Sen. Durbin defends speaking at rally full of communists and anarchists

File this report under: “We have met the enemy…”

A reporter from Breitbart.com caught up with U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) on Wednesday and asked him why he was speaking at a May Day rally being attended by “a large contingent of Communist Party USA, anarchists and international socialist groups.”

Durbin’s response speaks for itself — although, a little known fact is President Eisenhower did proclaim May 1st as “Law Day,” to honor the role of law in the creation of the United States of America.

In a speech given on Aug. 24, 1963, Soviet Union leader Nikita Khrushchev said: “I once said, ‘We will bury you,’ and I got into trouble with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you.”

These words can give one pause when considering the strong class warfare rhetoric coming from the Democratic Party today. It’s reasonable to wonder, given the actions of some Democratic politicians, if the party is doing what it can to help facilitate Khrushchev’s prediction.

H/T Weasel Zippers, who reminds us to “note the Che Guevara flag waving in Durbin’s face as he speaks to the crowd.”
