Cher’s son shows class; apologizes to Palin family for mom’s vile c-word comment

Class will tell.

Or maybe genes have something to do with it.

Elijah Blue Allman, the son of Cher and Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers, issued an apology to the family of Sarah Palin after Allman’s Hollywood has-been mother tweeted a foul-mouthed reference to the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate.

In a pre-Thanksgiving assault, Cher tweeted:

chertweetnew

In a Nov. 19 Facebook letter, Palin’s brother, Chuck Heath, asked the singer to apologize.

Dear Cher,

I was sorry to hear that you tweeted out such vile comments about my little sister yesterday. It’s sad because Sarah has never had a harsh word to say about you. In fact, our grandmother was one of your biggest fans.

Have a good night,
Chuck

It’s unknown whether Cher got the message, but her half-Allman son did. And the half-Allman side showed, with a touch of class — and more than a little embarrassment it seemed. Apologizing for your mother can’t be easy.

As might be expected from a member of the Palin clan, Heath was gracious in response.

A little too gracious for some Palin fans, who applauded Allman’s spirit, but said it wasn’t really his place. After all, since when have the sins of the mothers been visited upon the sons?

As pretty as it is to think it’s possible, the day Cher or any other famous lefty personally apologizes for the countless, unwarranted insults spewed at Sarah Palin since she burst onto the national scene five years ago will be a cold day in hell.

And as much as the libs love to bleat about climate change, even they know that’s not going to happen.
