Could some of those immigration dreamers turn out to be the country’s nightmare?
While President Obama is threatening acts of war against Syria, Syria’s main ally, Iran, has ramped up efforts to convert Hispanics in Central and America to radical Islam to act as foot soldiers for attacks in the Western Hemisphere and within the United States, according to TheBlaze.com.
And Iran is hoping to capitalize on the U.S. immigration reform movement to do it.
“Now what they desire is a proxy terrorist group that can easily slip past U.S. border security,” a U.S. security official told TheBlaze.com in a story posted Tuesday. “Who’s going to suspect an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, Mexico, or anywhere else for that matter, of being a jihadist?”
Iran’s major goal, according to TheBlaze, is to expand on its success with Hezbollah, the Lebanese terrorist group controlled by Iran that has become the de facto government in parts of Lebanon.
Creating that kind of “invisible army” in the southern backyard of the United States is a logical step, analysts told TheBlaze. Getting converts to radical Islam into the United States as regular illegal immigrants would be even better.
“Historically, Iran has tried to recruit agents from the Lebanese Shi’ite diaspora in South America and West Africa,” Heritage Foundation senior research fellow Jim Phillips said. ”This emphasis on Hispanic converts is something new.”
And not only is this coming at a time when the Senate has already passed a “comprehensive” pork-riddled immigration reform package, it is also when illegal immigrants are being taught to use a “loophole” to enter and stay in the country.
One of Iran’s chief weapons of mass conversion is the website Islamoriente.com, according to TheBlaze. Launched in 2008, it’s an all-in-one site for the jihadist-to-be, including reasons to convert to Islam, links to Iranian television programming in Spanish and anti-American news and commentary.
Another conversion program uses Iranian embassies in Mexico and South American countries to recruit young Hispanics. Just to make sure everything’s kosher, it’s run by the chief suspect in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aries, Argentina, TheBlaze reported.
According to an August report in the Washington Post, the program has brought hundreds of Hispanic converts from Central and South America to Iran for “intensive intensive Spanish-language instruction in Iranian religion and culture.”
Since the 1979 Islamic revolution, Iranian religion and culture” exports seems to involve shouting “death to America” at the drop of a hat. “Muerte a Estados Unidos” doesn’t have the same cachet yet, but in a nightmare, anything’s possible.
