In what began as a philosophical discussion over Christmas trees, emotions ran high as Fox News host Bill O’Reilly quickly clashed with David Silverman, President of American Atheists. Atheist organizations are challenging public displays of Christmas in Rhode Island and other areas of the country.
“Why are you messing around with my tradition,” O’Reilly asked. “Just leave it alone.”
Silverman said they are not messing around with anything, but instead are “stopping the government from preferring one religion over another.”
From that point, the discussion turned to the difference between a religion and a philosophy and a very heated exchange from both sides.

You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Dream Tree’
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

not Happy Holiday!

since when does the minority rule in this country?
I guess this Silverman dude wants a judge to rule his views are moe important then the majority of the country’s. Why is that? They offend me is that suppost to be ok? Merry Christmas you idiot.
As long as the majority let the minority rule we will have to put up with this. Since parents don’t teach children the values and the Word of God at home, churches do not present the Word of God with the truth, they have no way of knowing what to say in school which leads to lawyers, doctors, politicians saying there is NO GOD and eliminating all mention of Christianity. If the Word of God isn’t preached in the pulpits but people are lead astray, how do you expect children & adults to believe in anything. Today, church is just a place for socials. Preachers are too scared they will lose their congregations to preach the Word as Jesus told it and the apostles preached it. That is why you have so many athiest and other religions that preach hate in this world.
the government does not show a preference. I respect the Jewish religion – let’s just all believe in a greater power – GOD!
So you want a menorah and i want a tree – have them both and celebrate the beauty of it all! A belief in a GOD that we all love! I live in southern Florida and everyone just seems to come together on it. We respect each others faith because we have one common belief – God!
