Sun Sentinel endorsement: ‘Romney will help this nation’

In a surprising bit of news Friday, South Florida’s local publication the “Sun Sentinel” wrote a comprehensive article endorsing Mitt Romney for the president of the United States.

The following is an excerpt:

Brush away all the rhetoric, all the vitriol, all the divisiveness from the presidential campaign. To most Americans, only one thing matters — the economy.

Four years into Barack Obama’s presidency, economic growth is sputtering. Family incomes are down. Poverty is up. Business owners are reluctant to assume risk in the face of unending uncertainty. Many are holding on by their fingernails, desperate for signs of an economic recovery that will help them provide for themselves, their employees, their customers and their communities.

When President Obama came into office in 2009, the economy was in freefall and though untested, he inspired us with his promise of hope and change. Now, four years later, we have little reason to believe he can turn things around.

So while we endorsed Obama in 2008, we recommend voters choose Republican Mitt Romney on Nov. 6.

Yes, the jobless numbers from September showed a drop to 7.8 percent unemployed, the first time in almost four years that it’s been below 8 percent. But the numbers are deceiving because more than 4 million Americans have given up looking for work since January 2009.

  1. Obama killed those four men as if he pulled the trigger himself. He did nothing to save them, and then lied about it for two weeks. You can bet if his mouth is moving, he’s lying. He has been taught by the best communist that resides on this earth. Their sole perpose is to bring US of A to her knees and take over like a communist country with obama as king or dictator. I will not live under those conditions. EVER. That is not what my father fought for in WW11. Or your fathers.

  2. Gary S. Lukich Sr. says:

Thank God (yes, the God throughout our great nations history, that the Democrats wanted thrown out at their convention), people are coming to their senses and seeing the reality of things. For the Sentinal to come forward, it shows there is hope yet!

  3. Love this! Good for this paper to stand up against main stream leftist media! Romney all the way.

  4. RUSerious says:

The Sun Sentinel already losing subscribers has now lost even more credibility and subscribers for this unfortunate endorsement of a candidate and party that has done nothing to improve the quality of life for South Floridians or the Nation.

  5. Juliette Triozon says:

Great, so tell me: How do you “honestly” think that Mr. Romney will save this Nation’s economy? By cutting taxes and increasing Military expense to $2 Trillion? Where will he get this money? Let us not forget that the actual President Obama took over a very weak and diminished country in 2008, thanks to George W. Bush who (by the way) cut taxes and added two more “useless” wars and yes, for those who know their maths, it did put a big dent in our already sick pocket book!
President Obama’s mistake was promising something that was out of the “league”, not just his, but anyone’s else, for there is no “quick” fixes, nor immediate solutions and even less a miracle. The downfall of the economy has started way before he came in and it’s not just here in the USA, but it’s “Global”, so let’s wake up and give the man more “time”. Yes, we are bleeding, but we should not lose hope yet and like the Phoenix, we shall rise from the ashes. YES WE CAN!!
