Incredible story of life-changing bond between stranger and street kid

Conservatives have been preaching for years that a hand up, not a hand out, is the way to elevate the poor. The adage, “Give a man a fish and he can eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he can eat for a lifetime” comes to mind.

This beautiful, heartwarming story of a bond that developed decades ago by Laura Schroff and Maurice Mazyck when he was 11 years old illustrates this point precisely. Enjoy.
