Hilarity follows petition to deport CNN host Piers Morgan

piersMorgan_2261090b Piers Morgan, you know that non-American, British citizen hired by CNN to host “Piers Morgan Tonight,” the show with deplorable ratings? Well, Morgan went bloody mad in a Dec.18 interview with Larry Pratt, the Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings.

In what may be the rudest and most ignorant treatment of a guest I have ever seen on television, Morgan, a gun control advocate, said to Pratt, “You’re an unbelievably stupid man, aren’t you?” Morgan had other incredibly insolent comments to Pratt, including, “you don’t actually give a damn about the gun murder rate in America,” he called Pratt an “idiot,” and ended with, “you’re a dangerous man espousing dangerous nonsense and you shame your country.”

To Pratt’s credit, he remained calm, cool and collected while making a coherent argument for gun rights and the second amendment.

Needless to say, furious reaction to Morgan’s rant came in the form of telling him to bugger off via a petition posted by a Texas journalist on the White House website. The petition reads:

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:

Deport British Citizen Piers Morgan for Attacking 2nd Amendment

British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment. We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens.

As of this writing, a whopping 71,000 people have signed it, and that number jumps dramatically by the hour. According to the White House website, a petition with 25,000 signatures in 30 days requires a response from the Administration.

Please don’t hold your breath. It’s doubtful the President will ever issue a statement, nor will the cheeky British arse of a journalist get deported.  Though Morgan is not a citizen, he is afforded some protection under the first Amendment, ironically.

However, don’t let that stop you from joining in the fun on Twitter. Morgan can’t seem to shut up, and he’s constantly tweeting snarky comments about the petition that clearly has him slightly panicked. Some tweets from Morgan read: “If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?” and “Merry Christmas! Even to those who want me deported.”

The Twitter responses are absolutely classic. Britebart.com reported the tweets from Jeremy Clarkson, a popular British television host. Clarkson wrote, “Americans. It took us 40 years to get rid of Piers Morgan. Please don’t send him back,” and “Americans. Was the second amendment not introduced to protect you from the tyranny of the British? Piers Morgan in other words.”

Laugh out loud hilarious, as are the fabulous suggestions being tweeted under #PiersMorganDeportationGifts.

Some of the best:

From @Ashley_Thorel: “#PiersMorganDeportationGifts the book ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ so he doesn’t get kicked out of his next country.”

From @izzyjsmom: “#PiersMorganDeportationGifts signed copy of the US Constitution by all @NRA members.”

From @MCHblazer: “A nice shiny red coat to wear just like the last Brits we kicked out of here #PiersMorganDeportationGifts”

From @hollyR_J: “#PiersMorganDeportationGifts Sandra Fluke…PLEASE, take her with you.”

And now, multiple sources are reporting on the counter petition on the WhiteHouse.gov website posted Tuesday which reads:

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:

Keep Piers Morgan in the USA

We want to keep Piers Morgan in the USA.

There are two very good reasons for this. Firstly, the first amendment.

Second and the more important point. No one in the UK wants him back.

Actually there is a third. It will be hilarious to see how loads of angry Americans react.

There are only 209 signatures so far, so the giggle factor for this petition is still quite minimal.

  • http://yahoo Marlene Rodulf

If he does not get deported, we should petition CNN to fire him. He was very rude to Mr. Platt. I have never seen any TV host insult a guest so badly! He does not deserve that job; why CNN hired a British guy anyway is puzzling!

  • James

Worse than deportation or cancelation, let's petition to have his show moved to MSNBC.

  • Ronald ,E.Bauerle

Send the pompous idiot back to the Queen

  • Armond Simmons

Send him back and send Obama with him!

When you come from a country that doesn't allow law abiding citizens to have guns what do you expect. The UK have their cops hurt and killed from people with guns and their citizens, so I don't pay much attention to him and I don't see any other country offering to take him.

Most countries would put him in jail for speaking the reteric he does.

I try to watch CNN while I am in Turkey and as soon as this Insolent British show starts I go to BBC, there not to many channels that I can watch English news so I am kind of stuck on CNN and BBC but this man was basically kicked out from Brittain because of his sewer mouth and bad news tactics. Like worse than the Enquire. Kick him back to Kenya, Africa or Nigeria, lets see how long he will last there.

    • Fidel Garcia

i remember him how rude sometimes be in the show American idol when he was judge !

  • Karen

I had never watched his show until this one. I was shocked how obnoxious and rude Piers was to his guest! A talk show host shouldn't be allowed to belittle any guest and call them names! He was awful!! He needs to be fired!

  • Miranda

Is everyone joking here? Every person who signed that petition must be an uneducated redneck living in the hills. Piers argued that assault weapons should be banned from the general public, so that maniacs like that guy in the Newtown massacre wouldn't have assault weapons in the first place. He's NOT arguing for NO GUNS AT ALL. Whereas Pratt is saying, "Let's fight assault weapons with MORE assault weapons!" In schools? Around tiny children? You all must be completely out of your minds.

    And John, it's spelled "rhetoric".

I am most impressed with Mr. Morgans zeal. That is the only thing I am impressed with. Actually, I would best describe my feelings as absolutely disgusted with his 'performance' or lack thereof. Performance is as good as any word to describe his juvenile jaunts – it certainly is NOT journalism.

I have come to trust CNN and have only the highest regard for all of the anchors. Without exception I consider them of the highest integrity, sophistication and 'class.' Then there is Piers Morgan, the 'brute force bully' of journalism that appears to see himself as the only true savior of the world's moral standing. Wrong. So very wrong!

I have no problem and admire tough interviewers that dig at the truth, asking the tough questions and offering a venue for healthy discusion of opinion – but this quasi-journalist, with no class consistenly talks over his guests and frequently attacking them. I think he really believes he is a one man crusade to conquer whatever injustice he sees and offers up the minute range of solutions that 'he' deems appropriate and then shoves them down everyone's throat. I

No, this guy really believes his way is the only way. Ask any guests with an opposing opinion, that rarelt have a chance to finish their point, let alone being ridiculed. I truly don't know why he even invites guests. I think they are a 'living props' to allow him unniterupted access to the airways so he can weave his one-sighted opinions, forcing them down our throats. Wrong! This only disgusts me. Thank God for a remote controls.

I consider him more of a 'preacher wanna be,' using CNN as his pulpit. Perhaps 'preacher' was an understatement, 'God' would be a better choice of words. I mean, he really believe he's right and there is only one answer – there is a term for that, 'delusional' that's it. 'Moral Messiah' might work as well.

If CNN wanted some nauseating, full of himself, self absorbed, fire and brimstone narcisist dictator of American values – well then, you got em!

I don't believe people with 'grandiousity disorder,' to the degree in which he suffers, is capable of changing his MO – thinking (and believing) with moral certainty his positions and that damn near 50% of the population of the US should be run out of town and have their guns taken away. That's just plain ignorant. Hey, I have views on both sides of the fence, but I would never be (allowed) to be heard on his show.

I mean, who is this guy – really, who is this guy?

I can thank you, from the bottom of my heart, as I tuned in tonight, to see him petting a wart hog. Damn – I laughed my ass off, figuring it was CNN's way of putting him in a corner with a time out to suck his thumb. I just rolled in laughter. When the other major networks are covering real news with serious topics, here he is in the petting zoo.

He is definetely a stain on CNN's reputation. All that progress in carving out a reputable news niche only allow a pompous, shallow, self-serving oaf to share your line up with 'serious' correspondents – well, at best it's a chink in your armor and worst – God only knows who will piss off next?

Love ya CNN. If you don't pull the blug on this Bozo, then please keep up the program formating, perhaps consider the weather (he can't pontificate that too much) or maybe interview the Pope so he can straighten him out. There's no end to the good this super hero can do in this world. Such a shame, somany big worldly problems and only one Piers Morgan.

I mean, really – Who is this Guy?

    Happy New Year!

    Louie Rochon

PS. I really don't hate you Piers. I just think you're a moron and that you really ought to let a grown up do your job.
