Ted Cruz does Darth Vader impersonation from Senate floor

vader-obamaIn his 21 hour plus courageous stand in opposition to the funding of Obamacare, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, went through a lot of content on the Senate floor, including what was likely the first reading of “Green Eggs and Ham,” by Dr. Seuss.

Another first may be the impersonation of the Star Wars character Darth Vader.

Cruz compared Washington, D.C., to the Empire, saying that “just like in the Star Wars movies, the Empire will strike back.”

“But at the end of the day, I think the Rebel Alliance, I think the people will prevail,” he said.

Cruz then added: “I wondered if at some point we were going to see a tall gentleman in a mechanical breathing apparatus come forward and say in a deep voice, ‘Mike Lee, I am your father.’

U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, stood with Cruz throughout his prolonged speech that nearly went around the clock. Video of that moment was posted on Twitter by Washington Free Beacon:
