School teaches kids to serve Obama with ‘I pledge’ video

After airing the pro-Obama “I Pledge” video at a Wisconsin middle school’s Peace One Day event, school district officials had to apologize to a group of angry parents and students.

The Hudson School District admitted the video’s central message of serving the president could have been perceived as offensive to some people, according to MyFox9.com.

The video featured celebrities pledging to make a better world. Although most of their examples were pretty innocuous, some were downright over the top.

“I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama,” Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis said in the video.

“I pledge to be a servant to our president,” actress Demi Moore said.

Middle School Principal Dan Koch apologized to students Thursday afternoon. MtFox9 reported:

The “I Pledge” video we viewed yesterday included some messages about serving President Barack Obama. We apologize for any part of the video that was offensive to students, their families and staff. The video conveyed a message that people serve the presidency when in fact our elected officials serve the people. We respect the Office of the President of the United States but like all of our other elected officials, that office serves each of us as well. I sincerely hope that as participants in Wednesday’s event what you took away from the experience was to choose to make a difference in your world.

Here’s an interesting observation. On Wednesday, when students in Hudson, Wisc., were encouraged to serve President Obama, students in Liberal, Kan., were urged to serve God through student-led prayer.

All things considered, I’d rather be in Kansas.

Here’s the YouTube video that caused the furor.

Can’t wait for the brown shirts to be issued and the kids to be instructed as to how to turn their non submissive parents in to the “homeland”.

it is trying to break through… read the small paperback “Tortured for Christ” as it details the communist takeover with remarkably similar tactics

    So would Dorothy.

Each day brings some new example of when Obama first campaigned and stated he wanted to fundamentally change the Country. Terrifies me what can happen in the next three years!

  • King Umbarrii

I pledge to see Obama and all the traitorous communist pigs in government now to be charged tried and put in prison for the crimes they have committed.

problem is when they make a move to take over it will be too late to resist… you already can hardly find many types of ammo… not suggesting we go to war, but there has never been a time in my life when you could not find ammo to use at a range or to hunt

Isn’t that nice. They have our children pledging to Dear Leader, just like in North Korea.

As they did in Germany in 1934

Even though I no longer live in Wisconsin, I’m deeply offended by this. Don’t teachers have to have something this radical approved by the principal ? Teachers should not be allowed to indoctrinate their classes toward either Party . Parents need to do more than just complain to the school . This should go to the superintendent ,
plus ,the teacher ,herself, needs her class bias addressed. Maybe, she shouldn’t be in any classroom.

    • Brenda

Then TAKE BACK YOUR SCHOOLS. File a formal complaint with the school board, and, if they take no action then start working to replace them.

Brenda, My children are grown , but, I’ve alerted my son to pay close attention to what’s going on in his children’s school in Ohio.

        • Brenda

Not only in Ohio but all across the nation.

          • 1dahliagirl

I know. I started following education in KY a few years ago because of Common Core, but, started seeing other abuses elsewhere not related to it. I follow the Mackinac Center for Public Policy & quite a bit on vouchers & charter schools, but, I’m sure I have plenty to learn .

        • Mary Poma

Yeah, better make sure your grandkids can never form their own identity! Keep them in line and don’t them grow into someone you don’t want them to be!

            KMSP-TV reports

….three and a half minutes into the four-minute video, Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis kisses both biceps and proclaims ‘I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama.’

Later, at the end of the video, Demi Moore and Kutcher stand together and declare, ‘I pledge to be a servant to our President

Hudson Middle School Principal Dan Koch pointed out in his apology that the video wasn’t just politically-slanted – it was factually incorrect.

‘The video conveyed a message that people serve the presidency, when in fact our elected officials serve the people,’ he wrote in a statement to his students.

      • Mary Poma

Really Brenda? What was so wrong with the message of the video? And all those pledges? Because someone supports Obama and says so it is cause to file a formal complaint? All those pledges sounded to me like if everyone did them the world would be a better place. But you just want to keep spewing hate.

        • Brenda

          Spewing hate is it?
Because I do not like the idea of children pledging allegance to an individual regardless of who he or she is. The video had good ideas. Ideas that if the actors protrayed lived up to would make the world on a whole a better place. However, the only countries I am aware of that pledge allegience to their leader are communist countries.
Our children need to learn to think for themselves, rationally, not be indoctrinated into believing they owe their allegience to only one person.
As for cause to file a formal complaint, the school involed even admitted the video could be construed as a central message in support of obama. And, even you will have to admit much of the theme surrounded obama’s agenda.

    • Mary Poma

AHHH but here is a teachable moment! Things like this is what is MOST needed in schools these days! Kids need to learn their own path, not just follow the ideas of their parents! This kind of controversy can be discussed in class, providing everyone’s input is considered and accepted. Everyone has their opinion and the teacher is only the guide, not the master. Geez, I think we better start teaching our kids to think for themselves.

      • cootsmeister

let’s teach them to think for themselves, I’m certain that’s exactly what Meine Fuhrer wants, sheep that think for themselves. No good slave was ever encouraged to think for themselves. I PROMISE to SERVE…no thank you. Not him, not ANY president. EVER. If you think it’s a happy dandy world full of fluffy unicorns and we should all serve our master in the White House…then not only am I sad for you and yours, I’m also frightened as you’re a prime example of those who would gladly hand over the keys to their freedoms (and mine) so that you may be kept safe and secure from harm, no thought necessary on your part, just pledge and serve.

      • 1dahliagirl

It’s nothing but propaganda like I saw with the video of a kindergarten class saying by rote …. we love Obama, mmmm , mmmm , mmmm. Repeat. Repeat ad nauseum. There is no thoughtful conversation there .
I was fortunate to go to a private school where we did think for ourselves . Our family produced 3 doctors, 3 nurses , & a geologist . One doctor brother was head of his field in the international specialty community , is well written, & speaks all over the world to fellow doctors. Harvard offered him a position which he declined.
So, I don’t think you are in a position to lecture me. What has your public school done for you ?

      • Brenda

Kids, today, do learn their own paths and it is quite evident that many of them do not follow the ideas or ideals of their parents. In middle school, kids do not discuss, they listen. There are few classrooms in our schools that allow for open discussions.
And, in case you haven’t noticed, our school systems have not taught kids to think for themselves since federal programs came into play. No Child Left Behind, LEAP, and now Common Core? They are taught to take the test with very little other information being taught on the side.

  • aptucker

Using innocent, thoughtful words to lure them in and then hook them with #servanttothepresident words. Very Nazi-like! #DivisiveDestructiveDelusionalDemocrats

    • 19Robes50

      Absolutely! Servant to the president??????

What the hell are we doing here?
