Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Merry…Gingerbread House?
You would certainly think America now celebrates some kind of holy gingerbread bread house holiday if you saw the United States Postal Service mailer recently sent out featuring the new 2013 holiday stamps available for purchase.
A Twitter user saw the flyer and tweeted a photo of it, which set off a national firestorm online that was picked up by the national media.
Don’t forget those three American holidays: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and…..gingerbread house. #USPS pic.twitter.com/EGY85c9KPX

Glaringly absent on the three stamps featured in the ad is Christmas, and is instead represented by a gingerbread house, while the Kwanzaa and Hanukkah stamps have their names emblazoned right across the top.
The USPS responded to the outrage on Twitter to explain that they do indeed sell a Christmas stamp, but the flyer showed the three newest stamps available.
That explanation didn’t sit well, and people are still confused as to why the USPS would choose to acknowledge two religious holidays and ignore Christmas.
God forbid the day we walk around wishing each other a Merry Gingerbread House.
