University professor says God is a white racist

While those on the left look to place blame for George Zimmerman’s acquittal in the death of Trayvon Martin, a radical professor said it’s because God is a white racist.

In an editorial published on Sunday, Anthea Butler, a religious professor at the University of Pennsylvania, proclaimed God is “a white racist god with a problem.”

“God ain’t good all of the time. In fact, sometimes, God is not for us. As a black woman in an nation that has taken too many pains to remind me that I am not a white man, and am not capable of taking care of my reproductive rights, or my voting rights, I know that this American god ain’t my god. As a matter of fact, I think he’s a white racist god with a problem. More importantly, he is carrying a gun and stalking young black men.”

Butler, who accused Walmart of being sharecroppers and slave owners earlier this year, acts like the country is still in 1950s Mississippi when she said “most good conservative Christians in America think… whatever makes them protected, safe, and secure, is worth it at the expense of the black and brown people they fear.”

“Their god is the god that wants to erase race, make everyone act ‘properly’ and respect, as the president said, ‘a nation of laws'; laws that they made to crush those they consider inferior,” she continued.

Never mind that a black man, President Barack Obama, is charged with the execution of the law, and another black man, Attorney General Eric Holder, heads up the federal department responsible for the enforcement of the law.

Nonetheless, Butler asks: “Is God the old white male racist looking down from white heaven, ready to bless me if I just believe the white men like Rick Perry who say the Zimmerman case has nothing to do with race?”

Joining Texas Gov. Rick Perry in that opinion just happens to be the Federal Bureau of Investigations — which falls under Eric Holder. After an extensive investigation of the Trayvon Martin shooting in June 2012, the FBI concluded that there was no evidence to support Zimmerman acted out of racial hatred.

In drawing to a close, Butler is as divisive as she is politically expedient:

“As a historian of American and African-American religion, I know that the Trayvon Martin moment is just one moment in a history of racism in America that, in large part, has its underpinnings in Christianity and its history.”

Speaking of God, may He bless those with the misfortune of being students in her classroom.

if a white person male or female had wrote that it would be all over the LSM,

if its allbout race why isit the biggest sector of gang killings are black on black or brown on brown.

i is sad that trayvon was killed but it had nothing to do with race as much as the LSM and the left would like us tobeieve that

    • darrel

I can't wait until you meet God on judgement day. You will meet the one and only true god and be accountable to god for ever vile wotd you have said. God have mercy on you.

wow that lady needs to pick up her bible and do some reading!!!!!!

    • Cyrus

I thought God was a Jew. After all, His son is.

      • Repeal the 16th Amendment

If this wasn’t such a sad example of black hatred of success I don’t know what is. I’ve been taught to think that GOD makes no mistakes, and Lady Gaga backs me up on that. This woman’s position however causes me to consider that maybe he did.

    • Buddy

It seems to me that some black people continue to keep the race card going. If they would look beyond they may see a better future. But I know that will never happen.

    • melek

      Right on

  • Paul Ruthfield

And this is what the University of Pennsylvania has teaching

our young adults? When did she see who or what he is. IMO, the School should summarily fire her.

    • Cha0s

fire her? that would be racist!

    • http://msn Gordita mia

I would look into her teachings!!! I wouldn't be surprised to find out this is what she tells her students… hey if they are not happy here, let them go back to their own country!!!

      • BlackAmericanSista

What country would that be? It's ignorant people like you that say things like that, that keeps racism alive.

        • Carol

how do you get what she said is racist?? If someone does not like America leave. Go wherever the hell you want……!! Keeping racism alive is what you are doing by being so nasty about her comment.

          • Mary Okorn-Jimenez

Keeping racism alive by taking offense at her diatrible?
            I hardly think so.
In fact, she is the one promoting and nurturing racism.
To rebel against that is the sure sign of a pure soul.
            Get it straight.

        • Jessica

yeah…because a black professor saying God is a racist isn't keeping racism alive…sheesh! Get real BlackAmericanSista!

      • patriot1742

You ready – wait for it – she is a professor of religion – what a cruel joke – but hey it is Penn. Look at all the other things they have allowed teachers to do to children.

    • Melek

She should have been fired some time ago, this cant be the only blasphemous statement she has said. Most "black" people are hard working, believing, people who dont look for someone else to blame, for their problems, like all of us, other peoples behaviour bring on consequences. Sometime fatal.

  • James

It is people like this woman that have caused me, long ago, to lose all pride in my achievements of an advanced degree and appointment to college professor hood. If people like her can achieve the same credentials/posts, it greatly depreciates all my hard work and successes. More of a concern, this woman has been given a podium to spout her anger and personal opinion to our next generation whom we expect to lead our nation – God help us.

    • Heywood

      Then teach the truth.

  • lovinspoonful

She is a professor and she uses such horrible grammar. She is one sick woman. She says He carries a gun? If she has seen Him she is sick because He's not come down to earth yet. She claims to be a historian of American religion. In her dreams. She knows absolutely nothing about religion of any kind. she is so wrapped up in her own little crazy world, she doesn't even know what goes on in the real world. She is too dangerous to be in a classroom.

    • Melek

I believe the term is "delushional".

  • Pat

I wonder when she had the opportunity to sit down and have a chat with God? I guess he must have said something to her to make her believe He was a racist…and also that he is white…hmmm no one has ever seen Him so how does she know what color He is?

    • Dwayne

She knows what color he is in this country because that is the only color that most accept as being God. Go into most churches, books, or recorded literature and then tell me what color he is. Any other color that tries to be represented the people are told he is not God or that color does not matter. The God of this country is a racist and that is what she said and nothing else. That is whole point behind Christianity (which represent less than 25% of the world population) when they tell you every other cultures religion is wrong. Jesus himself was not a Christian but because he is white America God then he must be a racist.

  • Tery Tucker

To the Professor: you are only a slave because you wont stand up and refuse to be used. You are marginalized because you allow yourself to be put in a box. None of these things have anything to do with God, and blaming Him will not change your fate or outlook on life. If you act like a stereo type, you will be that stereotype. Change the person in the mirror.

  • L ander

    SMH Ignorance!

  • Edna Haydon

I am amazed that you of all people would come into a web page trashing all the liberties the African Americans have achieved! The same liberties they have taken for granted without merit because they were given these liberties free of charge with the exception of the blood of the brave men who died to give slaves their freedom.

You must work hard to become what you desire to achieve in America, it can not be granted to you by race or nationality.

The American Dream was to be able to have the same rights as anyone else and so every one has received this.

    Nothing in life is free!

Now the Christian God is unfair racist because George Zimmerman was found innocent because he shot Trayvon Martin?

If he was so innocent why attack George Zimmerman, when he could have stayed calm and explained why he was where Zimmerman found him?

If this young man was so innocent why did he take off running?

Now I gave a question for you.

But isn't your God the same God who destroyed the Temple of Babble in order for everyone to be turned into different races and nationalities?

Here in our world today, you see the same races and nationalities sharing lives and destroying lives.

I hear about black on black crimes all the time and perhaps more often than I hear about white on white crimes.

I know that for every 19 percent Mexican & Orientals population versus a 30 percent of white population in jail, but there is also a 60 percent black population in most all jails around our world.

Judge, lest ye not be Judged!

GOD has a reason for all that He does, it is not for us to ask WHY, but for all of us to accept His WILL.

George Zimmerman Has Been Cleared of all Charges. The Only Court Not Yet Allowed Closeure Is That Of Race Card Public Opinion. Why Can't We All Get A Long. Love & Let Live. We are All Gods, Creatures. OK…….!
