Random Thoughts And Then Some…

TGIF!  It’s the end of the week and it’s time to empty the brain of all this weeks random thoughts and  unused information collected to make room for next weeks data overload – Tom Tillison

With record unemployment in Florida, at least we can feel fortunate that our representative in Congress, Alan Grayson, is working hard to ease the blow, right?  What’s that?  He’s in Hollywood, California?  Yep, it seems that Mr. Grayson is in La-La Land this weekend attending a fund raiser for his re-election campaign with his far left, elitist comrades on the West Coast.  Maybe he’ll donate some of the proceeds to struggling families right here in Central Florida?  I know, I’ve always been a dreamer!  (Hat Tip to Linda O’Keefe!)

So, Daniel Webster has now entered the Republican primary race to take on Alan Grayson in D8…he was on the 50,000 watt front porch with  Bud Hedinger (WFLA 540AM) this morning  and mentioned a discussion he had with Congressman Bill Posey (R/FL D15) about entering the race.  Just curious, since it’s clear that a discussion took place with established Republican officials, was there any similar discussions held to seek the opinion/counsel of anyone associated with the ‘tea party’ movement?

It does appear that the RPOF is a little more ‘in tune’ with the ‘tea party’ movement, or, at least, can see a use for some within the movement…

I must say that it is a bit disheartening to see that money is still the big player on the block.  With so much focus on principles and issues over the past year, one would hope that we’ve moved beyond that, for the sake of our country, but, I suppose that would be a naive thought…

Speaking of the RPOF, the mud slinging continues over the Am Ex Credit Card fiasco, with splatters now hitting Charlie Crist.  Wonder if Jim Greer ever anticipated that happening?  The big question seems to be can Marco Rubio survive intact?

Would have liked to have been  a ‘fly on the wall’ in the Marco Rubio camp when Marco was informed that V.P. Dick Cheney has endorsed him!

And poor ol’ Charlie Crist…what must it be like to be walking in his shoes right now?  The word is that he will file as an Independent next week –  Sorry, Harry Tsang, you’re guess of April 23rd has missed the mark!  If Crist does follow through on this move, it should just about signal the end of his political career in Florida.  I’ve got an idea, Charlie, why not file as a Florida Tea Party candidate???

A recent press release went out stating that the rogue Florida Tea Party political party, and it’s ‘candidate’ of choice, have raised “over $150,000”.  Now, if you are detecting a strange odor, I submit that it could be the aroma emitted from the proverbial ‘cooking of the books’.  Now, I’m not an accountant, or an overly smart fellow, for that matter, but what stood out to me in this release is that the ‘candidate’ reported raising $43,569.02, including $10,500 of her own money…her ‘Cash on Hand’?  $10,500….hmmmm, that’s interesting.  And, the press release also mentions that the FTP will be donating $10,000 to ‘the candidate’ on April 30th.   Let’s see now, that date has some significance, doesn’t it?  Oh yeah, that’s the filing deadline in Florida…and the fee for filing in the Sunshine State?  $10,000 – I’m just saying…

April 30th is fast approaching – do you have your ‘bracket’ filled out yet?  Who’s in?  Who’s out?  I hope you fair better that Obama did on his NCAA Basketball bracket!

There’s a new kid on the block in the tea party movement, with the newly formed West Orlando Tea Party quickly structuring itself to be a major player on the scene.  That’s good news, as reinforcements are sorely needed…let’s hope they can rise above the ‘drama’ and stay focued on the issues.  Check them out at www.westorlandoteaparty.com

It’s an exciting time in the world of politics!  Things have definately gotten interesting in the D24 Republican primary race this week, and, don’t take your eye off of D3 either, where there is a Democrat challenger to Corrine Brown that’s already qualified and on the ballet, and, Mike Yost, a Republican challenger, has also made it on the ballet through the petition process, which is always commendable!
