Michael Moore’s bodyguard arrested for unlicensed weapon

A bodyguard of filmmaker Michael Moore, who has long been a proponent of stringent gun control, was arrested at New York’s JFK airport for carrying an illegal firearm.

According to a Fox News report:

Police took Patrick Burke, who says Moore employs him, into custody after he declared he was carrying a firearm at a ticket counter. Burke is licensed to carry a firearm in Florida and California, but not in New York. Burke was taken to Queens central booking and could potentially be charged with a felony for the incident.

After the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School last month, Moore tweeted to his followers:

“Only minutes away from pundits & politicians say, “This isn’t the time to talk about gun control.” Really? When is that moment?”

and,

“The way to honor these dead children is to demand strict gun control, free mental health care, and an end to violence as public policy.”

  1. Typical limousine-liberal! Wants rules forced upon us, but lives his own life completely free of all restrictions under the assumption he is “entitled” to his dispensation because he is more gifted, talented, valuable, etc. than the rest of us poor pedestrian folk. Moore is simply a rich liberal who is unaffected by the rules he wants imposed on us, as proved by his being accompanied by armed bodyguards he can afford because he is rich while wanting all of us unarmed and at the mercy of criminals. Plus, if he is so concerned about the income disparity in America, why doesn’t he just give all his money away and live on $50,000.00 a year?

Because he is a hypocrite who is also a tyrant, that’s why.

    • Maybe he needs to be protected because of the right wing whackos who would like to make a name for themselves? And he’s a “tyrant”? Do you know what that word means?
So because he is more ambitious and more educated, and actually gets his point across via blogs and movies…he’s a tyrant? He seizes government control? Really?
      Keep on hating, little people.

      • Shhh – you’re an idiot!

        @Lynne C

“So because he is more ambitious and more educated…”

A nice definition for a blatant liar.

      • Ruppert Jenkins says:

Lynn, sorry, but you’re just a full-blown idiot if you think that Moore deserves protection yet you and the rest of us little people don’t. You are beyond help if you truly think that way.

  2. Luther Henry says:

Yes to the above but do not forget that he is part of the royal, privileged class and not one of the peasants as the rest of us are. They are so very important that they must be protected from the riff raff, while we will be expected to just submit to whomever wishes us harm or try to protect ourselves with kitchen ware and pots and pans for helmets. We are expendable, they must be protected to procreate for a better world.

  3. It’s similar to Mayor Bloomberg buying a 40oz big gulp…..If your famous in America you get to tell the rest of us how to live, of course the Celebs are not to be bound by these rules….Micheal Moore is a bag of wind who can now go on Pierce Morgan’s show on CNN and Bitch and moan about conspiracies.

  4. I don’t like Michael Moore any better than I liked his father, Jabba the Hutt.

  5. mariaisahag says:

cant wait till that pig has a massive mi

  6. once again
    Liberalism is a mental disorder

  7. Hypocrisy at its best.

  8. Real nice to wish physical and medical harm/death on this guy. Way to show that you’re a better person. I know when I feel like I’ve taken the high road, it is typically after cursing, mocking, and wishing harm on others. As ironic as this is, and as messed up as things are, it is never okay to behave the way the lot of you have so far. It’s just more grandstanding and shouting at those with whom you disagree. This is the kind of thing that we learn doesn’t get us very far as toddlers in kindergarten.

    • Michael DeAmicis says:

You take the high road there chippy. Meanwile, If i were to acidentaly run this biece of canine feces over, I would make sure to back up and hit his fat ass again.

  9. The hypocrisy of MM wanting tougher gun laws and his bodyguard now facing charges because of tougher gun laws is somewhat priceless. Not to mention, if this gentlemen is found guilty as charged, felony, I do believe his gun owning/toting days will be over.

    • jason fisch says:

thats not Hypocrisy, it’s irony. michael moore has no control over the incompetence of professionals he hires

      • Ruppert Jenkins says:

Yet, he does have control over whether his bodyguards are ARMED. Since Moore hates guns so much, all he needs to do is insist that any bodyguard that HE pays MUST not have any guns. Why, fists and a nightstick and stern language are the most that ANYONE needs, right?

  10. I doubt that this guy will ever face a trial. He’ll admit that he made a mistake, get a slap on the wrist and go back to work as before. Another of the perks of being a Royal Consort.
