I don’t watch college football much but after seeing this video I may have to start. This is a tackle Dick Butkis in his prime would have been proud to make. Wow.

    Carl, what would you expect him to tackle (not “tackel”) him with if he is charging forward? That was a picture-perfect tackle and perfectly legal. You can tackle with the helmet as long as there is not intentional helmet-to-helmet contact. Perhaps you should leave football-related comments to those who know football.

    If this had been in an NFL game, it would have been a 15 yard penalty, and Clowney would have been fined. It was a great play, but the sissified NFL would have called it helmet to helmet.

      I don’t think it would have been. He pulled his head up and his face mask hit. The play was so quick and players are not supermen. He tried to pull his head up but if you’ve ever played the game you know it’s not always so easy to do.
