Fiscal Cliff — the musical

The looming fiscal cliff — you’ve heard the explanation and you’ve heard the arguments from both sides. Now witness the musical.

The song is performed by Todd Chappelle, who wrote the lyrics as a parody to “Sister Christian” by Night Ranger.

Lyrics:

Fiscal Cliff you know the time has come
And it won’t be sparing anyone,
You’ll see …. You’ll see …

Congress argues over every dime
You know those boys are running out of time
It’s true … It’s true …

So vote again,
both sides want to fight
The left can’t stand the right
I hope they see the light

Will the left and right negotiate
Or will they leave it to the head of state
To say … You’ll pay …

Fiscal cliff, now don’t you play with fire
Should they let the Bush tax cuts expire
I say … no way …

So vote again,
it’s all over the news
The reds against the blues
We need more revenue

So vote again,
both sides want to fight
The left can’t stand the right
I hope they see the light

Fiscal Cliff you know the time has come
The First of January won’t be fun,
You’ll see …. You’ll see …
