea Dragon can conceal itself from its prey and avoid detection by predators. But in order for the Sea Dragon to have purposely evolved in this manner, it would have had to choose to alter its physical structure. There is
no power in the world by which animals can alter their physical characteristics simply because they desire to do so. A cat might desire to fly in order to catch a bird, but that does not mean that it will sprout wings simply because it desires to fly. Thus, the Sea Dragon must have done something in order to create these appendages. But what did it do? No amount of physical activity
could have caused the Sea Dragon to produce these protuberances. Physical
activity can only enhance an animal’s body; it can never produce new features on it. Also, no type or amount of food eaten by the Sea Dragon could have caused it to produce these protuberances. Like physical activity, food can only enhance an animal’s body; it can never produce new features on it. Nothing that
the Sea Dragon could have done could have possibly enabled it to alter its
physical structure in such a way. Thus, it is quite illogical to suppose that
the Sea Dragon, or any other animal, could have purposely changed its physical characteristics to such an extent.

Mutation is “the event consisting of a change in genetic structure”. It is generally destructive to an organism. For example, people with three copies of the 21st chromosome are born with Down Syndrome. Mutants are usually weaker than normal organisms, they are usually unable to reproduce, and they usually live shorter lives than normal organisms. An albino
alligator, for example, is a mutation of a normal alligator. It usually doesn’t
live as long as a normal alligator for two reasons. One, it is born with very
light colored skin, making it an easy target for predators. As a result, it is
eaten while it is still young, and it never reaches adulthood. Two, because of
its very light colored skin, it is seen by its prey and its prey escapes. As a
result, the alligator eventually starves to death. As an organism evolves it is
supposed to improve, but most mutation is a hindrance rather than an
            improvement.

Geneticists began breeding the fruit fly soon after the turn of the century, and since 1910 when the first mutation was reported, some 3,000 mutations have been identified. All of the mutations are harmful or harmless; none of them produce a more successful fruit fly.

Hermaphroditism, a type of mutation, is the presence in one individual, plant or animal, of both male and female gonads or organs of sex cell production. Most organisms that have this mutation cannot fertilize
themselves. Flatworms, however, have a complete set of male and female gonads in each segment and regularly fertilize themselves. This might be considered a helpful mutation for some animals, but higher animals that have this mutation are usually sterile, and, when fertile, do not produce both fertile eggs and fertile sperm. Humans who have this mutation show functional disturbance of the endocrine glands, especially of the pituitary or adrenal glands, and do notpossess two sets of functioning sex organs. Hermaphroditism never produces new
sex organs, or any other kind of new organs, that are unknown to the species.

A few mutations might be considered helpful. One example is the wingless beetle on the island of Madeira. For a beetle living on a windy island, wings can be a definite disadvantage, because creatures in flight are
more likely to be blown into the sea. Mutations producing the loss of flight
could be helpful. The sightless cave fish would be similar. Eyes are quite
vulnerable to injury, and a creature that lives in pitch dark would benefit
from mutations that would replace the eye with scar-like tissue, reducing that
vulnerability. While these mutations produce a drastic and beneficial change, it is important to notice that they always involve loss of information and never gain. One never observes the reverse occurring, namely wings or eyes being produced on creatures which never had the information to produce them.

Recombination involves a shuffling of the genes, and is the reason that children resemble their parents very closely but are not exactly
like either one. Genes, the genetic units of heredity, are merely reshuffled
from one generation to another, but new genes are never formed. Gregor Mendel showed that while traits might be hidden for a generation they were not usually lost, and when new traits appeared it was because their genetic factors had been there all along. Recombination makes it possible for there to be limited variation within the created kinds, but it is limited because virtually all of the variations are produced by a reshuffling of the genes that are already there. Recombination is not to be confused with evolution. Recombination only creates variation within a kind, it does not cause one kind to become another.
While Darwin saw the finches on the Galapagos islands as an example of
evolution, we can now recognize them merely as the result of recombination
within a single created kind. The pioneer finches brought with them enough genetic variability to be sorted out into the varieties we see today. Another example is the domestic dog. Recombination, along with selective breeding, has produced the many different varieties of domestic dogs found in the world today.

If all organisms evolved from a one-celled organism, then why
do one-celled organisms still exist? Why did some one-celled organisms evolve and not others? If all birds evolved from a common flying ancestor, then why do some birds fly while others don’t? If they evolved differently then why is everything else the same between them? They all have feathers, beaks, feet,
etc. Are flying birds more evolved than non-flying birds? Are non-flying birds
continually evolving and will they fly someday?

            Why did everything stop evolving?
Why aren’t organisms becoming more complex? Is it because they have reached their evolutionary peak? A snail is not a very fast, powerful, intelligent, or complex animal. It is hard to believe that this organism has reached its evolutionary peak, yet it has not continued to evolve. What about the ostrich? It is a bird with large wings and many feathers, yet it cannot fly. If it had reached its evolutionary peak, wouldn’t it have the ability to fly?

          • mike

in short. why do you think millions of years of “microevolution” won’t lead to macro. and if you accept “adaptation”, what do YOU think happens over millions of years of adaptation?

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Do you have scientific prove of it??? Has it happened? I need to question, you so called scientists do question everything, so I am oblige to do the same, we are all learning, we are in the same wagon, so why not question. Theories are just that, theories… For something to be corroborated, irrefutable proof must be presented. Or am I wrong on that one as well???

          • mike

unless there is a reason why what we see in 200 years cannot translate to millions of years.. like if I can walk a mile you can assume i can walk 3 miles.

          • mike

“No matter what they do, animals can never change their color
pattern or reshape their physical framework.” Snakes and caterpillars have a
broad spectrum of pigmentation. Thru random mutation, if one combination would arise
that would improve survival odds even 1%, that will overtake the population. The
caterpillar that looks slightly closer and closer to it’s poisonous cousin will
            survive.

“These animals could have always possessed these color patterns,
and they simply chose the best surroundings to match them.” What?? Animals choose
where they live? That’s a new one. The Boa that is born with a slightly lighter
color does not eat and dies, and does not pass it’s genes.

“For example, why would a Blue
Jay adapt its feathers to be blue”

I would make a guess that it’s life the birds of paradise and parrots and some
form of sexual selection, where blue birds only mate with bright blue things.

“then why didn’t it adapt its coloration to be exactly the same as

that of a Coral Snake? Why didn’t the Scarlet King Snake simply develop

            venomous fangs”

random mutation is the first thing. There is no forward method to this. What happens
happens. One species developed poison, another ne hasn’t because the genes
never came up. If the coloration change keeps it alive to pass on it’s genes, that’s
what you will see in the population, a coloration change.

            “Evolutionists claim”

there’s no evolutionists, just all the scientists from different countries,
religions, races all over the world. The ONLY people against it do it for
            religious(nonscientific) reasons.

“But in order for the Sea Dragon to have purposely evolved in this
manner, it would have had to choose to alter its physical structure.”

Please don’t ever say “the animal wanted to do something”. It’s just certain
genes improving odds slightly. The seahorses that was green(random mutation)
survived better. Next generation there’s more green ones. Then in the next
generation, the ones that the cartilage that looked leafier where left alone by
predators 1% more..ect. Look at dog breeding. Animal physical structure can vary
            quite a lot.

“As an organism evolves it is supposed to improve, but most
mutation is a hindrance rather than an improvement.” True, evolution is sloppy
and takes millions of years of trial and error. 99.8% of all species that have
            ever existed have gone extinct.

            “a more successful fruit fly”
this would only sense if there was something it needed to adapt to. Like if
scientists killed all fruit flies that had certain characteristics, then you
would see a change in the population. If all fruit flies survive and reproduce,
mutations will not change the population.

            “Hermaphroditism never produces
new sex organs, or any other kind of new organs, that are unknown to the
species.” It could, but very unlikely. Humans are too complex for the hormones
to be off like that. Our ovary-testicle hybrid gonads have been sterile so far.

            “While these mutations produce
a drastic and beneficial change, it is important to notice that they always
involve loss of information and never gain.” Ah “information” my face
creationist word. What is information? What is losing information mean? Shorter
            genome? Nope.

“One never observes the reverse occurring, namely wings or eyes being produced
on creatures which never had the information to produce them.” Well eyes popping
up in speciation would be unlikely. The evolution of the eye was a very very
long process over many different life forms. (from light receiving cells..ect)

            “but new genes are never
formed.” Of course they are, you mentioned down syndrome and trisomy. The Philadelphia
chromosome ( 21+9) is another example.

            “Recombination only
creates variation within a kind, it does not cause one kind to become another.”
Recombination is what happens each time we produce a sex cell(sperm or egg). So
I hope that wouldn’t be a cause of evolution or we would be out of control. Mutations
CAN occur at any point, and (chromosomes being ripped up/duplicated/Nonhomologous
recombination/ incomplete recombination..ect) can definitely introduce change
into an individual. Look at genetic diseases. Sickle cell anemia for example,
allows people to survive malaria, so humans in africa have evolved to have
            sickle cell disease.

“we can now recognize them merely as the result of recombination

within a single created kind.” A “kind” is another creationist word. What is a “kind”?
as soon as two animals can no longer reproduce with each other we call that a
            new species.

            “If all organisms evolved from
            a one-celled organism, then why

do one-celled organisms still exist?” Population splits. If single celled
organisms CAN survive, they will keep on doing so, even if some of their cousins
            had multiple cells.

“Why did some one-celled organisms evolve and not others?”

            Random mutation and natural selection.

“If all birds evolved from a common
flying ancestor, then why do some birds fly while others don’t? If they evolved
differently then why is everything else the same between them? They all have
            feathers, beaks, feet,

etc. Are flying birds more evolved than non-flying birds? Are non-flying birds

continually evolving and will they fly someday?”

Non flying birds evolved from flying birds. Like blind fish and wingless beetles.
Evolution does not know about the big picture. Non flying birds could end up
flying or anything else. There is no way to predict evolution.

            Why did
            everything stop evolving? It didn’t.

Why aren’t organisms becoming more complex? Oooh complex the 3rd
            creationist term.

            “A
snail is not a very fast, powerful, intelligent, or complex animal. It is hard
to believe that this organism has reached its evolutionary peak, yet it has not
            continued to evolve.”

It doesn’t have to, as long as it keep surviving it can be perfectly adapted to
it’s environment. Random mutations are not guaranteed, you said it yourself, it’s
unlikely and seldom. And its evolutional advantage isn’t speed, it’s it’s
            reproduction cycle.

“What about the ostrich? It is a bird with large wings and many feathers, yet
it cannot fly. If it had reached its evolutionary peak, wouldn’t it have the
ability to fly?” evolutionary peak? What the hell is that? It’s stuff like that
that make you people lose credibility. The ostrich’s survival does not come
from flight like it’s ancestors, now its from strength and speed.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

This is a very interesting reply, thank you :)

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

          • mike

your a wordy one.. I meant the mechanism of evolution. I’ll just try to explain it to you. Random mutation by natural selection. that’s it. things pop up in the genome, in the chance that that improve the chance for survival, that animal is able to reproduce more and carry goes genes on to next generation. All an animal has to do is survive and reproduce. if the young with the new gene have a slightely higher chance of surviving, that gene will be bread into the entire population in a matter of generations.

Example(ring species): we have one species of birds(or lizards), and the population is split up on different sides of a mountain. On one side of the mountain the grass is low, so only the smallest of the creatures survive predators, and thus reproduce. the genome becomes favorable to small after enough time from adaption, they can no longer interbreed and thus are labeled two different species. (also, genes carry several traits at a time, so the small-gene can also have other unrelated characteristics attached for the ride)

Thank you for sharing, I am learning so much.

          • Blake Rivers

The person making the ridiculous claims has the burden of proof. If I claim that a purple penguin is ruling the universe, It is my responsibility to offer evidence for it. You psychos have the burden of proof on YOUR ridiculous claims.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

No one is saying the contrary, you are right, but science can only go so far. What about the possibilities? That’s what I’m asking all of you.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

You haven’t proven anything yet… I am stating something here. It is time for you to refute with valid scientific argument, not your own opinion of the universe.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Again, when did I claim to be a Christian? Just reviewing the things that I have stated. But hey, let’s talk about what you are stating. To the extent of my knowledge, Jesus in his teachings never promoted violence. I challenge you to refute that. It is a fact. Second, those that say that are practitioners of a faith, & do not live accordingly to that faith are liars. What I am stating here is that all of those that claim to be Christians & kill are not Christians at all because those were not the teachings of Jesus. I cannot claim to be a Christian, I am not a practitioner of the faith, & that has not impeded me to study out of curiosity, just to know what it is. So no, OKC…not Christian…you use the worst to tarnish the reputation of those that make mistakes. Clever you, but it’s not going to work, & you people are not going to win more adept followers like that either. You cannot call me a hypocrite, I never claimed to be something that I am not a Practitioner. Being a scholar, a student, a researcher is quite a different description.

That’s just your opinion. From what I see atheists act more trashy.

          • SomeGalNTx

Even the most intelligent quantum physicists do not deny that there must be some form of higher power that initiated the sequence of events that led to life. To say that the most educated do not believe is a statistical untruth, or one manufactured to suit those who want everyone to believe in NOTHING, and get offended that their efforts failed.

Joh 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Joh 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Your argument is that you are the majority? LOL! It’s a good thing that we have laws in place to prevent things like slavery even though the majority would have it that way. Religitard logic at work.

          • Cindy Vallone

i don’t believe in hells but I understand that you’re religious beliefs are telling you to wish me ill. even if it’s imagionary you believe it.

I have been a Christian my whole life and I have never come upon a Christian that WISHED people to hell. I know Christians who WORRY about people going to hell, which is entirely different and completely the opposite of the lie you are putting out. Lies are counterproductive in debate.

again, if you don’t want to believe, DON’T! And hey, don’t worry about hell. There isn’t one, right? I don’t care about you, and you shouldn’t care about me. If you don’t want to celebrate Christmas don’t.

          • mike

im not worried ABOUT hell, just like your not worried about muslim hell. I don’t like people thinking that i deserve to be punished for eternity.

          • Blake Rivers

The same bible passage that condemens homosexuality in the bible also condemns mixed fabrics and the eating of shellfish. If have have mixed fabric in you clothes and eat shellfish then you are just as guilty as a homosexual. It sucks when your own fairy tale book is used against your argument doesn’t it?

          • milliedu

Mike, we don’t think you deserve hell. Satan does. Anyway what do think hell is? The Bible teaches that it is separation from God for eternity. Another little golden nugget is that one day we will all stand before God, at judgment time, I don’t want to see you turned away, that’s all. If I did want to see you turned away, I would go around preaching that there is no God And no Hell. That’s all!

          • Doug

Thank you. That’s very ecumenical of you.

          • Cindy Vallone

In addition, you DID LIE about Christians WISHING people to hell. Nice dodge, coward.

          • milliedu

Mike, have you ever heard of respect? I would never dream of addressing you as mike, I don’t know you, but you have a name: it’s Mike. Address God As God!

          • Mercedes Silva

            Correct.

          • Barbara Repko

            Translate in English?

          • mike

            *all non christians

          • Barbara Repko

It’s always the atheists and radical liberals who wish bad things on people who don’t agree with them.

          • Blake Rivers

Yeah, a person who simply does not believe in fairy tales and magic are the ones who wish bad things on people and not the right wing religious psychopaths who believe in a God that has commanded the murder of children and the raping of women.

            “Now
therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman
that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that
have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.”

            –The Bible

            Numbers 31:17-18

            “And
I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their
daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the
siege and straitness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their
            lives, shall straiten them.”

            –The Bible

            Jeremiah 19:9

          • Blake Rivers

I have had Christians tell me I’m going to burn in Hell with a smile on their face. Btw, debating a religitard is like debating a 4 year old with Down’s Syndrome.

          • milliedu

Mike you are so wrong. Any one that is a believer in the Christ of Christmas is not wishing you ill. You are so afraid of Christians, that is why you are so intolerant. You fear the unknown, I don’t blame you. You have been brain washed, I should be hating you for that? You tell me why it’s OK for you to HATE Christians, but not OK for me to hate non Christians.

          • mike

So which part did I get wrong then? does the bible(“god”) say non believers deserve eternal punishment? yes or no?

          • Barbara Repko

Why are you so afraid of capital letters? And God’s name doesn’t need quotes around it.

          • mike

is that an answer to a question? why would you waste time typing this?

          • Barbara Repko

Too bad you slept through 3rd grade English class.

          • Blake Rivers

Kind of like how you slept through 3rd grade science class.

          • mike

Here’s what a christian just told me. LMAO

“I don’t wish hell upon you loud mouth, hateful atheists. I already know that’s where you’re going, not me. It makes no difference to me whether you believe or don’t, but don’t try to interfere with my right to believe.”

          • Pamela K. Cahoon Laub

Wishing eternal hell on you and knowing you will spend eternity in hell are two different things You wreak hell on Christians at every opportunity..

          • Barbara Repko

I don’t wish hell upon you loud mouth, hateful atheists. I already know that’s where you’re going, not me. It makes no difference to me whether you believe or don’t, but don’t try to interfere with my right to believe.

          • mike

LMAO see see! you read about hell in a book and you think it’s real AND YOUR SURE that your going to heaven and im not.

          • mike

and your not afraid of going to muslim hell because you were born in the “right’ religioN! I love christians!

          • Blake Rivers

Exactly right Mike. They have the audacity to think that the predominant religion where they happened to be born, just happens to be the right one and everyone else who believes different is wrong. The Muslims born in Afghanistan believe the exact same thing.

          • Blake Rivers

Even if Heaven was real, I wouldn’t want to go there if it’s filled with ignorant assholes like you.

          • David Ewers

No Cindy, people who not believe in god do care for people.

WE do care for them because it is the right thing to do. Not because a poorly written book tells us to. The biggest hypocracy of Christians is their so called love for the Jews. They need them for the rapture to happen but knowing when it happens Jews will left behind to suffer under the Anti-Christ.

In other words you do it for self love.

          • Cindy Vallone

So let’s give you what you want, and eliminate all christians. You will also need to eliminate all of the hospitals, orphanages, homeless shelters. You really want them all silenced? And ask yourself, how is THAT self love. Homos are doing 1000000% MORE to impose their thoughts on others, trust it!

          • David Ewers

I never said we should eliminate any religion, what I have said that I do not want to see their displays on public property. But I do not think Blue cross, Kaiser, and all the other for profit hospitals closing. Don’t mention homeless shelters, with the cuts made to the funding many them are closing.

          • Blake Rivers

” You will also need to eliminate all of the hospitals, orphanage” What???? Your ignorance is truly frightening.

          • Barbara Repko

We’re already suffering under the AntiChrist in the White House. You radical, screaming atheists don’t care for anyone but yourselves and your hate-spewing agenda to destroy Christians. It won’t work; we’ve been around for centuries and aren’t going anywhere.

          • Kangaroo52

Another gaytheist puts in her two cents worth…

          • Barbara Repko

At least we have beliefs and aren’t hateful, intolerant fools with empty lives.

          • David Ewers

I am waiting for that proof!

          • Cindy Vallone

Research your own proof. Lazy ass

          • David Ewers

what no proof, that is what I thought. I do not have to prove anything, you made a claim that he is real now prove it. Give me one scientific proof that he is up there, that the earth is 6000 years old, that dinosaurs and man walked together. How is it we have tree over 6000 years old that somehow survived the great flood. How can you explain the creation of diamonds that take millions of years to form. Or the creation of oil. Your religion has more holes in that the Titanic.

          • Cindy Vallone

I don’t owe you anything. I researched everything myself. I don’t spoon feed grown men. There are plenty of resources: Hugh Ross, Chuck Missler. Enjoy. Typical narcissistic man, everyone has to ANSWER to you.

          • David Ewers

you are trying to use a Hugh Ross & Chuck Missler. who has been discredited by every scientific community. Not one of their so called studies has passed scientific test. And again, Christians are making the claim of Christ and their beliefs. And if you knew science, you can’t disprove a negative. I might as well be trying to disprove the existence of fairy dust.

narcissistic, no. Just want to see your proof and so far you have not shown me a thing. So since you can’t do so I must surmise that he does not exist, he just is a figment of a deluded population.

          • Cindy Vallone

I think that’s exactly what you should surmise since you are too lazy to look into anything yourself. Again, I don’t spoon feed grown men and we won’t be sharing consequences if I’m right. Oh and narcissistic? absolutely…..you are not unique. same ole same ole condescending boy-man who was never given any boundaries by his parents. Your parents never once gave you one religious sense of direction but I bet they bought you every expensive gift they could shove under the tree to make sure you were indulged. Bullseye, yes? Because these same parents who b*tch about the bus driver wearing a santa hat? are the SAME ones that make sure their little j*rkoff has everything he wants without doing anymore more than breathing.

          • Cindy Vallone

            :)

          • David Ewers

Actually no I was not given everything I asked for and I did not ask for anything. I was told to earn my allowance. I came from two hard working parents, one who died in 1965 in VN. So again you have no poof of your mystical man.

          • Cindy Vallone

again, Mr. Narcissist, I don’t need YOUR permission to believe in God. If you want to free the country from religion, go after all of them. At least be brave in the effort. (yea right, that’ll happen)

          • David Ewers

Did I ever say that you did not have the right to believe in any god of your choice, what I have repeatedly said, you do not have the right to put your religion in front of another religion. Hannity and the rest freaked out over the atheist display, they would freak out over a Islamic display, they freaked out over the festivus pole.

You can get down on your knees and pray to anyone or to anything. Just do not ask me to believe in your religion and then claim that I have a war on Christianity when I use my 1st amendment rights of freedom of speech by expressing my doubts.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

            There is a problem… science
doesn’t hold all the answers. Let’s take for instance evolution. It is a
theory, but people do take it as a fact. I do state that it is a fallacy. You
see, science still cannot explain anomalous places such as Tiawanako, Puma Punku, Yonaguni, or even Derinkuyu, anomalous places that science cannot explain.

          • David Ewers

No that is why call it the thoery of evolution, the big band theory and so on. WE are looking for the answers you claim that you have found them in a poorly written book

Nice try about the old inca sites they are trying to find answers but do not go off the crazy side by claiming a myhtical being created them, or flooded the earth, or fire rained down from the sky, or a woman being turned into a pillar of salt. Or better yet a man who can walk across water and trun a few people of food that can feed thousands. That’s just bad writing

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

You are a narcissist. You see, there are elements of nature
that do exist; molecules do exist, electrons, protons, neutrons, ultraviolet
rays, radiation, so on, & so forth. You can’t see those elements, but it
doesn’t mean they don’t exist. You are quite arrogant. Not even Albert Einstein was that arrogant, & no, he was not an atheist. With the right instruments we now know those elements do exist. But otherwise how do you prove those elements exist. Some of those even can kill you. There are things out there that are real, but the capacity of men is just so limited. You are limited, you only have a certain capacity, & that is that. Sir Isaac Newton was also not an atheist.Your knowledge is limited.

          • David Ewers

I can prove that electrons exist, can you prove to me that your god exist. About Einstein, he considered himself a agnostic but most likely an atheist because of the negative feelings of the time.

You really are a ignorant fool

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

You are just limited, a mere mortal. You existence will come eventually to end, & then what? Is that it? As for old good Albert, yes, you are right, he was agnostic, but he was not an atheist. You lie. You are an ignorant fool yourself. You don’t know everything. There are things out there that you don’t even can begin to fathom. So tell me know it all, what machine do you use to prove the existence of electrons, neutrons, & positrons. Tell me fool.

          • David Ewers

you made claims that you know nothing about, the age of the pyramids, about Einstein’s religion. The cities of the Inca’s.

Purpose-built particle accelerators and detectors. prove thier existance and particles even smaller such as quarks and the god particle. You really show how dumb you are with such questions. Go crawl back into that cave you live in.

Do me a favor, take a wire and stick it in a live plug and prove there is no such thing as electrons.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

You are not answering the questions that I am stating, that means that you know nothing yourself. So all of your advices please do me a favor & apply them to yourself as you please. I am not amused with your limited knowledge of the world. You know nothing about the universe. I am asking you valid questions, answer them. I challenge you, if you were a true scientist, a professor, or a teacher, then you would be obligated to answer. You are not answering. You are just a fake, a phony.Again, if you didn’t live in this age, you wouldn’t even be able to prove the existence of the invisible elements of the universe. You can’t touch everything, you can’t see or taste everything in the universe, that doesn’t mean those elements are not real, nor doesn’t mean they don’t exist. So do me a favor & if you can’t answer those questions, then STFUP.

          • David Ewers

I do not have debates with deranged individuals.

          • Blake Rivers

“Hugh Ross, Chuck Missler” That’s your research? HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! Your opinion has been rendered null and void, you are a friggen laughing stock of a human being.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

No, the Earth is not 6,000 years old, but our human written history is 6,000 years old. In one point of our human history, we lost not only knowledge, but accounts of events as well. We now know that the Pyramids of
Giza are more than 20,000 years. & modern engineers still cannot figure out
how they assemble those structures. Again, structures in ancestral cities such
as Tiwanako & Puma Punku cannot be explained. Something happened in humanities past that made those civilizations disappear. Your modern science also has a big fat lie, evolution is a lie, we don’t come from monkeys. I challenge you to prove it.

          • David Ewers

The pyramids are 20,000 years old, where did you pull that out of.

You are a idiot. The Antikythera mechanism has been completely figured out.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Yes they are that old, you should check it out. The weathering of the site, the alignment of those buildings with the stars. Your history is wrong & lacking. Something else did happen in men’s past.

          • David Ewers

The age of the pyramids are about 5200 to 5300 years old. The first known western civilization is the city or UR which is now in Iraq, they thing it many be as old as 7500 years old. You are a blathering idiot.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

British archaeologist, Kate Spence, has a novel solution to an Egyptian mystery. It explains how ancient surveyors could have used stars to orient the pyramids at Giza when they had no pole star to guide them. It reduces the uncertainty in the start date for Great Pyramid construction from a century to a mere five years.

While the Giza pyramids have not been accurately dated before, investigators have marveled at the accuracy with which they are aligned to the compass’s cardinal points. The western and eastern sides of the Great Pyramid, in particular, align with true north to within 3 arcminutes – about a tenth the width of the full moon.

No one has explained such surveying skill satisfactorily. Polaris had not yet taken up its position as our North Star guide. Now Dr. Spence at the University of Cambridge in England has found two other stars on either side of the pole that, taken together, do the job. One – Mizar – is in the middle of the Big Dipper’s handle. The other – Kochab – is in the Little Dipper’s bowl. Twice a day these stars line up vertically – each lying about 10 degrees from north. An imaginary line between them passes near the celestial North Pole. That line ran very close to the pole at the time of Egypt’s Old Kingdom when the Giza pyramids were built 4,400 to 4,600 years ago. It actually ran through the pole in 2467 BC.

To find north, a surveyor had only to wait until the daily rotation of the heavens brought that stellar lineup into coincidence with a vertical plumb line on Earth.

Spence notes that the Great Pyramid is the most accurately aligned of the Giza group. She also notes that the stellar lineup gave the most accurate northerly direction in 2467 BC. Therefore, she picks that date with an uncertainty of five years due to pyramid measurement errors as the date for the start of construction.

Previous dating based on tracing the lengths of the reign of successive kings dated construction to that general period but couldn’t come closer than 100 years. Radio carbon dating couldn’t do any better.

Harvard University science historian Owen Gingerich calls Spence’s theory “the most interesting idea to come down the pike in a long time for aligning the pyramids.” A century or more of attempts to explain the alignments astronomically had been disappointing. Dr. Gingerich says that he was ready to dismiss this latest effort out of hand when the journal Nature, which published Spence’s account Nov. 16, sent it to him for comment. But he adds that, as soon as he read it, he realized “this is a very serious paper.”

He notes that one of its most persuasive aspects is the way Spence’s theory neatly accounts for the history of small deviations from true north in the pyramids’ construction.

Beginning with the earliest pyramid, surveyor’s errors become progressively smaller until they reach a minimum with the Great Pyramid. After that time, they became successively larger. This history correlates with the way the Kochab-Mizar lineup first comes closer to true north and then moves away due to the wobbling of Earth’s axis.

The axis traces a circle on the sky every 26,000 years. This changes the positions of stars as seen from Earth. Ancient Egyptians would not have noticed this unless they kept systematic astronomical records for which there is no evidence. Spence says there’s more research to be done. She calls the ability to fix the pyramid dates “an advance in establishing a reliable absolute chronology for the second half of the third millennium BC.” But, she adds, “it does not solve all the problems.” This dating has to be fitted into the full historical sequence.

For many years the world has known that the pharaohs must have employed sophisticated methods of aligning their pyramids to due north with great accuracy. But with no compass and an absence of a pole star – Polaris was then in a different part of the sky – no one quite knew how they did it.
Now an Egyptologist from Cambridge University has devised a possible explanation by proposing that the pyramid builders used the alignment of two well-known stars. If true, it means that the dates of the pyramids could be estimated to within five years rather than 100 years as previously suggested.
Kate Spence, a researcher at Cambridge’s faculty of Oriental studies, examined the slight errors made in aligning the bases of several pyramids to true north, which suggested that whatever principle the Egyptians had adopted, it became increasingly inaccurate.
Dr Spence concentrated on studying the pyramids at Giza, which have never been accurately dated although they are known to have been built about the middle of the third millennium BC. “The chronologies of this period have been reconstructed from surviving lists of kings and the lengths of their reigns, but the lists… contain known inconsistencies and errors,” she said.
The west and east sides of the base of each pyramid are aligned due north-south because of the religious significance the Egyptians attached to celestial north, the point in the night sky around which all stars appear to rotate. Dr Spence said the circumpolar stars – those that closely circle the celestial north and do not fall below the horizon – did not disappear at night and so were called the indestructible stars. “Because of their apparent immortality, the Egyptian kings wanted to join them in the afterlife,” she said.
The pyramid most accurately aligned to the north is that of Khufu (or Cheops), which deviates from true north by just three arc minutes – equivalent to one-tenth of the diameter of the Moon as seen from Earth (an arc minute is one-60th of a degree).
In a study published in the journal Nature, Dr Spence argues that this alignment could have been made by careful observations of two circumpolar stars, Mizar in the Ursa Major constellation, and Kochab in Ursa Minor.
In their anticlockwise journeys there is a point at which they can be exactly aligned with a vertical plumb line held by hand. If this is done today, the plumb line’s intersection with the Earth’s horizon will be well away from due north. But astronomers calculate that in the year 2467BC, the intersection would have fallen precisely on due north as the alignment of Mizar and Kochab would have exactly crossed the point of celestial north in the sky.
The reason for the difference between now and 4,500 years ago is due to the precession of the Earth’s axis of rotation, which has a 26,000-year cycle. Using the perpendicular alignment of Mizar and Kochab as a measure of true north would be less accurate after and before the key year of 2467BC.
The slight misalignment to the west of the Khufu pyramid suggests it was built about 2478BC, more than 70 years earlier than previously thought.
Dr Spence says the later pyramid of Menkaure, the second pharaoh after Khufu, errs in the opposite way by 13 arc minutes to the east. The three earlier pyramids of Snofru are aligned more to the west as they get further from 2467BC.
What makes the idea so attractive to scientists is that Dr Spence can draw a graph of the suggested dates of each of these pyramids against their deviation from true north and produce a straight line – a clear indication that she may have found the method used to determine true north in ancient Egypt. Owen Gingerich, an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Massachusetts, said: “Spence has come up with aningenious solution to a long-standing mystery.”

          • Blake Rivers

You have no proof you hideous crone.

          • Barbara Repko

            You prove He doesn’t exist.

          • David Ewers

You made the claim by believing in a religion. There is not any historical proof that christ ever lived. You might as well believe in fairies.

          • Blake Rivers

The burden of proof lies on the claimant, what part of that don’t you understand?

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Proof to all of us that evolution is real, come on, I challenge you; use the scientific method to prove that mankind does come from monkeys. I challenge you to prove that theory. I am waiting Mr. Ewers.

          • David Ewers

            How about DNA?

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Yeah! DNA! You know, even with that, they can’t find the missing link, so your theory falls. Lier.

          • David Ewers

Yeah, you are not a religous man, you deny evolution science, you deny global warming, Yeah, nice try bagger.

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

You are quite amusing…when did I state that I am denying global warming? LoL!!! XD As a told you, I am not a religious man, but I like to vex. As a scientist, or so you call yourself one, you are obligated to answer questions to the best of your ability. If you are stating something, then be ready to prove it. After all, you do demand proof, then proof statements that you do yourself to the rest of the public.

          • Blake Rivers

I have my convictions of accepting reality for what it is, instead of persisting under superstitious delusions.

          • mike

we don’t have to PROVE no god. just like we don’t need to PROVE no invisible unicorns. no evidence, no reason to believe idea in the first place. extraordinary claims (invisible man in the sky) require extraordinary evidence

          • Cindy Vallone

soooo explain why you are upset that someone would wish you to hell? Are you the thought police now?

          • mike

            2. stay out of the government, is that a hard concept to grasp?

          • Jason C. Dixon

Your a pest to society.. your bible fools you.

          • Cindy Vallone

I’m a pest? I’m not the homo attacking elderly bakery owners to take away their livelihood unless they endorse me taking it up the butt!!! Hey Jason, go shout this crap in a mosque. They want you to think the way they do and they’ll behead you for NOT. Equal time….or are you too much of a dainty coward as well.

          • Doug

You seem to be fixated on the butt today.

          • Kangaroo52

another gaytheist troll puts in her two cents worth…

          • Blake Rivers

Another homophobic religious crackpot put her two cents in.

          • Barbara Repko

Apparently you fooled your school into thinking you stayed away during 3rd grade English class.

          • Barbara Repko

How can they be so upset about a place they claim doesn’t exist?

          • mike

because I don’t like a relgion that tells PEOPLE that god says I deserve to be tortured forever? is this hard to understand?

          • mike

like if at my core beliefs I thought that you Barabara Repko deserve to be tortured brutally. and I think that is what the creator of the universe wants.

          • Cindy Vallone

yep, that’s my point. Plus hell isn’t a place of eternal torment, unless you find separation from God torment. They shouldn’t because God, to them, doesn’t exist. Discussing anything with an atheist is like drag racing around the mulberry bush.

          • Anthony Burkes

Circular, therefore STUPID logic. You’re a liberal IDIOT and don’t deserve my time.

          • Blake Rivers

Religion is the creator of circular logic you giant waste of oxygen. If you believe the Noah myth, then you are either a complete moron or a lunatic

          • Barbara Repko

If you’re so sure He doesn’t exist, prove it. There’s more evidence to prove God exists than there is that He doesn’t.

          • mike

You are asserting the positive claim of god, so you have to prove it. If i say unicorns are real and they make sense because they move atoms around.
Lets hear evidence for your god

          • Blake Rivers

“There’s more evidence to prove God exists than there is that He doesn’t.” What??????? HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! Congratulations, you have managed to type the dumbest thing I have ever read in my entire life. Give me one example of the evidence you have? I’m waiting?

          • Chris Jones

LOL! Who’s making the assertion here? YOU are! If I say there’s a teapot orbiting Mars, it’s on ME to prove it, not YOU to disprove it! So YOU claim there’s a god, YOU prove it!

          • Anthony Burkes

I made no assertion at all. But since you don’t have an argument, you LIE and say I did. I simply said Prove that GOD does NOT exist. You can’t so you make up some stupidity to try to make yourself feel like you “Won” and then throw in some of that incredibly STUPID Circular logic that you and the rest of you Worshippers of Hating on Christianity use and then, your saddest display, you say “You Prove It”….seriously? I know you are but what am I? You atheist are the LAMEST humans on the Planet. No one is trying to make you believe anything, but you FUCKING ASSHOLES attack Christians or ANYONE who happens to express the slightest belief in a higher power as stupid Myth Believers and then proceed to BULLY them into YOUR RELIGION. And don’t say it isn’t a religion, you Jerk-Offs are more Dogmatic than the most devout Catholic ever TRIED to be. You people sicken me, but My God says to forgive you, no matter HOW Stupid you are and to Love the Person, just hate the sin. So Merry Christmas you Godless pile of Stupidity, may you one day open your eyes and realize what a TOOL you really are. Oh…and God Bless!

          • Blake Rivers

Grown adults who live under fantasy and delusion deserve to be ridiculed for the subhuman lemmings that they are. Religion is the enemy of intellect and knowledge and therefore should be exposed as the lie it truly is. Btw, what’s with the random capital letters?

          • Kangaroo52

Why do you hate Christians? We’re not the ones who gives you guys AIDS, you do that to each other.

          • Doug

            There’s more butt talk.

          • Blake Rivers

That’s because they are the one’s who are really obsessed with gays, even though they claim to hate them, which is probably why there are so many priests molesting little boys.

          • Barbara Repko

We don’t have to prove anything. You who hate so many people for believing are the ones who have to prove God doesn’t exist. And if you don’t believe, why do you atheists get so bent out of shape over something you claim doesn’t exist?

          • Blake Rivers

These low watt religious mutants can’t seem to wrap their heads around the burden of proof. Btw, TYPING IN CAPS DOESN’T GET YOU INANE POINT OUT ANY MORE EFFECTIVELY.

          • Cindy Vallone

I have freedom of religion and I can practicing beheading fire ants if I so choose. Why on earth would I have to PROVE anything? When did that happen? A-hole

          • Doug

There’s another reference to the posterior.

          • Blake Rivers

I have the freedom FROM religion so I can deny your lie of a god and expose you idiots for the brainless dullards that you are.

          • Kangaroo52

You are stupid and illiterate – the word is “pagan.” You’re a fool.

          • Barbara Repko

How about you proving there is no God? That’d be a lot harder. And again, learn something about English. It’s “pagan”, not “pagen”.

          • mike

we don;t need to prove there’s no god, just like we don’t need to prove there’s no unicorns. the proof is on you

          • Wraith Against RichOligarchy

Tell me one thing… can science explain everything? Is mankind limited or not? Think about it.

          • Max Clayton

How do you know what god will do? Who the hell are you to judge? Are you god? What would he think of you condemning your fellow man like this?

          • southpaugh

Flavius, Titus Flavius, Constatine, Eusabius. These are the guys who organized the fraud and put it into use. God is as made up as Satan, and each have been molded and changed to suit the fears of the time for total effect. Look at yourself and see how well its still working.

        • Cindy Vallone

ooooooooooooo I know I am but what are you!? lol what are you…12?

          • Chris Jones

Says the little girl making fun of people’s last names. Cute!

          • Cindy Vallone

yes thank you for creeping me . . . love it

    • Jose CUnha

Jennifer, atheist apparently only exist to defy the rights of others to believe in God, any God. You keep yammering on about the law, when the law in fact is in place to protect religious beliefs, ALL OF THEM, not prohibit or discourage them. In fact morons like you claim atheism is a religion. How can you claim the mantle of the protection of religion under our laws and then turn around and seek to attack and eliminate all others? That being the case I can with a whole heart and a clear conscious say that your are nothing but a group of blithering idiots who need to be eradicated because you don’t stand for any beliefs, not the freedom to not have any beliefs, you stand for the desire to force other to not have any beliefs. You therefore have no place in this country, and no First Amendment Rights. You can’t claim protection of the constitution out one side of your mouth and work to tear down one of its most basic tenets out the other. That makes you a bullshitter and a hypocrite, not an atheist.

      • Brian Westley

Stop lying about atheists. We are only exercising our first amendment rights, we aren’t trying to remove any else’s rights.

        • Drisana Merry Williams

BUT THAT IS JUST WHAT YOU WANT WHEN YOU ASK FOR CRECHES TO BE REMOVED ETC

          • Steve Greene

I always laugh whenever you tell a Christian he doesn’t have the right to use government to promote his sectarian religious beliefs and he pretends that you are trying to remove his right to believe what he wants to believe. This is known as the red herring tactic.

          • Kangaroo52

Another ugly dork… it’s not good PR for atheists that all the “men” (using the term loosely) look like the worst kind of nerds.

          • Blake Rivers

I guess you missed the morbidly obese mutant population that populates the majority of the mid-west.” Murica!

          • DD

            Another queen trolling…

          • Barbara Repko

Actually the 1st Amendment was designed to protect Christians from persecution so we do indeed have a right to “use” government in that way. You certainly are trying to destroy our right to believe, hypocrite.

          • Steve Greene

Your equating of ‘prohibiting Christians from using government to promote their sectarian religious beliefs’ as “persecution” is noted. Thank you for demonstrating the irrational nature of the rhetoric.

          • Steve Greene

The word “Christians” is not in the First Amendment. Your attempt to distort it and misrepresent it to be referring to some sort of Christian monopoly is noted. Additionally there is the fact that the First Amendment states a number of things, and the clause we are specifically referring is known in the legal terminology as the “Establishment Clause”, that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”, and furthermore is applied to state and local governments based on the Fourteenth Amendment. In regard to the Establishment Clause in legal cases, courts use the so-called “endorsement test” and the “Lemon test” (when and where they are applicable) to determine whether the Establishment Clause is being violated.

Finally, I note here that you completely failed to address the point I made in my post that you wrote your comment in response to. Preventing you from using government to promote your sectarian religious beliefs does not destroy your right to believe in any way, shape, or form. And the fact that you continue to try to pretend that it does, even after having the distinct error of the statement explicitly pointed out to you proves not only how confused some of you are, but also how fond you are of using false statements to push your religious agenda in politics.

          • Blake Rivers

Thank you Steve for your well educate and informed response to these primitive minded cretins.

          • DD

You two must have met each other in the same restroom. Don’t overrate yourselves, blowing in a public place does not mean you are smart.

          • Blake Rivers

No, no It wasn’t sorry. It was actually put there to protect everyone FROM religion. Guess you never heard of the Spanish Inquisition either?

          • DD

Apparently your history comic books forgot to mention that the Inquisition ended centuries ago, you brainless a-hole. You don’t kick a dead horse – well, if you’re a dorky loser with no b@lls, you probably would kick a dead horse.

          • Brian Westley

From government property, sure. Put them in front of churches and your own home and nobody will care. Just don’t have the government promote your religion.

          • Diane

That same government promotes everything, and does it with tax money. Get real Brian.

          • Brian Westley

The constitution prohibits the government from promoting religion. It can promote lots of things, but not that.

          • Cindy Vallone

Really, how many $$$$$$ have gone to the Muslim Brotherhood moron???!!! Go snuggle with your boyfriend, Brian. Leave Christians alone.

          • Kenneth Clark

            Brian,
The Constitution prohibits the Federal Government from establishing a State Sanctioned Religion like the British had done with the Anglican Church.
A simple read of the Declaration of Idependance and the Constitution will show that our country was founded upon Judeo Christian principles and our core laws from the same Holy Scripture.
Christians, true Christians, do not have the mindset of wishing anyone to Hell. We believe that God has given all humans a choice to believe or not. Those who choose not, have secured their own eternity. We, humans, are the only ones of God’s creations on earth that have choice.
Proof that God exists is easy. Just look around you at the life on this planet. This did not happen by accident. Darwin created a Theory, it remains a Theory to this very second.
The Billboard in Times Square asks the question “Who needs Christ in Christmas?” We all do as He is the only one whom can save each one of us from the eternity we would naturally choose. God does not want that for the very creation who’s intention was to be a companion/friend to God Himself. This is why Christ was sent and why He sacrificed himself. Simply to save us from ourselves and place us back to being God’s friend.

          • Barbara Repko

You’re a special kind of stupid. The Constitution prohibits the government from persecuting people for their religion, not from “promoting” religion. Duh…

          • Blake Rivers

I think the special kind of stupid is the person you see in the bathroom of your trailer everyday. That is not even close to what it says in the constitution you dipshit.

          • DD

You should stay away from the subject of restrooms, given that you probably have been taken out of them in handcuffs.
            Hee hee
            Har har

          • Cindy Vallone

hey dufus, tell that zero in the white house to stop promoting terrorists. Might better a more worthwhile cause.

          • Barbara Repko

The government doesn’t “promote” religion, merely protects religion from persecution by you haters.

          • Blake Rivers

CRECHES? Please stay in the second grade until you cease to be the drooling moron that you are.

        • Jose CUnha

Again, you don’t get to exercise rights when trying to deny the same to others. That’s why people in prison have no rights. Your organization exists to undermine a right guaranteed to all Americans under the constitution, then you want to be protected by the first amendment of the same constitution you crap all over, under the banner of the nation whose founder’s Motto was “In God We Trust” and who came here to escape the same kind of bullshit rhetoric you are pedaling? Please.

          • Karen Mitchell

Oh brother. “In God We Trust” was not the founding fathers’ motto. The motto, if any, of the United States was actually “E Pluribus Unum”. We didn’t even start using your motto until the 1860s (it first appeared on money n the 1950s). See your first sentence there, Jose? The same can be said for you. Do you really want to allow every religion to be able to place monuments at courthouses, schools, other public buildings, etc? Are you going to sit there and tell me it wouldn’t bother you one little bit if Muslims erected a statue of their commandments? You know it would because you don’t want freedom for religion; you want freedom for YOUR religion. We want freedom from religion – and that is much closer to the thinking of the founding fathers.

          • Jose CUnha

..Karen your last statement sums it all up. In YOUR OPINION, freedom from religion is better, but we aren’t governed by your opinion, we are governed by the constitution which guarantees freedom of religion. As for the rest of your bullshit, when we don’t have to grin and bear Mosques within sight of the 9/11 memorial, maybe your bullshit rhetoric will begin to approach truth. Until then, please STFU. As for freedom from religion, sorry YOU CAN’T HAVE IT. Not in this country. Plenty of airports all over though, find one where you can.

          • Karen Mitchell

Typical response. We can’t have freedom from YOUR religion but you get freedom from all others.
Read the Constitution – but more importantly, understand it – before trying to use it to back up your arguments.
Tell me why there can’t be a Mosque within eyesight of the WTC? Because nine people that happened to be Muslim – out of a billion and half Muslims – were responsible for 9/11? What about Christian churches in Salem, Mass? You know – that place
where Christians burned others at the stake in what could only be described as
religious terrorism? Are you as upset about that?
That Christian love pouring from your post – is that the same love your god holds back except to those that will worship him?
(Oh and btw – I do get freedom from your religion; it IS in the Constitution.)

          • Jose CUnha

… you really are dumb aren’t you? Where exactly did I say that you can’t have a mosque in sight of the WTC? I said just because I may not like it or it my disturb me ( and if you don’t understand why, that explains a lot), doesn’t mean I have the right to prevent it just like you don’t have the right to force “FREEDOM FROM RELIGION” down my throat just because it suits you. And why are you so worried about Christian love in my posts, worried about my immortal soul? And no you don’t get freedom from religion, for all you rants and imagined intelligence, you are still a tiny minority in a country where democracy still rules. So deal with it. The only sliver of satisfaction you can take is that we ACTUALLY believe in the freedoms this country stands for so we TOLERATE idiots like yourself.

          • Charles Sparrow

To stupid to realize that the majority does not rule when it comes to civil rights. Why don’t u quit wasting our time?

          • Barbara Repko

In this country, so far, the majority does rule. And atheists persecuting Christians for their beliefs is not a “civil right”. Go hate somewhere else. I don’t see you atheist cowards persecuting Muslims.

          • Charles Sparrow

I like hating religion, especially Christianity right here. Majority rules-ignorant thing to say. They have used federal troops in the past to enforce civil rights against the majority (christains) who tried to stop them. When muslims start abusing us like Christians have done we’ll take them to court too. Maybe u’ll see each other there.

          • Blake Rivers

We don’t live in Afghanistan. Instead, the majority of crazy assholes in this country, are you Christians.

          • Blake Rivers

Says the imbecile who thinks the founding fathers were responsible for “In God We Trust”. Hahaha! You people’s stupidity goes from frightening to down right hilarious.

          • Cindy Vallone

Well, go enjoy your freedom….unless you have a different point.

          • Barbara Repko

If you love the Muzzie savages so much, move to Iraq and see how free you are, especially as a woman, to protest publicly. Hypocrite. And if you could read the Constitution, you’d know that it guarantees freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. Do you want someone to read it for you and explain it slowly?

          • Charles Sparrow

We r going to have FREEDOM FROM RELIGION. We r getting it every day and u better learn to get used to it sluggo, cuz dey is lot’s, and lot’s, and lot’s more to come. U ain’t seen nuthin yet.

          • Jose CUnha

Keep dreaming, Charles. The only thing I have to get used to is a handful of annoying and inconsequential idiots like yourself growing old still mumbling about atheism and freedom from religion while the vast majority goes on with their lives and celebratinga it’s faith just like we’ve always done. But if you want to live in a fantasy, maybe you can make that your religion.

          • Blake Rivers

Kind of like the same majority who supported slavery and racial segregation, huh?. Love how this retard tells people who don’t believe in fantasy to go ahead and live in fantasy. Religious hypocrisy at work.

          • Barbara Repko

Too bad you slept through 3rd grade English. And you minority atheists will never destroy us majority Christians and destroy our 1st Amendment rights. Dream on, intolerant haters.

          • Blake Rivers

I guess the reason you basically copy and paste you inane comments over and over again is that you lack any original thoughts and have a very limited vocabulary, probably due to the indoctrination you were subjected to when you were a child.

          • Diane

Karen, until O came into office, no one had a problem with any of it. Martin Luther was a great advocate of the Christian belief. A lot of great men were. As for your information, you are misinformed. Think about all the violence we have had to endure in schools, neighborhoods, etc, since they decided it was not going to be in our schools, courts swearing in, etc. Look at the amount of people in prison, crime, etc. Muslims have done a good job of brain washing, those that have one. Some are just sheep going to the slaughter. As to your opinion, we all have a right to it, but some are basically challenged as to what source you use for it.

          • Charles Sparrow

religion stops violence? There should be a stupid test before being allowed to post here and if I were u I wouldn’t waste time taking it.

          • David Ewers

Karen the Muslims look at Moses as a prophets and believe in the ten commandments.

The Quran speaks of them in Surah Anaam, 6:151-153 and Surah Isra’, 17:23-39. Surah Isra’, 17:23-39 is like a commentary
on the commandments listed in Surah Anaam. Some scholars call them the “verses
of the ten commandments” simply because they speak of ten significant
commandments to be observed by a Muslim.

And yes every religion has the right to have their beliefs out in the public eye. The founding fathers were not the religious people the right made them out to be. You belive in a myth. And the founding fathers were not the first group here in America that wanted a complete seperation of church and State, Roger Williams left Salem and founded Providence, now in Rhode Island. Due to the mix of religion and government in Salem. This is part of my family history, the Bordens left Salem because of the decrimination the Puritans were putting on the Quakers.

Please get an education in history and politics, right now you look like a uneducated high school student

          • Cindy Vallone

does it bother you, simpleness, that this snake in the white house has given $$$$$$$ to the Muslim Brotherhood? Where’s your outrage? interesting

          • Cindy Vallone

freedom from religion? LOL? you want Christians to shut up? Is that it? Nobody is forcing you to celebrate Christmas. So answer me this one…why are yo focused on Christians and not muslims? Too risky to go there?

          • Chris Jones

Nope. Muslims are just as cute as Christians with their silly beliefs. It just happens that Christians are the ones forcing their ideology on others in this country, so they’re the ones we’re most concerned with at the moment. If Muslims become more of a threat to our freedoms here in the USA, we’ll start paying more attention to them. Now isn’t it past your bedtime little girl?

          • Cindy Vallone

you really think Islam isn’t forcing their beliefs on people? Nooooo, I think better that you’re cowardly little group would rather not touch the REAL threat. Too violent for your dainty hands.

          • Chris Jones

Yes, Muslims are a danger…on the other side of the world. Muslims in the US are not yet the same level of threat. When they are, I’ll be more concerned with them than with you. Right now, YOU are the ones trying to deny peoples’ rights because they don’t fit your mold. YOU are the ones trying to pass laws based on your religious ideals, precisely the thing the founding fathers were intent on avoiding.

          • Cindy Vallone

On the other side of the world? Christians have NOT invaded the country with threats of beheading, chemical warfare, flying planes into buildings killing innocent citizens. I am in the field of work that actually DETECTS this threat. You have absolutely NO idea what you are talking about. Also, homos are trying to pass laws that tailor the thoughts of everyone to their mindset. Why aren’t you going after them? You are a coward and a fraud!

          • Charles Sparrow

U work in our national security? Before I was only afraid. Now I’m F’ing terrified.

          • William

hey, hold on there chuckie boy, you said I had a filthy mouth for saying what I said, now you using the same F’ing words I used, hypocrite, you want ppl to listen to you, but, you spit out the same crap as everybody else, yeah,im a Christian, not afraid to say so, I don’t criticize other faiths, try and find fault with them,as others have said criticize islam, I know some want me to introduce them to you? I didn’t think so, remember this “, satan never takes care of his own”, have fun with your daddy!!!!!!!!!

          • Cindy Vallone

and don’t lie. You are too much of a coward to address ANY threat that is actually violent and too STUPID to realize that they ARE on our doorstep. YOU are the real danger.

          • Cindy Vallone

what comes to your mind when you hear the word “infidel?” Too scary to go after them, eh lady?

          • Kangaroo52

            You’re the “girl.”

          • Charles Sparrow

Yes Cindy, we r afraid of muslims and focus all our hate on u personally. Sheeesh.

          • Cindy Vallone

you want freedom from Islam too? Force them to wear plain clothes in public? Yes??? No burkas?

          • Charles Sparrow

The difference between genius and stupidity is, genius has limits.

          • Charles Sparrow

Karen, far be it from me to borrow from the comic book bible but, u really r “casting ur pearls before swine” with this guy,. Let him get off his lazy, ignorant ass and do his own research or he can keep spouting off showing his stupidity-the hallmark of the Christian mind.

          • Barbara Repko

If God “offends” you so much, here’s an idea – Don’t use American currency since it has the word “God” on it. Don’t take Christmas Day off with pay. Stupid intolerant hypocrite. And the 1st Amendment guarantees freedom OF religion, not FROM religion. Try reading the Constitution, unless the words are too big for you to understand.

          • Brian Westley

“Again, you don’t get to exercise rights when trying to deny the same to others.”

I’m not. Like I said, stop lying about atheists. We have the SAME rights.

“under the banner of the nation whose founder’s Motto was “In God We Trust”"

No, that was done in 1956. Franklin and Jefferson went with “E Pluribus Unum”

          • Diane

You are right Jose. Folks fled their countries cause they did not like it where they were. Go figure. Come here and then want it like it was where you came from?

          • David Ewers

People in prison have every right under the first amendment, they have the right to a lawyer when charged with another crime. The only rights they lose while in prison is the right to privacy and the right of course to own a firearm.

Next time you make a remark like this have a basic knowledge of the subject

          • Jose CUnha

David, you’re not too bright are you? Sure, prisoners have all kinds of rights. Except the right to do anything except what they are told when they are told. But if you think prison is so great, not too hard to get a spot, give it try. You statement is laughable. Perhaps a mental institution is more your speed.

          • David Ewers

It is obvious that you cannot talk about the subject and go on some tirade. Your intelligence should be questioned.

          • Kangaroo52

No, you’re the one with questionable intelligence. A man who likes things shoved up his rear end is demented.

          • Charles Sparrow

Having religion shoved in ur braind is more disgusting and perverted.

          • Cindy Vallone

really? May want to google “health risks of homo practices.” Pretty repulsive.

          • Charles Sparrow

            And his mental health.

          • Cindy Vallone

ooooh I see a bromance developing. Get a room

          • Cindy Vallone

I mean a bath house. lol

          • Charles Sparrow

U and David go to a mental health clinic and each of u tell them what u believe and see who gets admitted. I’m sure they’ll furnish u a toothbrush.

          • Charles Sparrow

Hey, clueless. Research when, how, and why that motto was added, then come back. Ur making a bigger fool of urself than we thought u were,

        • goteki45

Like creating this bogus claim of separation between church and state in order silence Christian expression of faith,

          • Brian Westley

Nope, you have exactly the same rights as me. Want a billboard? Go lease time on one.

          • Jose CUnha

Brian you seem like a reasonable guy, if go lease time on a billboard, why do a band of atheists come and try to take it down or feel the need to put one up next to it to tell me I am a fool for believing in Christ? I am not asking you to believe or else. Why do you atheists think they have to make people not believe? You do realize that putting up a billboard where you cross out the name of Christ might offend someone who is a devout Christian, right? Why not put up a billboard that simply says, I’m an atheist and I celebrate without deities or dogma. Wouldn’t bother me a bit. But why do you have to attack other religions, especially Christianity? Don’t see too many of you traveling to Tehran to put up billboards that say ” Mohammed was a bull shitter”. As for Christmas decorations in public places and buildings, they are there because the MAJORITY of people want them there. No one is saying you can’t put up symbols of other religious beliefs or even displays of ABSENCE of religious beliefs. But if we don’t attack you, why do you feel the need to attack us? Don’t you understand that practicing religion freely is one of the most basic freedoms in this country? And you are hypocrites, because you say you want THE SAME rights when another of your atheist proponents just posted admitting that they believe “…freedom from religion is more in line with the beliefs of the founding fathers”. So you guys are not trying to do away with religion, huh? Why? Because it bothers you to see a Christmas nativity scene, or a menorah? I see many things daily that bother me, and yet I tolerate them. I don’t like them, but I tolerate them because this is America, and if you want your rights respected, you respect the rights of others. You and your atheists pals seem to have just bypassed that inconvenient fact. Go ahead be atheists. When the Jehovah Witnesses or Mormons or Southern Baptist knock on your door pedaling their religion, exercise your right to tell them to FO. But don’t get all militant with people who want to celebrate their holidays or faith they way they want because you think we should all abandon such beliefs, because that won’t fly in the United States.

          • Brian Westley

” if go lease time on a billboard, why do a band of atheists come and try to take it down”

Like I keep saying, STOP LYING ABOUT ATHEISTS.

When has a band of atheists EVER tried to take down a billboard, liar?

          • Jose CUnha

..you sound like Gun Control advocates who say they don’t want gun prohibition. Yet. They’ll get around to it later once we can’t do anything about it, because we have let them erode or rights to the point where we are powerless to stop them. Not gonna happen in either case.

          • Brian Westley

When has a band of atheists EVER tried to take down a billboard, liar?

          • Diane

They wont take it down as it suits their soap box. As for the constitution, it changes daily depending on which minority group whines the most. The message of Christ, and the bible has not changed in over 2000 years.
I for one, Jose, would no longer debate with haters, they thrive on unrest, which Is what this country has been doing since they voted in a muslim as the Pres.
            God help you all.

          • Charles Sparrow

god only exists in ur imagination.

          • Charles Sparrow

Problem is along with ur other delusions, u have convinced urself u have rights u really don’t have. We plan to straighten u out. Stay tuned.

          • Charles Sparrow

Let’s say atheists r attacking Christians. It’s the F’ing they get, For the F’ing they gave. It’s payback time!

          • Jose CUnha

..oh and if you have such a problem with “In God We Trust” on your currency, feel free to send all of it you come across to me and I will be glad to find a use for it. But I won’t be expecting any any time soon cause I’m sure your perturbation with religion does go so far as to cost you money.

          • Brian Westley

I find a magic marker removes it.

          • Tiger

What shade of makeup do you wear with an evening gown?

          • Cindy Vallone

his boyfriend picks his makeup. That’s why he’s trying so desperately to shut Christians up….in reality trying to silence his own conscience. never works.

          • Cindy Vallone

Geeeez Brian, all that energy and anger. Why don’t you just go and live your life. God won’t mind. Magic marker on a dollar bill? really? you that obsessed? MEDICATION TIME!!!!!!

          • Charles Sparrow

Very adept at recognizing and relating to obsessive fanaticism aint’cha? Brians is good, urs ain’t.

          • Cindy Vallone

Homos are constantly irritated by Christianity. Why? Because they are interested in silencing every voice that screams at them what they already innately know. And that is, that what they do is repulsive, unnatural and a pariah of society. It’s a sick attempt to silence their own consciences.

But, since they themselves know what they are doing is disgusting, and they
desperately need external endorsement from society. Strong-armed submission is
fine with them, as long as they don’t have to hear or see any reminders that
            their acts are repulsive.

          • Charles Sparrow

We intend to change that too.

          • Cindy Vallone

            lol have fun

          • Steve Greene

“Like creating this bogus claim of separation between church and state in order to silence Christian expression of faith”

Right. If Christians cannot use government to express their faith, then they have been silenced from expressing their faith.

It always telling against an argument when the argument begins on the basis of an obviously invalid premise.

But let me ask you this: Do you know what the ‘endorsement’ test is? Do you know what the ‘Lemon test’ is? If you don’t, I suggest you look up the text of the decision in the Kitzmiller case in Pennsylvania in 2005, and read what the judge explains in some detail about the endorsement test and the Lemon test in regard to the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

          • Charles Sparrow

I suggest u look at all the court cases we have won against the Christian supremacists.

        • Diane

Not true. You all speak louder than the rest.

          • Brian Westley

So what? Why do you hate the first amendment?

          • Tiger

            We don’t. We hate piss-ants.

          • Kangaroo52

We don’t. You’re the hater. All gays seem to hate. It appears your sleazy lifestyle must not be very gratifying.

          • Charles Sparrow

I’m not gay, but I hate religion, does that count? I like gays better than religious nuts.

          • Cindy Vallone

sure you’re gay. Come out of the closet girly girl

          • Charles Sparrow

            I don’t. I hate religion.

        • Tiger

You spread AIDS and spread misery. Oh, incidentally, when you hold political power, as in Russia, you kill millions of people.
Other than that, you’re wonderful people.

          • mike

spread AIDs? you mean give out condoms to stop AIDs??

          • Paul Hoskins

You characters don’t wear them, you “bareback” and share the viral love.

          • Charles Sparrow

Sure ur not Rick Warren in drag.?

          • Cindy Vallone

Aids was first issued as a blessing from the HOMO community, and then they blessed us further by giving blood. Thanks ladies.

          • Charles Sparrow

U spread infection and contaminate minds with the disease of religion that causes mental illness. How many Indians and blacks did the Christian settlers and the Christian kkk kill? Look up the “ROSEWOOD MASSCRE”. 25 miles from my house where those ” Good god fearing, WHITE Christians” washed the blood from their hands and went right back to church like they always do.

        • Kangaroo52

You’re a liar, you want to do in America what Stalin did in Russia, crush anyone who disagrees with you.

          • Charles Sparrow

Like the Christians did to the American Indians?

        • Barbara Repko

You atheists are always trying to deny us Christians our 1st Amendment rights that guarantee freedom from persecution. Quit believing your own lies and making yourselves out to be the “victims”.

        • DD

Yes, you are, little girl, you have that totalitarian urge that extremely effeminate men always have. In person you are total zero, so you go on the internet and try to sound butch and you only make yourself into a total fool.

          • Brian Westley

Ah, another brainless misogynist who is too cowardly to use even a made-up name.

      • Thomas Scott

Jose, Atheism is a religion, because they BELIEVE there is no God. Anything that has ‘ISM’ after it is a religion , which means “man’s way to reach God, which will not work. Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ and God trying to reach man! Atheism, Buddhism, Catholicism, Judaism and Islam are examples of this. Our personal works will not get us to heaven, but confessing you are a sinner, trusting and accepting that Jesus Christ is the Savior who died on the cross to save us from sin and death is all you need to do.Eph. 2:8 says, “For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God.”

        • Karen Mitchell

Islam doesn’t have an ‘ism’ at the end of it. But communism, socialism and fascism do.
Yeah, and Atheism is a religion like off is a tv channel. Like abstinence is a sex position. Like bald is a hair color. Like health is a disease. Like not smoking is a habit. Etc. etc.

          • Charles Sparrow

I beg again please, please marry me. I luv u gurl. Me n u is peas in a pod.

        • Diane

Amen Thomas , Amen. I for one believe it, and am glad I will not have to face God and tell Him what these folks are going to have to.

          • mike

unless you face Allah or zeus, in which case you got some esplainin’ to do

          • Charles Sparrow

I sometimes wonder if it is appropriate for us to make fun of the mentally ill.

          • Kangaroo52

You are the mentally ill, wanting something shoved up your ass.

          • Charles Sparrow

If there is a god I’m going to kick his ass for what his followers have done to our world.

          • Kangaroo52

Oooh, big man, I bet God is shaking all over with fear.
            LOL

          • Cindy Vallone

If there is a God, what makes you think you will ever see His face? If you are theorizing there is one, then you have to theorize there is a Hell, which is eternal separation from God. You’d never see Him IF there is one.

          • DD

You couldn’t kick a gnat off your v@gina.

        • Charles Sparrow

All u have to do is go to a mental health clinic and tell them u live in a world of imaginary superstition and fantasy and they will give u medication and therapy.

          • Cindy Vallone

I would except that there is endless evidence that the Bible is truth. Right down to the rise and fall of specific civilizations.

      • Diane

Great comment Jose. These folks put faith in our “Right”, amendments which have been around for about ????? years, but not the bible. How long has the bible been around? Lets see, over 2000 years? I for one believe in God, I know I will not have to face the judgement this will face, for that I am grateful. As for going to church, I don’t have to, I want to, I feel at peace in my heart. Its kind of like getting my batteries charged up after all the unrest I have faced during the week. It gives me enough to get me through each week til I get to be there once again, and have peace again.

        • mike

the bible’s been changed plenty in the last 2000 years. The Koran and the Torah have beenn changed much fewer times.

          • Cindy Vallone

bwaaaaa haaaaaaa…. Attack attack attack the enemy…unless of course they are violent and would take off your head. Whatta lil coward

          • mike

this is anonymous so what does it matter. The point of the billboard is because CHRISTMAS is a national holiday in america, not romadon.

      • Chris Jones

        Sillier and sillier. So cute!

        • Cindy Vallone

          gayer and gayer….so dainty

        • Kangaroo52

Well, you are sillier, but not cute.

      • Charles Sparrow

        It plainly makes u confused.

    • Bob Gibson

I’ve not thrown anything in your face it is others that will have our rights taking away Jennifer and then what??

      • Karen Mitchell

Nobody is trying to take away your right to believe in any nonsense you want; believe in unicorns, we really don’t care. However, we do not want your beliefs to be the rule of law – you know, like you don’t want Sharia law.

    • goteki45

Progressive Atheists are the ones who are uncomfortable in their own skin. I’m a Christian and I have conservative Atheist and Agnostic friends, and they don’t act anything like these oversensitive sad sacks. Frankly they could care less if they come across a nativity scene but then again they are comfortable in the non belief so they don’t have the need to trash religion in order to make themelves feel better.

      • Charles Sparrow

U hang around with phony atheists. Find some real ones. Bad associations, ya know?

        • Kangaroo52

What put you in a bad mood, dude? Didn’t get any action last night in the men’s room?

    • Paul Hoskins

Can you post a photo of Christian things being throw in your face? That would be interesting.

      • Charles Sparrow

Wish I had 1 of the 10 comm. monument on our courthouse lawn. Sure a bright boy like u can find pics of the one in starke Fla. where we put an atheist monument next to it>

    • P Hill

What about a Christians First Amendment right? Is that not what these atheist’s are depriving us of? That knife cuts both ways, you libs tend to forget that.

    • Cindy Vallone

no, what you and your ilk are trying to do is infringe on the First Amendment rights AND the freedom of religion of Christians. You are all too cowardly to go to the local mosque and do the same.

      • mike

local mosque not bothering me. Unless they put a muhomed statue on public land or something

        • Cindy Vallone

the people who worship IN the local mosque killed 3,000 people in NYC. Take note coward

          • mike

no distinction between muslims? all terrorists?

          • Cindy Vallone

Did you see them condemning 9/11? I missed that public outrage. hmmmm

    • Cindy Vallone

Jennifer, I notice on your twitter feed that all you really do is attack Christians. But you all hate it when Christians speak out against homos. Why the disconnect and where is the live and let live bullshit you seem to lack??

      • Charles Sparrow

That Christian mouth. Must be the way jesus talked.

        • Cindy Vallone

read the book. Jesus had no problem saying BROOD OF VIPERS and calling people LIARS when He was confronted with them. Again live and let live right?

    • Kangaroo52

When the Christian stuff was thrown in your face, why didn’t you duck?

    • Barbara Repko

Actually the 1st Amendment was designed to protect Christians from persecution, not you poor misunderstood atheist “victims”. Educate yourself.

    • Independent Tom

You’re too cowardly to fund a billboard that advises terrorists to take the pedophile they worship out of some kooky suicide bomber’s holiday :-)

    • cazie

Jenn-why can’t you just turn your head, turn the channel or ignore things you don’t agree with? Christians do it all the time. I’m always changing the channel -not wanting to watch the smutt. Our country allows freedom of speech and freedom to ‘pratice’ (engage in ) religion.

      • Karen Mitchell

It also allows for freedom FROM religion. Ya’ll make that difficult sometimes.

    • HonestToAtee

Who the hell wants your silly stuff? If you people would leave the rest of us alone there would be no need for this story! But it’s a fight you want so…….

    • missnellie

Jennifer, we obviously now know you are an atheist. OH BY GOD…you are right – we Christians LOVE to throw our beliefs down your throat. Seriously, are you a moron. There would be no holiday called Christmas- no matter what form it takes today – if it were not for the birth of Christ. David Silverman is a Jew…there is no objection to Hanukkah and there is an attempt to honor it via the menorah! Which in and of itself an oxymoron. I have no feelings for or against an atheists. My opinion of what you claim to be is irrelevant. But your attempt to deliberate on what Christians do at Christmas or practice is none of your business. You absurd attack of those who don’t agree with you is pointless. AND SOMEONE HAD TO HAVE PAID FOR THAT BILLBOARD – for the nondisclosure, you are all cowards. So MERRY CHRISTMAS, Jennifer…

  • Rose Lee Potorti Badame

What an idiot, We can’t have Christmas without the religion… Christmas is Religion… It started with the Catholic Religion… This idiot doesn’t know squat about it.
    I’m offended, Christmas is Christ…
It’s the atheist’s that made it a commercial, money making thing..
Our trees are Christmas Tree’s, Not Holiday Tree’s..
December 25th is what we celebrate as Christmas.. If you don’t believe it, than please don’t celebrate it with expensive gifts. It’s all about peace & helping others…

    • Dustin Page

actully its a pagan ritual. winter solstice stolen by your stupid christian people…. just like all of the other things in your religion… all PLAGIARIZED! YOU STUPID SHEEP!

      • Rachael N. Jacobs

It is true that Yeshua (Jesus) was likely born at Feast of Tabernacles, not during the celebration of Sol Invictus, the sun god. That doesn’t change that it’s okay to set aside a day and remember His coming into the world as fully God and fully man. No one can force it down your throat, though many try, because it’s a heart condition . . . a gift freely given to ALL by God Almighty. If you chose to reject that gift and the gift GIVER, He won’t stop you nor will I. Just a coupleof questions: During the 7-yr. Tribulation, what will you do when you’re forced to take the Mark of the Beast or have your head chopped off? What will you do when you have no choice but to choose good or evil? That time is almost upon us and it is atheists, muslims, communists, fascists, et al who are bringing it to fruition just as God Almighty planned before the foundations of time. Christianity did not start with the Catholic Church. It started in Israel with a handful of believers who saw the truth. Atheists have made their choice and sincere believers have made theirs. Let it be.

        • Charles Sparrow

          Delusional.

      • goteki45

“stupid christian people”? Very tolerant and compassionate of you Atheist. I know all Atheists aren’t hate filled like you, so I am not going to broad brush. Anyways The gift giving aspect of Christmas is derived from the wise men bring gifts to the baby Jesus. The Christmas Tree has no merit in the bible,

        • mike

read the content, don’t just cry about being called stupid

        • Diane

I will pray for you goteki45, as I know I have a home in My Father’s Place. These people are scary.
          .

          • mike

you are really set on this christian heaven thing aincha? I am sorry to tell you this, but someone at church has been lying to you gullible little sheep

          • Paul Hoskins

We’re not the ones going around on all fours…

          • mike

            ? praying?

          • Paul Hoskins

            No, you, getting sodomized

          • Charles Sparrow

Funny u should bring that up. On ur mind a lot is it?

          • Kangaroo52

We can spot the gaytheist trolls a mile away. You must not have gotten any last night so now you go online and bash Christians. Bashing us isn’t going to solve your man problems.

          • Charles Sparrow

But u do handle snakes, speak in tongues, and drink poison koolaid.

          • Charles Sparrow

U should be scared. I’m an armed, militant atheist, full of hate and anger at religion for what it has done to our world and intend to see it wiped from the face of the earth. The caption under my picture in the high school yearbook says, ” Voted most likely to take a human life”. Be afraid, be very afraid.

          • DD

Yeah, shaking all over – not from fear, from snickering.

          • Charles Sparrow

            He who snickers first……………..

      • Paul Hoskins

Oh brother, another “I know what a winter solstice” is buffoon.
You can’t “plagiarize” a religion, you moron, you plagiarize documents.
        Nut

    • Steve Greene

These remarks are so amusing in their absurdity, it makes you wonder whether Poe’s Law is being put into play. (If you don’t know what Poe’s Law is, look it up.)

Dec. 25 is not in the Bible as a holiday. Christmas trees are not in the Bible. A Christmas Day celebration is not in the Bible. Just like Santa Claus, elves, and reindeer are not in the Bible. In fact, many of these elements are aspects of the Christian takeover of pagan winter solstice celebrations many centuries ago, and other elements were simply added to various traditions after that.

I always laugh when Christians try to pretend that they have some sort of automatic monopoly on winter solstice celebrations in culture, and when they try to pretend that their very human traditions (some of them picked up directly from paganism) are some sort of inherently Christian religious doctrine despite the fact that they do not even exist in the New Testament.

Finally, any Christian who gets all bent out of shape (and do not it is only some Christians, not all Christians, though it is a large number of them) acting all offended about anyone who would dare to engage in seasonal celebrations around the time of the winter solstice in a secular manner is merely demonstrating absurd behavior.

  • Rose Lee Potorti Badame

This does have to do with our amendments. The amendment of Freedom of RELIGION,….
Catholic’s don’t care of Jews celebrate Hanukkah, or Africans celebrate Kwanza, or Chinese have their New Year.. This is Freedom of your own religion.. You also have the Freedom to have NO RELIGION.. But, that doesn’t give you the right to tell other’s we can’t celebrate ours because you don’t Want Any at all. !!!

    • Brian Westley

No, the free speech past of the first amendment does that.

    • Dustin Page

IT CAN WHEN IT IS ON LAND HELPED PAID FOR BY MY TAX DOLLARS.. IT MOST CERTAINLY DOES. ok then, you should have no problem with a satanic pentagram right next to that nativity scene..(which is historically inaccurate, btw)

      • Drisana Merry Williams

PUT WHAT EVER YOU WANT UP THAT IS THE FREEDOM OUR SOLDIERS FOUGHT FOR AND DIED FOR BUT NO ONE EVER WANTS TO DO IT THEY JUST WANT THE CRECHE TAKEN DOWN

        • Karen Mitchell

Bullshit. Our soldiers fight and die to protect corporate interests. Learn some real American history.

          • Adrian Croft

This d*ke sounds like she took a gender studies course.

          • Charles Sparrow

Please marry me. Please? I like ur style. When u hot, u hot!

          • Kangaroo52

You probably have warts down there, lots of odors and oozy things.

      • Diane

Don’t go there Dustin. The base did not pay anyone to put it up. As for land you paid for with tax dollars, that is like beating a drum with no sound. That is so idiotic, have you ever looked at the list of things your tax dollars pay for that you don’t get to take advantage of? Get off that tax dollar garbage.

      • Charles Sparrow

She Is in the same fantasy world with god and all the other characters, can’t u tell?

    • Diane

If Christmas is so bad, as it is celebrated all over the world, (sure some don’t) and it is a national Holiday, then don’t take that day off from work. Don’t celebrate it. But should you own a business tell your customers , as I am sure , that many will not patronize your store.

    • Charles Sparrow

We r talking about on public lands and in gov. institutions, well yes ia am dedicated to wiping religion off the face of the earth-I have a dream.

    • MarilynLaCourt

Excuse me. Who is telling you you can’t have your religions celebrations?
I Don’t Know Any Atheist Who Would Not Fight For Your Right To Celebrate Christmas As A Christian Religion.

      Do You, Actually?

You can display your cresches on your own private property, at your churches, and even on privately owned business sites. You can purchase billboards that display your christian messages. There is no law prohibiting you from your right to free speect, AS LONG AS IT IS NOT PROMOTED ON “PUBLICLY OWNNED TAX PAYER SUPPORTED PROPERTY.

The ONLY problem comes when you insist on “exclusivity”when it comes to those displays on PUBLIC tax supported property. You refuse to share the holiday with other religions and with non belivers who also should have the right to celebrate the holidays – for example atheists who wish to celebrate winter solstice and reason during this winter holiday season.

The conflict is not about who has the truth, who is right or wrong. It’s not even about religion and god/gods, it’s about who has the “exclusive” right to display their religious views on public, tax payer supported property.

PLEASE stop playing the victim here.

  • Brown Sugar

Why don’t the atheists go live in a communist country some were and leave us alone ?

    • Brian Westley

      Because
      1) they live here
      2) they have the SAME rights as you, not less

      • Brown Sugar

I am not the one who is trying to take away anyone’s rights. It is you who wants to take our rights from us.

        • bigpawn01

the only right being taken from christians is the one where they force us all to acknowledge their religion. You are the guys that need to live under communism that is what you are trying to do to america

          • Karen Mitchell

Isn’t it amazing how they cram their religion down your throat and the minute you try to make them stop, they start yelling “Christian persecution”?

          • Paul Hoskins

When I hear some bitter woman bring up “cramming,” that tells me that she hasn’t been getting enough cramming and that makes them so cranky.

          • Charles Sparrow

Ur fading. Must be true, if u can’t defend an indefensible position-get nasty and personal. Brilliant, just brilliant.

          • Charles Sparrow

Don’t forget “Attacking us and taking our religious rights, liberties and freedoms.

          • Charles Sparrow

            Exactly.

        • Diane

Good point. If you don’t like something that someone put up, don’t look at it. Do you agree with all the billboards put up today? Brian, you like to just cause unrest. Age makes a difference.

        • Charles Sparrow

U religious “Rights”, exist in ur head , home and church. Nowhere else.

      • Paul Hoskins

But if they’re like you, they live with their mommies and don’t pay taxes, so actually you should have no rights at all until you grow up and get a job some day.

        • Charles Sparrow

We spend all our time at Palin Pep rallys.

    • Dustin Page

funny i always here the religious talking about a communist country……. you do realize that religion is socialism…..jesus(if he was actually real) would have been the biggest communist of the bunch! FOOLS!

      • Jose CUnha

..learn to spell, or is proper spelling and grammar religious as well. Moron…

        • Karen Mitchell

I’ve been reading your posts, Jose; you might want to be careful about calling other people morons as it makes you look hypocritical.

          • Jose CUnha

Karen, coming from a brain trust like, you I think I can take that chance.

          • Karen Mitchell

Reread what you just wrote, Einstein, and then tell me how everybody else is a moron.

          • Jose CUnha

…not everybody else, just you and a handful of others here. Some of your atheist friends are misguided, but not complete morons. Can’t say the same for you though.

          • mike

guns and jeezzus!! jeeezus with a gunn!!

          • Paul Hoskins

Go get a cucumber, your mood will change dramatically.

          • Charles Sparrow

Try a life, see what it does for ur’s. Sure ur r not really Sick Rantorum?

    • Tiger

Because you’re safer being an atheist in a Christian country than an atheist in an atheist in an atheist country.

  • themotivat

A true core atheist would not accept holiday pay for Christmas, Good Friday, or Easter

    • Steve Greene

And a true Christian wouldn’t even accept Christmas, Good Friday, or Easter in the first place because they do not exist in the New Testament, which proves that even the Christian god never set them up in the first place according to Christians’ own scripture.

      • Karen Mitchell

There are soooooooooooo many contradictions in the bible.

        • Paul Hoskins

Soooooo many, and so many college-educated Christians who are just fine with the Bible, so hey, if you don’t like it, Medusa, don’t read it.

          • Charles Sparrow

Shows what a college education from Liberty does for u. U get more from reading comic books.

          • Steve Greene

Unless you’re using Jack Chick comics.

          • Charles Sparrow

Not familiar- I liked the phantom.

      • SSJWZ

Nobody said it did. So what’s your point? The religion of YOU isn’t mentioned either.

        • Steve Greene

Perhaps you didn’t read the remark made by “themotivat” – which I was responding to. There is not much that is more tedious than trying to deal with responses made by people who completely ignore the context of what has been stated.

      • themotivat

So your death notice would read, All dressed up and no where to go

        • Steve Greene

          Okay. Your point?

        • Paul Hoskins

They get cremated – that is, a “head start.”

    • Paul Hoskins

Most of the ones on this thread don’t have jobs anyway, which is why they are bored and crabby.

  • https://www.facebook.com/FarRightOfLeft Farrightofleft

Question: How come the atheists never go and make their demands on the Muslims?

    • Jose CUnha

…cause they would be dog food, but of course this is America, so we have to put up with assholes like Dustin and Brian and Jennifer. And we do because we understand that in America we have to tolerate even things we disagree with. These atheist assholes on the other hand think its their mission to sanitize the country of anything they don’t like. Wrong country, MFs.

      • Charles Sparrow

Right we intend to wipe The infectious, contaminating, disease of religion that causes mental illness and conflict from the earth. I have a dream.

    • IslandAtheist

      Ramadan isn’t a national holiday.

      • SSJWZ

        Thaank Heaven!

    • Karen Mitchell

Muslims don’t knock on our doors asking if we’ve heard the word of Mohammed. Muslims aren’t trying to erect statues in government buildings that promote their religion all while denying everybody else the same. I’ve never had a Muslim gleefully tell me I’m going to burn in hell for all eternity. Etc. etc. However, it doesn’t mean we “like” Islam more than Christianity. You want to see us go after Islam? Watch what happens when they try to install Sharia law somewhere in this country or make Ramadan a national holiday. (You do understand why a federally mandated religious holiday is illegal, right?) You will be glad that Atheists are fighting the good fight then.

      • Adrian Croft

You’re right, Muslims don’t knock on doors, they knock down doors.
        And tall buildings.

        • urban.spaceman

          Two tall buildings.

          • Adrian Croft

Right, no biggy. What’s a little jihad among friends, right?

        • Charles Sparrow

And why? Gosh, all this “Christian nation” did was overthrow their gov., invade countries killing millions, etc. What on earth could they be mad about? They r just like the American Indians and blacks-they just can’t do the “Christian” thing and forgive and forget.

      • Charles Sparrow

        U go gurl!

        • Kangaroo52

          U go gurl

    • Paul Hoskins

Because they are nerdy little cowards and they know that beating up Christians is PC and they are p*ssies.

      • Charles Sparrow

Can’t find a political article to post on? Try “praying to god for guidance”. Maybe i’ll cross my fingers and make a wish for u. It should help about as much. Christian supremacists think they r getting beat up on? “It’s the F’ing they get, For the F’ing they gave”. How does it feel? Better get used to it cuz they is lot’s more to come. They ain’t seen nuthin’ yet. It’s a new day, pal. The worm has turned.

    • urban.spaceman

Because the most devout Muslims have a penchant inciting murder on people who even DRAW A PICTURE of Mohammed. That puts people off somewhat. The Christians however are much more lovely and tend to just whine about being victimised to websites like this and the Daily Mail.

    • Charles Sparrow

Because muslims have not put a 10 comm. monument on our courthouse lawn like the Christian supremcacists have done where I live.

      • EliseR

And the Muslims don’t throw a fit if you don’t greet them with their preferred Muslim holiday greeting.

        • Charles Sparrow

          Huh?

    • DD

Because they are cowardly little losers with small genitals.

  • Joe Krol

Without CHRIST there would be NO CHRISTMAS!!!

    • Steve Greene

      So true.

We’d be celebrating some other special day around the time of winter solstice – you know, like other people already do now anyway.

I always laugh when Christians try to pretend they have a monopoly on winter solstice celebrations.

      • Charles Sparrow

They have had a monopoly on everything else too and they don’t want to let go. But they will.

    • Charles Sparrow

Without medication and therapy there would be no treatment for mental illness either. Try both.

      • Joe Krol

It amazes me that when someone on the left, has no real or reasonable position from which to debate; their first, and generally their only statement, comes in the form of the derogatory…

        • Kangaroo52

          Because they are morons.

    • EliseR

Sure there would be. It would be called Saturnalia, which is what the winter gift-giving holiday was called before the Christians stole it.

  • dangerouspatriot

I feel really bad for you atheists out there when you die. Do you believe you have an immortal soul that goes on when you die?? If you don’t, you’re only fooling yourselves. Ever look at a dead body?? I mean really look at a dead person? The body is nothing but a shell, a shell that contains life. There is something inside of that body that lives and keeps that body going besides the heart, lungs, brain, blood and all that makes up a human body. There is something else inside of each persons body that drives all that there is in that body, it’s a soul. A God given soul that goes on after the body dies from whatever, disease, heart failure, etc. And when that soul goes on there are only two places it can go, Heaven or hell. Where do you plan on spending eternity?? Or do you ridiculously believe that when you die, that’s all there is?? If you do, you have a very narrow and ignorant view on what life really is all about. I wonder what you will say to Jesus when He looks at you and says, ‘I don’t know you.’ Guess where you’re going to go? I’ll leave it up to your imagination. If you want to believe there is absolutely nothing beyond death, go ahead but I’ll bet any amount of money, you’re going to be really surprised when you die. Peace and love to you and a Merry Christmas. Repent, believe in Jesus and be Saved.

    • Charles Sparrow

Wow, how did the field of science ever get along without U? Admit u have mental health problems, Get therapy, and medication.

  • fusco

Who of you hypocrites atheists will start protesting islam, and the muslims, you won’t be ause Christians are fair game to you, because GOD teaches us love and kindness not evil hatred a d persecution. Have a Blessed Merry Christmas

    • Charles Sparrow

We will protest islam when they start behaving as bad as Christians. They have a long way to go.

  • Navy VeteranCPO

So, Ramadan without Mohammad is not Ramadan. Well, Christmas without Christ is not Christmas. I wish Sean called this idiot out on that statement.
The only reason this guy does not put up a similar display regarding Ramadan is Muslims will lop your heads off for defaming their prophet. Yes I am being very stereotypical but look at what happens when you do attack Islam. These clowns have no problem attacking the Christian faith because they know their heads will not be cut off.

    • francoamerian

You are right. The Muslims would cut his head off if he insulted Mohammed the way he insults Christianity. He is a coward and a jerk.

      • Charles Sparrow

U are welcome to find out if atheists r cowards. I’m ya huckleberry. Say when.
