Undercover video evidence blows lid off post-birth abortion industry

LiveAction.org’s latest video series is titled “Inhuman,” and it focuses on the late-term abortion industry. The nation is shocked at the evidence coming out of the Kermit Gosnell case, the Philadelphia abortionist on trial for murdering infants born alive in his clinic.

LiveAction.org is proving in its latest campaign that the practice is more widespread than Gosnell.

In this, the second video of the series, a 24-week pregnant LiveAction undercover investigator asks Washington, D.C. abortion doctor Cesare Santangelo about the late-term abortion procedure.

“Hopefully we’ll get this pregnancy out intact, but it doesn’t always happen that way,” Santangelo told the investigator.  “I try and sever the umbilical cord first, and we wait for that to stop pulsing, and this way the fetus is expired first.”

When asked what would happen if the procedure resulted in a live birth, Santangelo replied,

Technically – you know, legally we would be obligated to help it, you know, to survive.  But, you know, it probably wouldn’t.  It’s all in how vigorously you do things to help a fetus survive at this point.  Let’s say you went into labor, the membranes ruptured, and you delivered before we got to the termination part of the procedure here, you know?  Then we would do things – we would – we would not help it.  We wouldn’t intubate.  It would be, you know, uh, a person, a terminal person in the hospital, let’s say, that had cancer, you know?  You wouldn’t do any extra procedures to help that person survive.  Like ‘do not resuscitate’ orders.  We would do the same things here.

As Lila Rose, LiveAction.org’s president, narrates at the beginning of the video, “Under the ‘Born Alive Infants Protection Act,’ any child born in the United States, including a survivor of a failed abortion attempt, is guaranteed the full rights and legal protections of citizenship and entitled to life-saving medical care.”

“We would not help it,” Santangelo said. “We wouldn’t intubate… Like ‘do not resuscitate’ orders.”
