Once again singer Harry Belafonte is turning heads with outrageous liberal comments. While speaking about entitlements on Al Sharpton’s Politics Nation on MSNBC, Belefonte charged that “corrupt people” are trying to dismantle entitlements – against the wishes of the people.
Sharpton noted that Belefonte has been an activist leader for decades on behalf of entitlements such as Medicare, Medicaid and social security, which he said faces possible cuts to balance the budget. “How do you view this and what is the challenge to those who are on the field today?” asked Sharpton.
Belefonte said he was attracted to the process by watching the “maturity of the American people.”
“There was great question as to whether Barack would even be elected,” Belefonte said. He suggested that a “lingering infestation of really corrupt people” were trying to dismantle the wishes of the people and the “mandate that has been given to Barack Obama.”
“The only thing left for Barack Obama to do is work like a third world dictator and just put all these guys in jail,” he concluded.
