The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Formed in 1961, the organization has a membership of more than 8,000 manufacturers, distributors, retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers.
The graphic below shares some somewhat surprising statistics on gun crimes that don’t get much coverage in the media. Titled “Gun Crimes Plummet even as Gun Sales Rise,” the stats even delve into the obsession local news outlets have with crime – it’s well worth a look.
