Harry Reid blows up on Senate floor, ‘sit down and shut up!’

In what may be a case of “summer-itis” or vacation fever, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid threw decorum out the window Thursday when colleagues were talking amongst themselves while Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, had the floor.

Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wisc., called for order on the Senate floor so Collins could speak on an appropriations bill. When the noise continued, Reid shouted, “Sit down and shut up!”

Reid has not exactly been cordial with some of his colleagues recently, calling Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, a “schoolyard bully” and saying Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., “tried to make love to the tea party, and they didn’t like it,” according to Mediaite.
