Letter to the editor: Combat veteran upset with Petraeus and Allen

As a combat veteran, I find it greatly upsetting that two of our top brass – Gen. David Petraeus and Gen. John Allen — have given the military a bad name recently. I feel for Col. Allen West, who must be embarrassed, as the whole country should be. Shame on those guys. A couple of generals who let their privates do their thinking. The problem is that this is exactly the distraction that the Obama administration must have been praying for. Let’s hope the infidelity and the sleazy emails don’t reveal any modern-day Mata Hari stuff. And let’s hope that our fallen Libyan embassy staffers finally get the attention they deserve.
